This was our first stay and it was a pleasure from first to last. Our 100% positive experience began when Casey checked us in. Casey was able to prove that a check in experience can be more than just taking guests' information. She was truly welcoming. She was also informative, efficient, and pleasant.
The hotel is very nicely located. It's near the Mystic Aquarium, Olde Mystic Village, a short drive to Mystic Seaport and the rest of town.
It's also very convenient to I-95 and yet, because it is slightly removed from the main road, you will never be disturbed by the sound of traffic.
The room was perfectly clean and very, VERY well-appointed: Mini-fridge, microwave, single-cup coffee/tea maker, bar sink, and safe.
It was also spacious, with room for a large, comfortable sofa and a well-lit work space.
A geneerous breakfast bar is included in the price of your stay. There were plenty of hot and cold options, but what impressed me greatly was the Hyatt Mystic Place's thoughtfulness in providing a very nice selection of gluten-free items. (Neither of us has gluten issues, but it still bears mentioning for those who do.)
I think this hotel is an excellent choice for either business, family, or couples travel. You will get a good night's sleep and an all-around great experience.

We stayed for one night over a holiday weekend, and fortunately we had reservations because we heard they were completely sold out for the night. This worried me as we were traveling with our infant son and sold out hotels are often noisy, but we didn't hear a peep from anyone for our entire stay, which I found impressive.
At check-in Steve was so helpful, pointing out details that new parents would need (like when the local CVS closed and where the nearest 24hr store was located).
The room was clean and well appointed, complete with a fridge and sink area that made storing milk and food for the baby super easy.
Highly recommend this family friendly hotel!

This Hyatt isn't as 'fancy'/upscale as maybe one would expect of the Hyatt chain, but in some ways that's a good thing, because we get to enjoy the same amenities at a more affordable price. The hotel is very centrally located within walking distance of both Mystic Village and the aquarium, but unlike some centrally-located hotels, this place doesn't rely on location at the expense of comfort. The bed was super comfortable, the room was spacious, and everything worked smoothly. Staff were very friendly. There's a free and tasty breakfast included, as well as free parking (a bonus when wanting to walk to nearby attractions). We saw staff cleaning shared surfaces frequently, which was much appreciated.

The location of this hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from Old Mystic Village and the aquarium and a short drive to the Mystic waterfront. The facilities are clean and it is clear that the health and safety of guests is a priority. Wrapping the TV remote is genius! There are hand sanitizer machines near high traffic areas and signs posted limiting the number of guests who can use the elevator at one time. The only thing that was a little concerning was the lack of spacing for social distancing at the bar area. It was nice that the bar was open, but it was unnecessary for there to be stools at the bar when there was no barrier between the seats or in front of the bartender, especially when there were tables along the perimeter that guests could sit in that provided social distancing. Hopefully someday we won't have to worry about things like this, but for now there seems to be an easy solution for this little issue. Overall, our stay at this Hyatt hotel was extremely pleasant and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the HYatt Mystic Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14.. we got there early and they told us the room wasn’t ready yet but we were free to use the pool, and they would text us when the room is ready. I will say the pool is very very nice it was clean and inviting. Unfortunately they never texted us and we had to go out and find out that our room is ready. I asked to have a room that no pet has been in and they told me that was impossible that every room in the hotel is pet friendly. I didn’t read anything about that on the website and I found it very strange because every hotel I’ve been in they have a few pet friendly rooms set aside. The clerk behind the desk looked in the book ,and said the best he could do was give me a room that there has been no dog in since June. he proceeded up to the room and it’s a typical Hyatt Place room queen size bed on one side a slight partition next to that a couch area desk refrigerator with a bar type thing above it… very tiny bathroom that has the sink outside the bathroom , with a lot of wasted space that they could actually put a second sink in. The bed is very comfortable I will give them that. Furniture in the room is kind of worn down , the whole place needs to be redone ,all the rooms need to be refurbished… The location is very good especially if you’re going to downtown Mystic ,anywhere really in the area it’s a prime location ,and this is probably why they’re able to get $400 a night on a weekend in August…. As far as the complementary breakfast it would do them well to offer up some bacon… all in all it was an OK stay. For me the pool was the selling point.

After comparing properties around, we chose the Hyatt Place Mystic because of the price, location, and breakfast. It was a good choice. Very convenient to the highway and attractions. The room was comfortable enough - although the bed could have been a bit better, it wasn't bad.

I've always enjoyed my stay at any Hyatt. The rooms are spacious and signing up for the member rewards gets you a free breakfast and a couple free waters. The staff is almost always friendly and willing to help. I've only once and on this last stay had any type of complaint. Don't leave things out you don't want to be missing. Full disclosure - it was my free water coupons. Still left me with an uneasy feeling. So, my one piece of advise is to remember you they put a safe in the room for a reason and you don't know who will be cleaning your room..

I had been staying at another hotel when they decided to triple the rate, so I booked a room at Hyatt short notice, and have no regrets at all. I stayed 3 nights. Each time I needed absolutely anything, someone would either get it for me, or come up with something similar if they didn’t have it. They keep bowls and plates out along with flatware, so you can get takeout from one of the billion restaurants in the area. Who likes to eat out of a styrofoam container? The coffee was always good and not old tasting. I had a few drinks at the bar while watching football. They had a nice selection and the meals they served were very good as well. The parking lot is designed in a way that keeps it from becoming cluttered with cars piled on top of each other. I’ll probably stay at this place over and over while in that area. It’s been my favorite. I was disappointed that they didn’t seem to have a laundry service there, but that’s okay. The laundromat wasn’t far away.

Food, bar and amenities were a D- at best. Don't eat the hotel breakfast, the eggs were like styrofoam, the bagels/toast were old and stale... The coffee was the best part and it wasn't that great. Be sure to bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap as well, which is a pain if you're traveling from a long distance but the ones the hotel supplies are terrible.

The property is nice but not worth $358 with tax for 1 night. I did book this last minute but I thought we would satisfied since this is a Hyatt. There are very little amenities besides a pool, a tiny gym, bar, store and the free breakfast is 1/2 step above a continental breakfast which is why we booked this hotel since I thought I would save on going out to eat. We we very disappointed with the breakfast.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. It is a very convenient location and is in walking distance to the aquarium and local restaurants; however there are other hotels near by at a lot lower price point.

Good day, I was given two complimentary half-littre bottles and did not touch the expensive one - if you noticed it is Evian brand, import from France hence the price tag. Hotels in all corners of the world usually sell minibar items at a much higher price than store prices however nobody is forcing us to buy...

Ossining, New York14 contributions1 helpful vote
We did not see the shuttle during our stay, but I would call the front desk to verify. They were extremely COVID19 adherent there, e.g., limited time at the pool, only 4 at the gym, only two persons on the elevator at a time, and social distancing in public areas. Everything was clean and they were constantly disinfecting, so I’m sure the shuttle bus will have the same rules, if in fact it is available.

Is the pool open? Is breakfast still being served?
Answer from Camille Hyatt
Ossining, New York14 contributions1 helpful vote
The pool is open, but families only allowed 1 hour increments. And I believe only 5 families at once. If the next hour is booked after your 1 hour is up, you must leave. You can stay an additional hour if those time slots are not booked. They enforce this to the fullest, no exceptions, and they provide a key to the pool and it locks behind you. Breakfast bags are served, no buffet. Boiled eggs, granola bars, muffins, oranges, bananas, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, assortment of juices. Most people bring back to their rooms.
