I love Beautiful Litchfield, we had a nice sized room + big comfy bed. w a wood burning fireplace. The management prepared wood for our arrival. Overall- Excellent communication, w deck overlooking wooded grounds. Is the decor slightly dated? yes. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly and accommodated every request. I'd be happy to enjoy this historic inn again! Free parking
This is a charming Inn located off the beaten track, absolutely a hidden gem! The outside appears plain at first look, but once you step in, you appreciate its warmth and coziness. It is charmingly decorated, both in the comfortable sitting room and individual accommodations. The rooms are large and the four poster beds very comfortable. It features an expanded continental breakfast in the large dining area. the host (the owners' daughter) is friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the country feel of the Inn. An enthusiastic thumbs up!
While the staff were very nice, this place is tired and old. I thought I was booking a nice room in a historic inn. The room was musty smelling, but we accepted it. Then, as I was getting into bed for the night, I discovered Mouse Droppings ON OUR BED! There was a hole chewed through on the pillowcase! When we called the manager, he said he was 30 minutes away, and he would be right there to get us another room. This new room was larger, and it had a canopy bed, but I almost expected to see the ghost of Christmas Past, it was so old and outdated! I would never recommend this place to ANYONE! They should update their rooms and be sure they are free of pests before allowing paying customers to stay there!
Spent one wonderful day and night at this charming B&B located just a couple miles outside picturesque Litchfield, CT. The room was good size and the surrounding grounds well maintained and peaceful. The staff were particuarly accomodating as they had to make special arrangements for us as we were arriving well after "closing" hours and they also were kind enough to mail us a pair of prescription glasses we had left behind (and at no charge!). Many rooms have been restored with great detail. Litchfield is a beatutiful town with many historic colonial homes. Pets may be allowed in certain rooms.
I have been meaning to write this review for a couple of months. Here goes...This Inn is a cozy looking inn nestled in the woods, Very picturesque. There are three buildings that are all quaint and charming. However we stayed in the main building. This was by far the one of the "nicest" room we have stayed in! I brought my boyfriend there for a couple of nights for his birthday. We travel a lot and have been to many Inns this one was one of the nicest. If you like quaint and nostalgic this is the INN. Nestled in a beautiful setting and I loved the history of the INN and of Litchfield. Breakfast down stairs was very satisfying more than some of the bigger hotel chains. There is plenty to do in the surrounding towns, We were lucky enough to catch a show at Warner Theater in then next town over, Also rich with history and very nostalgic…
