Great hotel on the ocean in st. Augustine. FL. Had a reservation for 2 nights but a hurricane was forming in south florida where we live, we checked into the front office and asked the manager if we could stay just one night and be refunded the 2nd night so we could secure our home, she graciously agreed to our request. We have stayed there many times and their employees are the best!
The Saint Augustine Beach House is a wonderful place. The rooms are great and the view of the beach is awesome. The staff are most friendly and accommodating--and the freshly made hot breakfast is a bonus! I highly recommend staying here.
We LOVED our stay at the Saint Augustine Beach House. The location is perfect…right on the beach (which has a ton of shells). The rooms are very spacious with very cute beach decor. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here!
I honestly will share the good, the bad, and just OK. First time in Florida so I was looking for the “Beach House feeling” which I found here, the place is as the photos show and is very quiet and nice we didn’t want to go anywhere else around but to St. Augustine historic district and the Lighthouse,we only had 4 days so we explored the most important. I was disappointed of the ocean tides and weather 🌊 no wonder no one swims there and I had no idea of that, maybe is not season time but to be off season the price for rooms is a bit much ($350-$400) per night, we were practically paying for a beach front and not the nice weather or warm beach in front of us. (For off season it should be less per night) The staff is very very nice and helpful and always with a great smile willing to help us with anything we needed it, I give them a 10+ 👍🏼 The website lacks to mention the property is 3 floors and there’s not an elevator and maybe the only handicapped accessible in the 1st floor, the best view is in the third floor which we liked a lot but going up and down to the office for breakfast and anything is a lot for people with knee and leg problems like my old (grumpy)veteran husband. 😁 Our room needed a more deep cleaning, updating or painting especially the doors, the towels are “cheap” and small, they feel rough like a motel feeling, the toaster was old and useless it burned my toasts and bagel the four days straight, one time setting the fire detection alarm for a few seconds. (Please remplace the toaster they cost $15 in Walmart) The TV is pretty small and the furniture is okay but not high end the bed backrest moves a lot due to the cheap mattress frame. The coffee brand wasn’t the best.We didn’t request daily housekeeping but they picked up the trays and recycle right away from outside the door. I never saw the “Breakfast dinning room” portrayed in the photos. We were redirected to the back patio to a table so we ate in our room the next days. (Yes going up and down the stairs wasn’t easy, so now I wonder where was that “nice breakfast room) They provide chairs, towels and toys and umbrellas for the beach 🏖. I did not like breakfast very much but husband did, to me it was cold and I’d had better ones in cheaper hotels a boxed one is not for me. Everything is closer, the pier to walk and places to eat (We enjoyed Beaches restaurant and 180 Vilano grill and pizza 🍕 ) Publix is like 5 minutes walk. The Beach house offers discount and information to everything in St. Augustine. In conclusion I do recommend it for a relaxing vacations away from the main touristic areas, you can easily drive and come back and rest. Like I mentioned, you are paying for a clean “beach House feeling” (useless in my opinion in October-November) I’m not sure if I’ll go back again, for $1,500 for four days I can find a better place I was mislead by the pics and reviews, but I do recommend it just try to get a good price or deal and don’t go off season, maybe in the summer the weather and water is better for swimming but hopefully room prices are not double. I’m not sure I would go back here again,we had stayed at better hotels for less but thanks for everything. :)…
Great place to stay if you really want to be in the beach. Every room has a balcony, so you really don’t even have to get a chair and sit on the beach to enjoy the sounds and smells of the beach. But, if you want to sit on the beach, chairs and towels are provided, and even if you are a slow walker you can get there in two minutes. Also provided is breakfast, not just a continental breakfast, but a full breakfast. It’s boxed up and ready for you to pick up within 5 minutes of you requesting that you are ready for breakfast.
Everything was wonderful the people who worked there and the hotel. Nice to have the mini kitchen in it, came in handy. We really enjoyed it and loved it on the ocean Walking distance to the pier and driving distance to historical St. Augustine
It's right on the beach! Umbrellas, chairs, and towels are provided. Publix is a 3 minute walk and Puccini's pizza next to Publix is delicious. 10 minute drive to downtown St Augustine. Breakfast is included and delicious. We will be back!
I'm hesitant to broadcast how wonderful this place is because I want it all to myself! The location is spectacular - you can fall asleep to the surf and wake up to a gorgeous sunrise. Their breakfasts really hit the mark - way better than the usual boring cereal, toast and yogurt you get at chain hotels. Definitely take advantage of their bespoke breakfast options. You can even get dessert for breakfast. They provide beach chairs, umbrellas and towels for a seamless beach experience. Dogs are more than welcome - they are celebrated - which is important for our family, and something for those non dog enthusiasts to consider before booking. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location excellent. We drove over to the Reef a couple miles north on the beach. Excellent restaurant. We will definitely be back.…
Hearty breakfast, Small hotel end of the road, no traffic, wonderful employees, great location. Quiet Ocean view rooms; Publix and restaurants in walking distance. We liked everything. Win win situation
Excellent stay, beautiful views & scenery & wonderful service. My only objection is we booked for next spring too & the room has gone up $150-175 for same dates from this past spring's dates. That is not inflation but something drastically wrong. It has upset us so that is affected our wonderful stay this time last week. We keep trying to just let it go, however, so far it hasn't. We are planning our 50th wedding anniversary there next spring & I'm afraid it will mar our new anniversary celebration. if cost is not adjusted. It will be our 4th time there & every one of them has been truly amazing, but this cost increase next March may knock us out of many more. We are scheduled for next October too, so we shall see. Please adjust our upcoming spring rates.
