Beautiful. The decor, atmosphere and high standard of this property are incredible. The sound of the Ocean, 1km away, although 30 mins drive, you are surrounded by fields, it is soothing to the soul. The garden offers secluded areas even when multiple guests are staying. Our Dog was welcome which always is important. Breakfast was delicious. The owners were fantastic. Book direct with them when possible. It is a mission to locate but so worth it. I give this 10 out of 10.

Used this as a one night stop on the way from the Santander ferry towards France. The owner is very friendly, speaks sufficient english to make up for our lack of Spanish, and takes enormous pride (rightly so) in his hotel. It is set on its own in the middle of lovely countryside. It has extensive gardens with outside seating places and is very peaceful - no passing traffic. The hotel has got to be the cleanest hotel we have every sayed in - every surface is scrupulously clean. Our room was a good size, with modern en-suite shower room. No aircon, and mosquitoes are a risk - so take the normal precautions. Food is limited to simple omelettes, salads, cured meats etc - but all presented with care. Wine and beer very reasonably priced. There are nearby restaurants apparently , but we didn't try them. I reckon you could easily stay two or three nights here and explore the area by car, bike or foot. Only one word of warning - trying to find the hotel by loading the official postal code into our satnav took us to a place 2km away. To find this place, go through Ajo town past the Tourist info on the right hand side and over a roundabout. There's a small road on the right a few hundred yards after the roundabout. Then right at tee junction and it is on the right.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is an old farmhouse, recently renovated with lovely gardens. Set in the countryside it is very quiet, the only sounds at night were a distant tinkling of cow bells and owls hooting. There are views across the cape to the sea, and inland to the Cantabrian mountains. We enjoyed a local walk to the river estuary, the owner, Aingeru, will show you the way. Also we had a great seafood paella in one of the restaurants in Ajo, at a very reasonable price. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean, and breakfast was good, fresh bread and fruit. Aingeru is very helpful and could not do enough for us. I highly recommend Casa Azaga.
