House of 1833 is charm defined. Originally owned by the Brown family (of Brown University), there is history oozing in every room. Evan and Robert are the consummate hosts, and their breakfasts are unbeatable. The location is ideal, just a quick car ride to the seaport, the aquarium, the old village, and (of course) Mystic Pizza. The only thing that...

This was our secong time back to the House of 1833. It was just as delightful this time as well. Our goal is to try all the rooms and decide which one is our favorite. This time we stayed in the Oak room and absolutely loved it. The large screen TV, the whirlpool jacuzzi and fireplace was everything we hoped...

We had a total of 10 people, including our teen aged kids, and their aunts and uncles, and rented the entire house. It was so much fun. The innkeepers went out of their way to ensure our comfort and enjoyment, and the house was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We are going to make this our new traditiona! Better hurry...

Evan and Robert are the kindest, most welcoming innkeepers. There are no words for how delicious the 2 breakfasts were that we enjoyed. My daughter and I were visiting the area for potential grad school options and found this location to be fantastic for day trips up the coast and to wineries. Every single restaurant and area that Evan recommended...

House of 1833 was our first B&B experience on our honeymoon 10 years ago and they set the standard for B&Bs for us. Breakfast is always outstanding as Robert is excellent in the kitchen and he and Evan always make us feel part of the family. This was our 4th trip to New England in 10 years and our 4th...

After a bit of a shaky start we had a lovely time. Very interesting place, lovely building with lots of history. Evan and Robert are very good hosts. After an excellent nights sleep in a very comfy bed we had a lovely breakfast. Just one thing prevents me from giving full marks, the towels were very old and need replacing.

We have stayed at the House of 1833 many times now. My husband and I absolutely love it. The house itself is beautiful, the rooms have everything you need to hibernate for days if you would like but there are so many things to look at - the pictures, antiques and gardens and then there is the luscious breakfasts and...

This was my first visit to a B&B and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. Evan and Robert are the most gracious hosts. From the special touches to our room in celebration to their great knowledge of the area and history. Sunday pancake breakfast was the best !

Built in 1833 (surprise!), this home is filled with period pieces and details. I could have spent a week looking at the paintings, posters, and objects and still not exhaust this wonderful collection, many from Robert's own family. But this is not just a period piece. All amenities are available, and the hosts are eager to accommodate guests. We're a...
