Stayed here in 2014 with my wife and two kids, the cabins were rustic but very comfortable. The Inn keepers were very nice and accommodating. Property is well maintained and not to far from town. There is plenty of good secure parking as well.

We needed a place to stay on our way to Navajo Lake and found High Country Lodge on trip advisor. We were very pleased with our choice. Beautiful surroundings, lush grounds and very nice people. They gave us discount tickets to the hot springs in town and also gave us free towels to take there and use which saved us...

Summer is a great time to visit HCL and the surrounding areas, but winter has its own charm as well. A small studio cabin with its wood burning fireplace is very welcoming for a couple or a small family after a long day on the ski slopes. Our hot tub deck is a perfect ending to a snowy day. We...

We spent 4 days at High Country Lodge. The rooms were clean, the towels abundant and thick, the bathroom was in two parts so two people could get ready at the same time. Breakfast was outstanding, including a coffee machine which did everything from a latte to espresso. The staff members were friendly and helpful. There were hot tubs on...

My husband and I recently stayed at High Country Lodge for the weekend on our way to Durango. It was wonderful. If your looking for a place to kick back without all the bustle of a franchise hotel this is it. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful flowers. Located just outside of Pagosa Springs the hotel offers beautiful views of the mountains....

We enjoy being a "Mom and Pop" instead of a chain-it enables us to do everything "our" way and to change things up without corporate red tape. We think this makes for a better experience for our guests, and that is always our goal. Thank you so much for lodging with us, and letting us know how much you enjoyed...

We stayed a week here and loved it! The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious! They offered a great selection for breakfast and they have the best coffee in town! The hot tubs were clean and relaxing. The grounds were beautiful and well manacured. They have two beautiful porches, and a fun playground. The owners France and Bob were...

We spent one night in the main lodge recently, and I have to say that I was disappointed. The room was dated and it felt like it needed a good cleaning...especially the walls and dusty baseboards. The bed and sheet were clean, so that was good. We could hear everything said by the people in the adjoining room. Luckily, we...

Thank you for sharing your review with us. We are sorry to hear that the room didn’t quite meet your expectations. We do like to think we’re a bit rustic, but to us that never means dusty. Our management team and owners inspect every room daily to ensure that it meets our high standards for cleanliness and comfort. We also...

The hotel was very clean, staff was great. Asked for ideas of things to do in the area..they helped us. Liked the breakfast room, good breakfast! Three hot tubs which were great as well. Hummingbird feeders were cool.

Great hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. We could hear that all day long, and never get tired of it. We enjoyed your review-short and to the point, but it says a lot about HCL and our goal of ensuring our guests time here is as pleasant and memorable as possible. We enjoyed hosting you, and hope you will return often....

Again we made our reservations sight unseen and we were very pleasantly surprised. AA had given this lodging, including motel rooms and cabins a 2 star rating. We love to see our guests really enjoy and take advantage of all HCL has to offer. This older hotel has that nice "Log Cabin" look and feel to it. Dark brown log facing, forest green trim, and baskets of flowers hanging along the railings make this property seem like you are way off in the mountains. We love that "cabin/way off in the mountains feeling" too. But the nice thing is we are only 2 miles out of town, and only 5 minutes from restaurants and the hot springs!
