Having made reservations at the last moment, my wife and I had to change rooms to be able to cover our stay in Salida. Lucky us! The first room was great with a great view of the park across the street from huge windows. The second room was better! Larger with even more huge windows! One of our nieces (we... More

Had a girls weekend to celebrate one of our friends birthday. We stayed in the Madonna Mine Suite. LOVE, LOVE,LOVED! The suites are immaculate, tastefully decorated, and the beds are so comfortable! The staff is so nice and professional. The continental breakfast that is brought right to your door is wonderful. We all could not stop talking about how much... More

Fall in love with Salida and let the Palace help you get there; unless you own a home in town, there's no better place to stay. Quaint historic hotel with fabulous remodeled & updated rooms in the heart of Historic Downtown, just steps from the Arkansas River and directly across from the park; restaurants galore withing walking distance (check the... This old hotel, is right in historic downtown, and you can see the Arkansas River from it. The rooms are unique and the quality is fine. I especially appreciated the check in and how friendly he was to the point he carried my luggage up the two flights of stairs, since there is no elevator. Even the continental breakfast (included... The Palace Hotel is a charming, well appointed, comfortable historical hotel in the center of the vibrant city of Salida. Our room had large windows facing the city park with a view of the Arkansas River. The small kitchen with table and chairs was a wonderful spot to enjoy our fresh brewed coffee, juice and muffin which was delivered to... More

Superb customer service. Comfortable room with great views. Unbeatable location, with downtown Salida shopping & dining from next door to a few blocks packed with delightful shops. Fishing on "gold medal" trout river, the Arkansas within walking distance, as well as driving. I also suggest that fishermen take advantage of Arkanglers Fly Fishing Shop and Guides. As a result of... More

Hotel rooms and the entire hotel has been very tastefully updated while keeping the historical flavor of the property. Very comfortable and great location, with a nice touch for the complimentary room service breakfast.

We loved our weekend stay. Perfect for our needs. Two couples. Stayed in Suite 205: a two-bedroom, one-bath suite in the back (northeast) corner of the hotel on the second floor. Clean. Comfortable. Breakfast items fresh and delicious. Updated. Modern amenities with appropriate nods to hotel's Victorian roots. Friendly attentive staff. Walkable to all things good in downtown. Only negatives... Four girlfriends on an over-nighter to Salida for some relaxation and shopping. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional! Breakfast was a treat - warm muffins, yogurt and granola and orange juice. Couldn't have been better.

We stayed at the Palace last weekend as a stop on the way to Aspen from Albuquerque. We purposely avoided the chains thinking a downtown Salida stay would allow us to enjoy the place. We were correct. This is a beautiful small town with historic roots that are abundantly displayed in it architecture and the quality of its downtown. With... More
