On a 3,000 mile motorcycle trip, my church group spent one nite at the High Country Lodge. The staff was very friendly and efficient....check-in was a breeze even though 11 people showed up at once to check in. The amenities were so nice and the rooms were very comfortable. I loved the quilts on the beds, the soap, shampoo, etc...

We certainly enjoyed hosting your group-you were a lot of fun, and obviously having a good time! That's what we like to see-great memories being made. The whole staff read your review and we are all smiling, knowing other travelers will make decisions based on your experience here. Thank you so much for writing. We hope you will come back...

Absolutely delightful! Beautiful setting, courteous and friendly staff, adorable cabin, perfect setting for an early morning coffee...loved this place. This was my favorite place during our Colorado vacation. We will definitely be returning and staying longer than one night.

You are absolutely right-early mornings on the front porch of our cabins with a steaming cup of coffee and perhaps the deer wandering by is a great way to start the day at HCL! We enjoyed your review-it let us know what we are doing right for our guests, and gives us encouragement to keep up the high standards we...

We stayed in one of the cabins and absolutely loved it. The cabin was very clean and well appointed and just wonderful. The grounds were beautiful, quiet, and very well maintained. The breakfast was delicious and the dining room and all the staff were just wonderful. Thank you so much for making this stay one of the highlights of our...

Stayed in a little private cabin. A "tiny house". Clean, bright, private. Nice porch to sit on as the evening progresses. Wonderful cool breeze at night. Nice breakfast buffet style with good coffee. Loved it! Management seem easy to work with and eager to please. The owners are there, not just some employee following a corporate manual.

We are so happy to be a "Mom and Pop" hotel-no corporate manuals, just great staff doing our best to deliver over the top customer service to each and every guest. It sounds like you had a great time in your "tiny house". Many guests have a favorite cabin that they request time after time, and we are glad to...

The service was exceptional, every person was very nice and accommodating. We had a medical emergency during our stay and had to extend our visit by a day. The staff was very helpful with information and directions, allowed us to stay an extra day, and showed genuine concern for my wife's health. It was very comforting being away from home...

We hope your wife is doing well, and that your next stay will be carefree and relaxing. However, it is good to know that help is nearby when you are traveling...

Love staying here tucked in the trees outside of town. Rooms have personality and nice linens. Great hospitality and clean rooms. 3 hotubs and peaceful grounds to enjoy . Morning breakfast and coffee every morning in a log cabin style decor breakfast room . I would suggest a little softer pillows in the rooms, but thats my preference. Staff knowledgable...

I really appreciate the staff here. They were friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions for dining and other activities. While this place is near the highway, it is set back far enough the road noise does not seem too intrusive. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. The office and breakfast room were decorated in a log cabin western motive,...

This was our third time staying and our family of 6 had another great time. We opted for the bunk house to take advantage of the second bathroom and larger kitchen. The cabin was clean, everything worked, and provided the respite we were all looking forward to on our trip. We will be back for certain!

This place is so nice, and the staff are nice also. Rustic charm, decent price, clean rooms. Breakfast was okay, but filling. This was a good choice, I felt, for us to make. It is five minutes from Pagosa Springs.

Thank you for choosing HCL. It sounds like we made you comfortable and you enjoyed your stay with us. We have guests who stay for a week and some that stop in to get off the road for a single night. But whatever the length of your stay, we want it to be the best we can provide so that...

This was a second attempt to allow Pagosa Springs to redeem itself. This trip was a motorcycle ride down to the natural hot springs and decided to spend the night at the HCL .
