After arriving in town my family and I checked out a few places to stay, several were seedy and some were in close proximity to the railroad tracks. One had pool visible from the highway (my wife said she would not use it and be on display). We called the Chamber of Commerce and they recommended the Heritage Motor Inn. We stayed several nights and were very happy. The place is a small family run motel, the owners were very helpful in planning our day trips, suggesting dining spots, fishing spots, etc. We even found out where Katherine Hepburn had lived! There was a continental breakfast in the morning, which we ate poolside. Over all, the people were friendly and knowledgeable, and the place was clean. We plan on going back in the Fall to do some outlet shopping.

I have stayed at the Heritage Motor Inn several times. Twice with my 2 teenage boys and husband and twice with my entire family, which includes my elderly parents. There are several things I like about this small motor inn. First, it is immaculate...they keep it spotless. Second, the young couple, Kris and Neil, that run the motel live in the historical house adjacent to the motel (so they are there to check you in and out and available if you have any problems...even at 3 am in the morning...they live there!)
Third, my parents have difficulty walking...so I could park their car directly outside their room and bring in my father's oxygen machine (I apologize that I don't know the technical term for this cumbersome machine) and their luggage...no stairs, everything on one floor.
Fourth, there is a refrigerator and microwave in most of the rooms...this saved on snacks and drinks.
Fifth, the pool is landscaped with lovely flowers and shrubs/trees and nice patio furniture, so I could sit in the shade. My sons liked it because the pool was deeper than 4 feet in areas (as opposed to the current hotel pools that are only 3 to 4 feet deep)
Sixth, my son said that we should mention they have cable TV in every room....obviously a positive thing if you are a teenager.
Seventh....I get up very early and walk...the location is excellent for a morning walk to the beach.
I travel alot...for business and pleasure... this is a motel that is very clean, you can open the windows in the rooms for fresh air or you can use the airconditioners. You can save money with the microwaves and refrigerators in the room. I think the most important point is that Kris and Neil Beezer grew up in the area...they know the town and the surroundings....they run the motel and they are concerned about their guests.
From the previous review, I learned they now have a breakfast buffet. I feel that is a very valuable savings feature in a motel. My teenage sons eat alot...my parents enjoy a cup of coffee with a pastry in the morning. I would recommend this motel ...it is AAA certified.

I brought my family (4 kids) here to stay while waiting to get into our new house - it is clean, very clean. The owners are very warm and friendly, we felt very comfortable and safe. The furnishings are tradional in style, the bathrooms are older but in excellent condition and spotless. Having checked other area motels and hotels before checking in here, I can say with out any doubt that this is the best deal in the area. we unexpectedly needed a few more nights a few days later and my wife and kids wanted to go back -we did. It's a bit like staying at your grandparents house, homely and warm.

A friend of mine was having a wedding in CT and my boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for the night. A friend of mine found this place and told us they were going to stay there so we decided to stay at this inn as well. The location was super close to the exit off the I-95 and just as close to the place of the wedding. The room was clean and comfortable and the owner was very nice and helpful. The shower was a bit small but it got the job done. Would come back again if I needed an affordable and clean place for the night.

Friendly family owned small establishment with pool in backyard setting. Very accomodating and available with great suggestions for restaurant suggestions, antiquing, and shopping. Always on site. Clean home type atmosphere. This is the second time in three years we spent the weekend with friends. Will go back again. Easy to make reservations. No concern regarding confirmation status - accurate with reservation information given.
all units on ground floor with outside entrance.

My fiance and i were looking for a small and quiet place to spend a much needed weekend away and found the Heritage Motor Inn on line. Their website describes their Inn as a "family run (business) for over 40 years and boasts a quiet, quaint, non-commercial atmosphere." As it sounded like just the place for us, we made reservations, arrived on a Friday evening, and were absolutely not disappointed, from the moment we arrived until we left two days later. Our room was clean, comfortable, and simply decorated, The owners were welcoming, and always available to offer suggestions about the area. If you are looking for simplicity and relaxation, the Heritage Motor Inn is the place to go.

Read reviews, checked website and called. Some strange reviews seemed contradictory so I called and asked questions. A pleasant, knowledgeable american woman answered the phone on the 2 occasions we called. She told me about how the place was a smaller non commercial establishment (family run), on Rt. 1, No smoking in rooms, no pets, no long term residents, etc. ( full disclosure no supprises or false expectations - how refreshing). pricing was very reasonable, we were able to park literally right outside of our rooms which was good since my father has a large breathing machine to tote around. Rooms were clean, we didn't find any ants as you would on Cape Cod. We had a restfull comfortable stay and our hosts were able to answer questions about the area, give directions and recommendations. They saved the day for us the day of our cousin's wedding as they found out there was a parade on Main Street where the church was and gave us an ETA with traffic, alternate routes and parking. We were punctual while many other were not!
Only one thing, there is a sign out front that says American owned and operated, I myself was not offended, I am not one to question anothers pride.
We would go back given the opportunity.

Talk about being made to feel welcome! The mother, daughter and son-in-law that run the Heritage take great pride in their establishment and are extremely accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was alway fresh fruit at the continental breakfast. The main house is a historic building and it and the 12 units are within walking distance of a deli and pizza place. By far the best feature is the staff. Children under 12 are not allowed so it made for a very peaceful vacation.

The owners and staff are fabulous: really friendly and helpful. The room and bath were very clean, and quiet. However, we had lots of big, black ants in our bathroom. Also, the swimming pool was dirty inside, as well as the outdoor carpeting surrounding it. It is located on a main highway, a convenient but unattractive location. The prices were very fair.
