The Grand Imperial is a charming old hotel. My room was much larger than I expected. My king sized bed was extremely comfortable. The windows in the room opened and there was a ceiling fan. The staff were lovely--very friendly and helpful. My room was opposite from the street, so I did not experience much street noise. There is no...

We came up on the train and spent the night at the Grand Imperial Hotel. The woman at the front desk was in period costume and told us all about the history of the hotel. The recent restoration is quite nice. We were on the third floor with a great room. We even had a sitting area at the top...

A very recent restoration of this old hotel, built in 1882 for a New Yorker, Mr. Thompson, makes it the crown jewel of Green Street, the main drag in town. I saw an article in the local paper describing how the family owning the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge RR purchased the property in 2015 and invested heavily in restoring it. And...

My family and I were passing through, stayed for one night, after a long day of traveling and getting up early in the morning, a good night sleep is what we were looking for. The hotel was nice, the room smelled good and it was clean. I was very disappointed in the fact we were not told Karaoke would be...

We stayed in the Grand Imperial a few years ago before renovation, and they have definitely improved it. Our room was on the third floor in the corner of the hotel overlooking the town's "Sound Park", a side street and Main Street. It was part of the original hotel. (The second floor was occupied by city offices until the construction...

Wow, thank you for being so detailed in your feedback! We will absolutely assist anyone who needs help taking their bags to their room and if this is not offered by the front desk agent, please ask to speak to the Hotel Manager. We realize our altitude can be a challenge to many people.

We stayed in a room overlooking the entrance and it was beautiful. It may not be ideal for anyone who likes to sleep in though; with the people starting their day early you will hear the dudes taking off on their motorcycles, atvs & cars/trucks passing by. This was an experience and a walk back in time. The bed was...

Silverton is a busy place during the summer season, we do have a bit of hustle and bustle. Thank you for your feedback and choosing to stay at the Grand Imperial.

Rooms just recently renovated. Brand new bathrooms with claw foot tubs. Excellent bed. New HDTV. Staff was really nice, gave us the tour of the unique features from the 1800s that still exist. No elevator available so pack accordingly, just don't let that stop you. Only thing lacking was not to have coffee available either in your room or downstairs...

First of all, everyone there was super friendly. I was there for 4th of July and it was nearly all sold out of course, yet they were able to accommodate a room that was pet . friendly for my dog Loki. This hotel has undergone a huge transformation, the room was impeccable, and completely renovated. The bathroom was beautiful, the...

We stayed at this wonderful old hotel, lovingly restored by the Harper family for two nights which included the narrow gauge train ride from Durango (an experience not to be missed). What a beautiful job they have done. The staff is very friendly and helpful...they even carry your bags up the stairs to your room-no elevator). Our room was very...

Was excited to stay here. If you are looking to spend 200+ a night and there not be coffee available anywhere in the building, this is your place. True, when making the reservation I asked if there was a coffee pot or refrigerator in the room. I was told no but that I could come downstairs for coffee. OK, figured...

Thank you for your honest feedback, we chose not to place alarm clocks in the rooms as most people prefer to use their phones but we do have clocks available at the front desk should a guest desire to use one during their stay. We lease the space to the coffee shop which opens at 7:00 am each day. The...
