My partner and I have just returned from a two week stay.
The Check-In was quick and easy the manager was polite and pleasant he explained that due to Covid restricts there was no buffet but we could have unlimited plates of food all we had to do was ask.

It’s a shame this wasn’t relayed to his staff as when we requested more food (the dinner portions were small) the lady serving us Anna was somewhat rude telling us she would charge our room even though we had paid for half board and told us we couldn’t have anymore food because they have other guests to feed!

When I requested some water with our meal she gave me tap water bearing in mind there was a water dispenser of fresh mineral water!

Anna seemed to lack professionalism and had a general disregard for the guests especially when I slipped over in the reception area because the floor was wet I cut my hands and arms she didn’t do anything to help me and couldn’t care less that I was needing first aid.

The manager did speak to me about Anna and apologised about how she behaved but the damage was already done it’s a shame because she did put a downer on our stay

Breakfast was always the same food everyday which by the end of our 2 week stay we were really bored of! we were served most days by Mr Antonio who was always polite and would check on us if we needed anymore he was the most loveliest member of staff.

The hotel in general is quite dated and approx 30 mins walk from the city centre, we did get a bus pass which we used everyday as there is nothing to do in the area of the hotel.

We used the pool everyday in the afternoon after we had been out for the day. On our final day we decided we would spend the day around the pool, beware lots of locals come along at the weekends and take advantage of the free pool all they have to do is buy a drink to get to use the pool this is a shame because it takes away exclusivity for the actual hotel guests.

Another point to note is they advertise that they have 2 pools one indoor and one outdoor plus a sauna I was told they only have the outdoor pool maybe you need to update the information about your hotel on your website.

Just had a good week at the M.Moniatis Hotel (not to be confused with the sea front appartments)through youtravel .com. there description slightly differs from my opinion.

The hotel is set in a small villiage of Yermassoyia on the outside of Limassol. It is quiet, the service is good and friendly. The all inclusive option is not worth the money, and is not on a carribean scale of all inclusive expeiriences.

You'll need a car, as there is little in the village to entertain you. Its about 10 -15 mins by car to the tourist area, and 25+ to the old part of Limassol. It is also easily accessable from the new M1 motorway just a couple of mins away.

It may be hard to judge the hotel accuartely as there could have been no more than 10 other guests in the place while we were there. However I would recommend the place for a chill out break to unwind and or if you are happy to explore cyprus with out the need for a tour guide, this is the place for you.

A huge positive point, I was able to negotiate a room extention past our check out time free of charge, as I had not fully used the all inclusive package.

This most certainly not the place for a family who want the kids entertained, or be entertained them selves, as it simply does not happen.

We noted that during the weekend and after school times the hotel pool is used by the local teenagers, who had to pay cyp £3 for the visit. They were ok and did not cause any hassle, if they stepped out of line though, the hotel staff were down on them like a ton of bricks.

I would use this hotel again, albeit on a different board basis.

I've just got back from sunny Cyprus and had a week at the Moniatis Hotel, i'll try and break it down in segments.
Location: The Hotel is situated in a small residential area in Germasogeia which is on the outskirts ol Limassol, it's quite isolated as i found out you really need a car to get about properly. You can get the local bus number 13 into Limassol which I did a few times, but they are never on time and sometimes you wait for a long time, especially coming back, single ticket cost me €1.5, it's quite a walk and not that nice with an underpass to go through, I walked it in around 30 mins.
Food: I stayed half board and altough the food is a bit limited and not much choice, the dishes are quite tasty in the evening with lots of salads and fresh food to pick, breakfasts were pretty good and they change the egg style each day, fried/boiled/scrambled etc. , you can choose coffee/tea/water/orange juice.
Room: The room I stayed in was at the North end so not much of a view as building works are going on nearby, but the room is quite large with plenty of storage, beds were reasonably comfy, Air-Con was constantly on 16° but the room never got that cold, it felt around 20-21° all day which was tolerable. Maybe I should have done more research but this is the first hotel I've ever stayed in a hot country with no fridge?
As a traveller there's nothing better than coming back from a hot day out or around the pool when you really need a cool drink, or popping down the supermarket to put a few cool ones in the fridge for later, all my drinks were warm all week, warm water, warm Cola.
Staff: The staff are friendly enough and were always happy to help you out with any questions, many thanks to Anna who organised a few excursions for me which you can do at the main desk, they do a packed lunch if you set out early too.
Pool: The hotel has a nice decent sized pool out the back, there's always plenty of space to catch a few hours in the sun or a dip in the pool, many a day there were not many people out here so it's fairly quiet, but as the hotel is a couple of miles from the coast there's not much breeze, be careful as it can get pretty hot 33° most days I was there.
Overall a decent hotel if a little dated and the location may not suit everyone, lack of fridge was hard to cope without, you get what you pay for as it was one of the cheapest on the sites.

I travelled to the Hotel Moniatis on 11/2/07 with my mother and two small children for a short relaxing break.

We booked this hotel mainly because of the facilities it said it provided. We wanted somewhere with an indoor heated pool, childrens playground and buffet meals which it said it provided.

When we arrived at the Moniatis we discovered including our party there was only 8 people staying at the hotel. We did not mind this until we found that the owner would not turn on the heating (we were constantly freezing), open the indoor swimming pool (the outdoor one was filthy) nor provide buffet meals for such a small group of people. The buffet Breakfast that was supplied was disgusting and reheated for the next morning, and the evening buffet did not exist and we were given a choice of beef stroganoff or sweet and sour chicken, no starters, no dessert!

The hotel also promises that it is a short stroll to many bars and tavernas, the place was deserted!! We did not want to walk to anywhere as there were no street lights, and dangerous roads.

This hotel does not deliver on its promises. Beware!
Needless to say we left this hotel on the second day.

Just left the moniatis hotel after staying for the weekend with friends. We had such a good time we couldn't think of anything wrong. The staff were very friendly, especially the girls who cleaned our rooms, and the man who phoned us a McDonald's delivery :), pool was lovely and had sun coverage up to half past 4! It's in the middle of a little village with a lovely pub up the road where they give you free shots of fire water. Loads of cats , we had the pool to ourselves most of the time . Thank you for having us we really enjoyed, the (loud) British girls in room 319 xx

I arrived at the Moniatis Hotel on Sunday 24th June 2012, first impressions were good, the hotel was clean, in fact spotless! Check-in was quick and efficient and I was soon unpacking in a very well appointed room, air conditioned plenty of storage space, clean linen and towels.
It was apparent within a few minutes of arriving. That the staff were friendly, helpful and did their utmost to make all their guests feel welcome, in fact the hotel could be said to be "home from home". A quick trip to the bar found it well stocked with a great range of spirits and both the local brew KEO, and Carlsberg lager on tap, or available ice cold in large bottles! You can also by soft drinks and bottles of water.
Outside the bar is a lovely swimming pool, and plastic glasses are provided if you want to take your drinks outside and sunbathe and swim. There are plenty of sun loungers available and a covered dining area completes this excellent facility.
Breakfast is a buffet, and you can chose from a good continental selection, or, full English breakfast, with ice cold orange juice and tea and coffee available.
There is a pool bar menu with snacks and more substantial meals available at reasonable prices. There is also a restaurant menu which has some delicious local specialties as well as things like Lamb or Pork chops etc.
The food service left something to be desired, as on one day both the breakfast buffet and the dinner dishes were cold! On the following day there was no food as the chef decided to leave early in the evening – take away please.
A five minute walk will take you up into the village, where you will find a pharmacy, supermarkets, take away food outlets, nice bars and of course a bank. If you want to go further afield there is a bus stop, where you can catch the bus to Limassol and beyond, or if you prefer, ask at reception and they will call you a taxi. Price to Limassol is around 10 Euros each way.
If you want to see more of this beautiful island and its people, hire a car and get out and about to discover beautiful beaches, quaint villages and local cuisine, along with some stunning historical sites.
The Moniatis Hotel, well worth a visit, the best indication of how good this hotel is, comes from the number of Cypriots who chose to come here for the weekend. You can't get a better recommendation than that!
Olympic Representatives are on call and have a great range of excursions at really reasonable prices.
I am definitely returning to this hotel in October 2012.

we spent three whole weeks in moniatis hotel(march to april2012 the second time we have stayed at this hotel, when we booked our holiday we hired a car rather than pay for transfers(transfer from airport £98 car hire for 21days 135euros) what price freedom,we found a very warm welcome from all the staff from M Moniatis to the handyman, yes the hotel is in a quiet village out side the centre of town but if you want to relax have peace and quiet and encompas the cypriot way of life then this is for you. plenty of local shops within 5 mins walk local bars where you can see the lifestyle and join in ,yes we did notice that the bathrooms could do with tidying regards the sealant around the bath, showers were good plenty of hot water, minor details. as for the food a good english breakfast as well as continental food and plenty of it ,we upgraded to half board and had many tasty and excellent cypriot meals, yes the staff smoked outside but it was so they could keep an eye on reception as well as the bar( we smoke in uk) over all we enjoyed our stay at the moniatis hotel so if you want a cypriot stay in cyprus this is the place to be,with a car you can see the beauty of cyprus thanks to all the staff for making our stay such a good holiday see you all march 2014

we paid Ł1350 for two adult and a child for a weekly stay in this hotel in middle of nowhere...we didnt know where is it going to be:(( /thomas cook-last minute booking/
Every day we had english breakfast and nothing greek to try to eat-if you dont eat carbohydrates-then there is nothing to eat for you :(( my partner loves eggs but 7 days on eggs? my son was eating cerials + milk EVERY DAY....
TERRIBLE CHOICE OF FOOD!
we are not english - just live in england so we were sooo angry!!!!
dinner bit better but nothing special!!
the receptionist said there is a bus to limassol to go every hour...on 1st day we were waiting ONE HOUR AND 30 MINUTES IN SUN FOR THAT BLOODY BUS!! DIDNT COME!!!THE BUS STOPS ARE IN THE SUN ( ABOUT 40 DEGREES)....
NEXT DAY ANNA SAID TO US THAT THE BUSES COME ABOUT 20 - 10 MIN EARLIER BECAUSE ...NO-ONE IS WAITING FOR THEM...
OK,WE CAUGHT ONE ON DAY TWO.
Limassol's beach lookes like a lake with very narrow stripe of dark sand(?) and lots of jellyfish in the water!
last bus leaves for Yermassoyia about 5'oclock pm...taxi back cost you 10-13 euro
so we could not eat in restaurant to try greek food-just had to pay taxis :(((

someone told us about Aya-Napa beaches and we decided to go there next day...Receptionist ordered us a transport AND SAID IT IS ABOUT 20 EUROS BOTH WAY...
Firstly-we had to take taxi to roundabout (5euros) to wait for old overpacked mini van...
diver was expecting 2 people so we had TO squeeze with my son in front seat...TERRIBLE!!!!
THEN HE SAID THE VAN IS GOING TO OTHER TOWN (HALF WAY FROM AYA-NAPA), NOT OUR DESTINATION...and it was 30 euros ONE WAY! AND 30 TO COME BACK! So 60 euro a day just to see the beach!!!
we have been there about 3 hours and caught the last bus to limassol and then a taxi to yermassoyia to be on dinner...KATASTROFA!
beside, the people are sooo miserable and not unfriendly to tourists...
the rest of our holiday we spent by swimming pool which is so small that you can bump your head with someone else using it...
we met nice residents there and if they were not there-we would just cry with anger...
IN EVENING...NOTHING! NO FIRES, NO MUSIC, NO DANCE! just dogs barking...
there is a gym in basement, but we came to liy on the beach , eat ice cream, swimm in sea and drink beer in sun!!!!
AHA! we spent over 30 euros on after burn creams and anti-burn ones which didnt work completly!!! my son and my partner had their heads burnt and skin peeling of...great fun!!!
PS. THEY ASK YOU TO PAY FOR ICE IN THE BAR, NOT TO BUY OR CONSUME ANYTHING FROM OUTSIDE THE HOTEL...
one word: KATASTROFA! CATASTROPHY!!!!

Hmm! Want to give a fair and rounded review! The Hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was cleaned daily and we always had fresh towels. Our room overlooked the mountains/village which was most pleasant and very quiet. The Reception area was smoky, as mentioned in other reviews, but of course, with temperatures in the high 20's, we went outside to the pool area so it didn't affect us. The pool itself was very clean, with notices asking you to take a shower before entering, which most people did and the surrounding areas were again, spotlessly clean and most pleasant with plenty of sunbeds/umbellas. The breakfast was just about edible. Luke warm, bland and typically what us "Brits" are offered when abroad; scrambled/fried eggs, bacon (fatty), beans, hotdog sausages, hard boiled eggs, toast, cheeses and meats. There were a couple of indeterminable juices, yoghurt and jams, but it was fairly unappetising and not very imaginative. It filled a hole! The wig wearing manager was pleasant in a "couldn't really be bothered" sort of way. Got the impression that he didn't like the tourists much! A hairdrier is available upon request, but had to be returned immediately after use! On the downside for us: The prices charged for drinks in the hotel was extortionate! In the tourist area of Limassol, we paid 50 cents for a small bottle of water, the hotel charged 1 Euro 65 cents! We paid the equivalent of £3.50 for a glass of coke! The Hotel posts signs advising you that if you take any food or drink into the Hotel, they will be confiscated! Due to the Hotels situation, they have a very captive audience and are cashing in big time. It's disgraceful. On three separate occasions, reception phoned our room to say that we were flooding the room below us and would we please ensure the shower curtain was inside the bath. And each time we informed them that we weren't using the shower! There was obviously a major problem with the plumbing, and the water (wherever it was coming from) was pouring through the lights in the bathroom below, making that bathroom unusable. We offered to speak to the disgruntled guests oursleves to explain this, but our request was politely declined. However, an overheard discussion at breakfast on our last day, revealed that we had most definitely been blamed ( albeit anonomously) by the Hotel Manager, who even said that we had apologised for our behaviour! Finally, when checking out, we had been charged for drinks we hadn't had. The Hotel will allow you to charge things to your room, but ask for no proof of identity (ie.room key or signature). Beware! We had to sign the bill to say that we hadn't had the drinks, but the Manager clearly didn't believe us. This Hotel is really off the beaten track, do not go here if you are new to Cyprus! If you do, hire a car!

Just returned from a lovely week at the Moniatis Hotel Limassol.
We booked through Olimpic holidays web sight as 3star HB Limassol alocated on arrival and arrived late at night not knowing where we was and was shoked the next morning to discover we was a 5min drive from the tourist area of Limassol and asked our rep for a move closer but there was no availabity so we stayed put and very glad we did.
The hotel is spotless, rooms very big but no tea making facilitys(had our own kettle though) or a mini bar or fridge so we asked at reception if we could rent one and was told you could if you had medication that had to be kept in a fridge, but i said i was willing to pay more for one and we got one for 9cyp pounds for the week.
The food was fine, apart from the puddings choice of 2 only each night, the prices at the bar wasnt to steep.
The pool was cold but you soon warmed up in there and was refreshing in the lovely winter temp up to the mid 80`s and there was ample sun beds and lovely grounds to sunbath in,it was so relaxing .
we had an early departure and was made a cup of tea by George the night watch man as we waited for our pick up,all the staff were very freindly and helpfull.
I would recomend this hotel if you wanted to chill out or was to hire a car to see cyprus we taxi shared every night in to the tourist area of Limassol with a very nice couple(Julie & Al)who we met at the hotel, get them to drop you at the Castle appts and you in the middle of the tourist area, i recomend Shakesperes for food and drink .
I was not to impressed with Limassol much perfer Phapos and Aya napa and will return to Cyprus soon.
