This was our first time (2 adults, 4 kids) to ski at Wolf Creek and we had no recommendations about where to stay other than the internet. After much review reading and research, we chose HCL&C and will ABSOLUTELY stay there again on our next trip! The owners, Rich and Mona, and

We traveled in and needed a one night lodging, the people were friendly and explained everything completely. It was a dated lodge, but very quaint and accommodating. The room was clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Our cabin was at the back of the property. We booked a king bedroom cabin. The cabin was very nice and comfortable. The establishment had a free hot breakfast every morning; scrambled eggs, sausages, cottage fries, fruit, cereals, oatmeal, waffle station, breads and bagels,

It sounds like you enjoyed your stay with us. Many people really like our 2 king cabins, especially since they are located on the edge of the woods, back in the trees, where the deer like to come and spy on our guests. Thanks for your great review. We enjoyed hearing from you. See you on your next trip!

Made a last minute reservation to stay 2 days. Price was great and included breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable. The room could have used a couple of repairs, but for the price it was great. Breakfast in the morning was good except for the biscuits, they were hard.

We stopped over here on our way to and from an Arizona vacation. We had a first floor lodge room and were pleased with how quiet it was. Everything was clean and functional. Breakfast offered a good range of choices. You are a short way outside Pagosa Springs, so you can't

How far is pagosa from springs and are there places to eat close by.
There are no restaurants within walking distance. The High Country Lodge is on the highway that goes over Wolf Creek Pass. You will have to drive into town for everything. A lot of the new places in Pagosa Springs are on the end furthest away from the High Country Lodge. If you are looking for a convenient location, someplace in town might be better.

how close are the national Parks for camping/hiking?
We did not visit any of them on this trip, so I don't have that information for you. The other answers seem to help. Sorry about that!

Not sure about the airport. I was on a drive holiday. The lodge is fine for single travellers and is just on the outskirts of town and well lit parking lot
