Gorgeous, unique cabins right on the Rio Grande river with amazing river and mountain views! Tastefully designed by owners Fritz and Paula who built these beautiful cabins themselves! Flowers everywhere, rich green sod which is a treat in the Rockies and unique decorations! Very comfortable bed and lots of hot water! Good internet so we could get some work done! Their border collie Cobi was very entertaining! You can fish right in front of your cabin! We had a great time and will be back! Oh, one morning a big buck was looking in our window! So fun!

It's always tough to write a review for places that you love so much you don't want others to know about them, but that's not fair, is it? We last visited Riverside Meadows in 2019 and couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately COVID and other things happened that kept us away until just recently (8/23). We were so very happy to visit again! Riverside Meadows is located just steps from the upper Rio Grande river near South Fork. It's rather secluded, quiet, and such a great place to get away and chill. The owners built the cabins themselves and have tastefully decorated them. Some might consider them "rustic" but we don't. They are really nice and comfy, with adequate room and good amenities. Fritz and Paula are wonderful folks who are always willing to help ensure that their guests have a great stay. Riverside Meadows is a few miles outside of South Fork and the cabins don't have kitchens (but they do have outdoor gas grills). For us, that meant finding places to eat, and there aren't many in South Fork. That's a downside we didn't mind because we love the cabins and their setting. We're already trying to figure out when we can visit again! Highly recommend!

We found this place when searching for a cabin in South Fork. The property is peaceful and beautiful. It sits alongside a stretch of gold medal waters of the Rio Grande. Caught a nice German Brown! The cabin was clean and comfortable and the hosts so kind and helpful. We are going back! Cant wait. The price for what you get cannot be beat. The Riveras

We stayed for a week at Riverside Meadows and loved every single day of being there. The hosts were amazingly welcoming and helpful while giving us plenty of space to pretend we lived there. Everything was clean, well-organized, and in good working shape. The sound of the Rio Grande creates a beautiful, relaxing calm. The location is excellent as amazing hikes are a short drive away and it is close to a well-stocked grocery store. We enjoyed cooking on the propane grills and preparing food in the well-stocked Studio kitchen. Beds were comfortable with soft sheets and good pillows. Furniture and layout of the studio was excellent. We had 2 adults and 2 dogs in the Studio and felt that we had plenty of space. The ceilings are a bit low, but somehow that just added to the charm. I can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful place and the lovely hosts - Fritz, Paula, and daughter Sadi are the best. If you are lucky enough to snag a few nights here, you will not be disappointed.

We were traveling through on business and needed a place to stop during the night. I found this on TA and I can say we were sad we only had a day to spend in this clean, riverside cabin. Fritz and Paula were gracious hosts and even waited up for a late night check in. Cozy, comfortable literally right on the river with a fire pit etc. the pictures do it no justice and were hoping to come back and stay longer next time through plus reasonable.

Riverside Meadows Cabins are ideally located, off the beaten path (do not use google maps) use the instructions given by Fritz. The cabins are located adjacent to Rio Grande river in the gold metal fishing waters on 8 private-secluded acres. The cabins are Norwegian-style dovetail log homes, there are three and we stayed in the guest cabin. The cabin is really beautiful, nice view of the river from the front window and screen door. Their are homey touches throughout the cabin that represent the Norwegian culture such as hand-carved colorful masks and traditional clothing, it has a queen sleigh bed that is very comfortable, large bathroom and closet-very clean. We did not use the Wifi, wanted to stay disconnected. Amenities included a hot tub on site, and inflatable kayaks with shuttle service. We only spent one night here, but think it would be a great basecamp. We really wish we could have spent our entire week here. Fritz and Paula Allen are the ideal hosts provide help when needed. You will awake to the sounds of the river early in the morning. For fishing along the bank there is 70 feet of river frontage to fish, the best method was to cast upstream and let the fly run with the current. Hubby caught a really nice brown trout. The fishing here is really awesome, would highly recommend staying here just for the fishing.

Wow, thanks for taking so much time to leave a wonderful review. We are very fortunate to live where we do and really enjoy being able to share it with people so its really nice to hear you enjoyed your stay. One correction I would make is that we have over 700 (I am sure 70 feet is a typo) feet of river frontage. Thanks again, Fritz, Paula, Sadi and Kenai

This place is amazing!!!! The owners are beyond nice. My husband has a fear of water and I really wanted to kayak. They talked us through the whole process, and then went above and beyond to go with us. ( I think this is based on how busy they are) this was one of my top adventures. The ride was about 2hours. Cabins right on the river. They have hot tube, kayaking, and grills all included. Only thing depending on time of year, be prepared for mosquitoes. However the do provide bug spray. We will definitely be going back. Again just amazing owners and experience.

We stayed 4 nights this past week while skiing at Wolf Creek. Very comfortable cabins in a beautiful, tranquil setting. This is the perfect place to relax off the beaten path. The owners were super nice and accommodating. We will definitely return someday!

The cabin itself had excellent decor and was very comfortable, especially considering how cold it was outside. Fritz was a very nice person to deal with and was able to give us good information about the surrounding area. Be sure to ask him about lift tickets if you plan on skiing at Wolf Creek. The only suggestion I have would be to have a microwave alongside the existing mini-fridge.

Thanks for taking the time to do a great review, its vey appreciated. We have talked several times about adding a microwave but we have not figured out how to solve the space and power issues for that. Thanks again, Fritz and Paula
