The tone of the House of 1833 is set as soon as you walk into the small lobby, and even before you meet a real person. There on a pedestal is a bust of some eighteenth century dignitary. It may even be George Washington. He has a garland of dark red paper roses round his neck, and wears a large...

My husband and I stayed at 1833 this weekend and loved every minute of it. Evan was so warm and friendly. The copula room is great with a fireplace and hot tub. The room itself is a bit cluttered with nicknacks so make sure you check it thoroughly for forgotten items. Breakfast both mornings was delicious with fresh baked pastry...

We LOVE the House of 1833. The very first time we stayed swas for our anniversary alittle over a year ago and he surprised me with the trip. When we pulled up, I looked at him with that evil look in my eye "like seriously?! This is where you too me?" But, we got inside and were greeted by the...

Spent the weekend with wonderful friends at the House of 1833. It was my first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast and I have to tell you how wonderful the experience was. Everything about this place is wonderful. The hosts Evan and Robert make you feel so welcome. The gourmet breakfast is deliscious and out of this world. The...

Stayed with Evan and Robert last weekend with some great friends. When you look at the pictures on the website you see the typical Victorian Inn they don't do the places justice. As you check in you will be given a wonderful tour of the house and the amazing gardens. Evan will explain the pieces and their history and how...

We stayed here 3 nights for a much needed getaway. Booked at the last minute and were lucky they had a room available. The Peach room is an amazing mix of Asian and Victorian wonders! The hand carved bed is beyond description and the walk in shower room was great. There is artwork, decorations and antiques in every corner- it...

We drove 4 hours to stay here but some one else was in our room! Seems there was a mix up! Our reservation never got there, somewhere in the clouds I guess! Meanwhile, we got the tour, place looks great, garden amazing, pool lovely, rooms beautiful. Maybe someday we will stay here! The owner found us another room down the...

I'm grateful to Evan and Robert for our recent stay at this inn. The exquisite historic property, decor and gardens are only the beginning. We were greeted warmly and led to our room, which was decked out on behalf of the special occasion we were celebrating. Breakfasts were home cooked and delicious, the pool was sparkling and lovely, the giant...

To stay at the House of 1833 is to find out and enjoy what a Bread and Breakfast is meant to be. Our host Evan and Robert are warm and gracious and make you feel like loved family members. The house is warm and the decorations are beautiful antiques. The garden could be the envy of most small town botanical...
