This is about the very best experience I have had with a motel and the reason being the entire staff. They make you feel like family. They go out of their way to assist you in any way. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms contain a microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer and coffee maker and the location is right in...

Checked in with no reservation, warmly greeted by very friendly staff who volunteered senior discount and put me into one of their nicest rooms. It was recently renovated, was quite large, very clean, and very comfortable bed. This motel is downtown but still quiet at night and very conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Parking was very convenient as well....

If you are looking for a friendly welcome, clean (albeit a little tired) room and excellent value, the Alpiner Lodge is for you. If you want up-to-date, & marble floors go to the(much more) expensive hotels further out of town or in the hills. The Alpiner Lodge is well placed - a very short stoll from the shops and bars....

If you want to stay in a nice, clean and pet friendly hotel within walking distance to all of Steamboat's attractions, this is the place! The staff immediately makes you and your pet feel welcome. They also are a wealth of information regarding activities, shopping and places to dine. They also do a nice job with a continental breakfast. And...

Then location is fantastic, right downtown within perfect walking distance. An older motel , but good beds and decent sized room. Bathroom was small and older, but in decent condition and clean. Air conditioner only worked fair, continental breakfast was okay, but the eating area consisted of only 2 tables. Office lady was very considerate and helpful with local info....

First I would like to say that we checked out the Alpiner Lodge on this website and decided to stay there based on the majority of favorable opinions. It is now my opinion that people walk this earth with blinders on based on favorable economic conditions. The air conditioner did not work and it leaked on the carpet if you...

Certainly not the fanciest place around, but rates are quite cheap (especially for the excellent downtown location) and the rooms are rather large. Was nice to just park the car and walk to where we wanted to go and/or use the excellent Steamboat bus service. Would be a fine place to bring a group of friends for a fun weekend...

Great price, great town, great skiing, most friendly people in any ski town in the West! Quaint hotel so close to everything never needed a car. Took bus to ski slopes and walked home from evening outings. Snow Loving Northerener

“If you bring your own skis with you, you can leave them overnight at the base of the mountain for $5. Much easier than carrying them with you on the bus every time. There is a great ski store next door to the Alpiner. I had a problem with my boots and the boot-fitter spend about 30 minutes fixing my boots so I could ski without pain the rest of the week. All for $20!”
