Our family group of 9 adults and 4 young children spent Waitangi weekend at Tory Lodge and had such a relaxing break. (Booked the whole lodge just for us) Tom and Des were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem and the food was great! We appreciated being able to use the fishing gear, lifejackets and kayaks and... More

A real pleasure to stay with Tom and Des who are both very genial hosts. Plenty of things to do, such as Kayaking, fishing, walking to see the glow worms and waterfall. Nothing too much trouble to organise. Or you could just just relax in the extensive grounds. Lovely hot tub available for use. Great service and food that Tom... More

My wife and i stayed here over christmas and thanks to Tom and Des they made it very special especially as we were miles away from home, they even including us in the fireworks display. Accommodation was excellent, a real relaxing paradise on the bay, as was the hosts. Food was delicious, we never went hungry. The scenery, fishing, kayaking,... More

Tom & Des were the ultimate hosts for our brief stay at Queens Birthday weekend. While a typically cool winter weekend the warmth of the hospitality shone. The food was tasty and we had a great time just sitting back doing as little as we pleased. We had the lodge to ourselves and Tom and Des were always available if... More

We recently spent 3 days at Tory Lodge and really enjoyed it. The water taxi from Picton was organised for us, Tom and Des were on the wharf to meet us and made us very welcome. Fantastic hospitality, great facilities and delicious home cooked meals. Spent time fishing and walking in the Hills behind the Lodge. We'll be back.

We were fortunate to have won this weekend away due to the generosity of Tory Lodge's, Tom & Des and Arrow Water Taxis. Both had donated this prize to raise money for the Marlborough Rescue Helicopter. From the moment we stepped onto the wharf we were treated like old friends. Nothing was ever too much trouble. we were both stoked... More

Who knew that just 5 minutes rowing out in Des & Tom's yellow dinghy would secure a snapper and a cod for our New Years feast….while the others enjoyed checking out the surrounding bays in the kayaks. Just a couple of days at Tory Lodge over New Years to catch up with a kiwi mate and his lovely English girlfriend... More

We spent 3 weeks in New Zealand and our only regret was to not spend more time at Tory Lodge, an idyllic setting combined with the perfect hosts. “We initially booked one room but Tom emailed to say the best room was still available which was the one looking over the gardens and bay if we wanted to switch (same price) so rely on Tom to give you the best available.”

“We had booked the front chalet but were upgraded to the upstairs Queen Charlotte Apartment, which was great. Technically I think the front chalet would have had a slightly better view of the sea, but it all depends on how much space you want. Chalets are studio rooms, and the apartment has one double bedroom and a loft bedroom with 1 double and two singles.”

“We were very lucky to have both the 2 bedroom apartment and the front suite facing the Sounds for our family group of birthday mum + two adult children + partners. It was glorious waking up to the view of the Sounds straight down the driveway from the front suite, however the spacious and private apartment was great for the couples.”
