We have traveled to the Rockies annually for over 20 years. We love this mountain, and this is a true ski in ski out, walk to dining and evening fun. There is just something about the Ptarmigan Inn that we adore. It is not fancy, it is just perfect for a relaxed kickback stay. A

For $200 a night I felt that this place was very overpriced. For an older somewhat run down Hotel. Steps were broken. The room is very small the bathroom was even smaller. The desk clerk was very friendly. And accommodating I just felt like we’re paying for a five star motel with

Not the most modern but close to the lifts and base area. Restaurant, bar, pool, ski shop, and ski check on site. Rooms are a bit spartan but we were there to ski not stay in the room. Daily maid service.

It's 1982 and your at the Ptarmigan Inn. Just kidding it 2018 but everything here is from way back. With all the great places in Steamboat, no reason to stay here. It's ok and gets the job done. Nothing special here.

We came into town with no reservation and after checking a few other places that were booked up, we were told by two different locations that this was high-end and had availability. There is a reason it had availability which is because it was old and not updated at all. We check

Is it true there are no eggs for breakfast? Last time I stayed the breakfast was the highlight
Thank you for the questions and answers. To be clear The Ptarmigan Inn offers a seasonal full service restaurant during ski season serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner daily. Outside of ski season, summer and fall, the Snowbird Restaurant is closed but the hotel offers a traditional continental breakfast. The items include cereal, doughnuts, pastries, cinnamon rolls, pop tarts, oatmeal, granola bars, fruit, bagels, toast, English muffins, orange juice, milk, coffee and tea. The hotel's goal is to always be transparent about what's offered and we sincerely apologize if "continental breakfast" is miss-leading. For clarity the definition follows: con·ti·nen·tal break·fast. [ˌkän(t)əˈnen(t)l ˈbrekfəst] NOUN a light breakfast, typically consisting of coffee and rolls with butter and jam. Please feel free to contact the hotel general manager anytime to discuss further. Thank you again for asking the question and to those who contributed to this forum.

Do you have refrigerators in the rooms?
There was a small refrigerator in the closet. You have to turn it on when you get in the room; they keep them turned off otherwise.

Do you allow a dog?
I remembered seeing other guests with dogs. Probably need to let the front desk know so they can communicate it to housekeeping.

What about laundry facilities?
They have washers and dryers available for guests use.
