This is mainly a seasonal campground and not geared to the occasional visitor. We spent two nights there recently and would not recommend it to those traveling through the area. The good news is that the owners, management and maintenance are friendly, responsive, and very helpful. Every request was immediately taken care of. The restrooms and showers are clean and updated. The bad news is this is not a resort, the photos on the website are not reflective of the campground and not what we expected. Our site was so small our 20' travel trailer and truck could not fit side by side, the truck was parked along the road. Overall the campsites are crowded and close together. When it rained our site was flooded with 2" of water for the day. For larger rigs, this would be a difficult campground to navigate.

I have camped here for 4 years with my RV. I cant say enough about how friendly the campers and co-op owners are. Very clean facilities....fun activities. All around great experience! Highly recommended!

My wife and I had been looking for a nice campground in the Litchfield CT area and found Hemlock Hills. We visited several in the area and finally settled here. The camp ground is in very good condition, and the place is managed and maintained like a typical co-op, so everyone is involved. The pool is terrific and there are activities and crafts every Sat for the kids and something going on in the pavilion Sat night. The activities committee and the office staff are super, as are the grounds maintenance guys!! The campground also has several weekend and tenting sites, so there is something literally for everyone. We couldn't be happier and are now full time seasonal residents and have made several new and lasting friendships here at Hemlock. If you are in the area, stop by and say hi to Glenn & Lynn. Take care and safe travels..

we stayed here for one night as we were visiting friends in the area. it's a pretty area, pretty far from a highway and without a doubt, the most difficult site we have ever parked in. it was tortuous; if my husband had not been an amazing driver, we would never have been able to stay....

My family and I were seasonal campers at Hemlock Hills from July 2000 until October 2006. Back then two sets of owners had problems with the running of the campground. But a cooperative, which had been part of the camp took it over three plus years ago and have turned it around. My seasonal site was right on the pond as one enters into the campground. During all of our years there, there were plenty of activities, for children as well as adults. The sites for "weekenders" have water and electrical hookups (some). Our neighbors were Karl and Trudy who were wonderful people and are deeply involved with the "turning around" of the campground. I have driven through the camp this past summer. It brings back great memories...Friday night bingo, Christmas in July, Dances, Horse racing to name a few. The town of Litchfield itself is a great place to visit. And check out nearby {eaches and Cream Ice cream shop (read my review on that).
