Excellent stay! Room was small but very clean, had everything we needed, and was dog friendly! They provide bags and a trash to pick up after pets. Lots of options for breakfast. Can walk to a few places to eat or drink too. We will be back!
If you want to sleep, don't stay here. Walls are paper thin and you have no control over neighbors who keep their TVs on full blast all night long. If you think you can reach the front desk for help, you can't! No staff after 9 so you are literally on your own to resolve any potential issues with your stay. And if you try to follow up with staff during business hours, good luck with that too - I've called almost every day for two weeks and can't get someone to call me back regardless of how many times I've been promised by different employees that they will personally call me back tomorrow. Additionally, they aren't family-friendly, they do not offer cribs for infants. Price is appealing but not worth it in the end. UPDATE: Owner promised a refund over a week ago and still no refund posted. UPDATE: Asked owner if the refund was made and when I could expect to see refund as nothing has posted to my credit card almost a week after previous conversation. He said "yes, and that depends on your credit card company." UPDATE: Spoke with owner tonight and he admitted to lying about ever processing a refund because he wasn't pleased with my review. Then proceeded to assume, "it sounds like you were cranky checking in since we didn't have kids cribs." (Which was feedback given in my review). Customer service is disgusting and they are completely unethical. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Current business name is Sinawav Trail Lodge.…
Nice little old fashion drive up to the door motel, friendly staff. Good for an overnight stay. Rooms are small but could be made to seem larger if it weren’t for all the heavy thick wood furniture that takes over the space. Comfortable bed. Hot water in shower fluctuates. Has a laundry that apparently the locals come and use as we met a lady there that was doing her laundry and she said she lived in town. Nice playground for kids and interesting wood carvings made from dead trees. The back of the property needs to be cleaned up a bit as it looks junky. Otherwise, the room was clean and the motel looked in decent shape.
We stayed here one night recently. It was acceptable for one night, but I would not have wanted to stay longer. We arrived at night and the parking lot is not very well lit, so we were immediately a little turned off by the place. The room was pretty small - especially with a king size bed in it. When we woke in the morning, the sun was up and we could see light coming in through cracks in the door. Not around the door - through the middle of the door. I imagine that would be pretty cold in the winter. The room had relatively new finishes except for the bathroom - it looked pretty old. The shower base was worn in a few spots to the point of rust.
Well, at first glance, I was not sure. Sketchy area and they have long term residents in some rooms. We stayed in number 5, which has two queen beds of differing heights. Both feel quite firm. Elk hunting lodge theme. Room was 42 degrees when I first got here. Call and ask them to put the heater on at least 2 hours before your arrival. This room has a walk in shower. They provide soap, shampoo but no hairdryer, so bring one. There is a coffee pot, fridge and microwave. Front door not sealed at all and the cold air was co.ing in. It is very close to restaurants and wonderful downtown Salida. I would say give it a try if you want a couple of nights for under 200.00.
