My experience was very enjoyable! This hotel is located in a quiet location in Ubud, offering river views that create a peaceful atmosphere.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. Two nice pools. The breakfast served also fits perfectly on my tongue, with a variety of local and international food choices.

The hotel is also located near the river which provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The sound of the river flow adds to the tranquility of our experience.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, making our stay more effective. The location of the hotel is a bit far from the center of Ubud, but the hotel provides shuttle services that facilitate access to the area.

Overall, Hotel Sthala Ubud is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Ubud with comfort and quality service.

Smiling service abounds at this hotel and we felt at home from the start. This is a popular hotel and with good reason. The views to the river and all the trees around are beautiful and calming. We took advantage of the included shuttle bus service to central Ubud, which drops you right near Monkey Forest and the intriguing shopping area. I also attended one of the morning yoga classes, masterfully led by Pande. The yoga class was tailored to include all levels so do not hesitate to try it, even if you are a beginner. The morning village walk led by Made was a highlight that gives insight into how local Balinese live. The breakfast buffet is extensive and caters to many different cuisines (Indonesian, Indian, British, American, European etc). As vegans we were not disappointed and my son’s request for an item to be prepared without butter was happily accommodated. My son is eager to stay at this hotel again simply because of the amazing breakfast buffet! This is the kind of hotel where you can discuss your special requests and preferences with the staff and most likely find an agreeable solution. Being greeted by name by the kind Ms. Intan upon arrival at breakfast created a positive start to the day and we commend her commitment to friendly and professional service at the ground floor restaurant. The bed was very comfortable, the air con worked, the shower was hot and importantly, the room was clean. Thank you to the housekeeping team, especially Indra and Dewa. Bottles of water were replenished everyday (remember not to drink the tap water to avoid Bali Belly!) and unique Balinese nibbles came with the room. There is some construction going on next door but bamboo screens have been cleverly installed on the side facing it and the noise disruption was minimal.
Overall our four night stay here was excellent and we can recommend Sthala wholeheartedly. Thank you for all the service!

The housekeeping staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort in every aspect of our room. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed and added immensely to the overall enjoyment of our stay.

A special mention must be made to Karasana from the restaurant team, whose warm hospitality and attentiveness made our arrival day truly special. It's rare to encounter such genuine and personalized service, and we truly appreciate the effort.

The culinary delights at the 7th-floor bar were exceptional, and the cocktails on our last day were the perfect way to cap off a fantastic visit. The strategic location of the hotel near Ubud downtown was a definite advantage and contributed to the overall convenience of our stay.

I am more than happy to share our positive experience by leaving glowing reviews on various online platforms. Your team deserves all the accolades for their hard work and commitment to creating a remarkable guest experience.

We highly recommend Sthala for Ubud visitors

Really very good hotel. Is quite new. I've never seen such a big bed anywhere. Water is amply replenished every day, including for brushing teeth. But what really stands out is the staff. So attentive and friendly. At breakfast they saw that my son loves dragon fruit and a smoothie was spontaneously made for him. Lots of choice at breakfast with beautiful views of the river. Lovely swimming pools with towel service. And also got a late check out. I travel all over the world with my son, but this hotel is in the top 3 in terms of service and luxury. Thanks to the staff!

I’m writing this review while still staying at the property, and it’s been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had at a so-called “5-star” hotel. It’s clear we must manage our expectations, even when booking with a reputable chain like Marriott.

To start, construction is ongoing right next door to the property. There was no notice about this on the booking app or in the hotel lobby. I only discovered it when the reception staff escorted me to my room and explained that construction noise would be occurring daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.

I booked a deluxe room with a balcony at the lowest rate, and perhaps I set my expectations too high. The first room they assigned (Room 807) faced the street and was uncomfortably close to a “vertical park,” which is essentially just a view of the adjacent building with succulents. The second room they showed me faced a busy walkway and bridge, offering little privacy. While I understand that this was a base-level room, my experiences at similar properties like Plataran Ubud and Adiwana Unagi left me with the impression that even the most affordable rooms could offer a memorable view. Eventually, they “upgraded” me to a room with a river view and better privacy, which was a relief.

Dinner service was another letdown. When ordering, I specifically asked if the Tom Yam soup came with rice and was told that it did. I also requested the EDC (card machine) to be brought with the food so I could settle the bill immediately. When the food arrived, there was no rice, and they had not brought the EDC. I called again, and after some confusion, they finally delivered the rice and the card machine. This back-and-forth was exhausting—especially as I’d hoped to unwind during my stay rather than deal with repeated misunderstandings.

This morning at breakfast, Pak Karsana was very helpful, but another issue arose. An Indian family unknowingly took my table, and I had to assert myself to get it back. The staff should have been more attentive to prevent such situations.

I also attempted to book a manicure and pedicure at the spa but was told that no therapist was available until 12:30 PM. This is just another disappointment in a string of frustrations that have made my stay tiring rather than relaxing.

Unfortunately, I can’t say this property is worth the cost. I’m just looking forward to checking out tomorrow.

We had the best honeymoon here! The people are very friendly. The service is amazing and the rooms are very clean. The rooms are not noisy, so you can sleep in silence.
We also used the gym, it’s basic but everything works fine. There are two pools, with towel service. In the evening we recommendate the rooftop bar, on soms nights there was live music as well.

One of us has a lot of allergies an the kitchen did an amazing job taking care of it!

This is a very nice standard business hotel: the rooms are clean and well
Appointed. The staff is incredibly nice and solicitous—to the point of occasionally being truly intrusive. I had to usher a room service delivery person out of our room because he would not stop talking.

This is a great hotel for someone that is uncomfortable with Bali and wants standard accommodations where everyone speaks english. Or someone that just likes business hotels. But this is not in a picturesque location and it lacks character.

If you are comfortable exploring mew things and places you will probably be disappointed by this hotel. Find a small b&b or rent a house instead.

The selling point of this hotel is the staff. We traveled with our 18 month old and the staff is what made our trip relaxing and enjoyable. All of the breakfast staff were so amazing. They all were especially kind to our daughter. Karsana, Risa, Tyra, Indah, Rani, Putri, and so many other staff members were always there to say goodmorning, get us whatever we needed, and especially to say hi to our daughter. The service was always above and beyond.

The only thing holding back from 5 stars was the construction next door, and the water. The construction wasn't part of the hotel property, but a heads up of us booking a place that would have such loud noise throughout the day would have been helpful. The water is filtered, bottled, and provided for guests. We didn't feel comfortable risking drinking this water, especially for our daughter.

Would absolutely recommend this hotel, and if we returned to Ubud, would more than likely stay here again.

I closed the door of my house, 30 hours later, I opened the door of the Sthala with this mixture of fatigue and excitement which characterizes the start of a stay.
Our nocturnal arrival already gave a grandiose appearance to this entrance open to the four winds and with its imposing traditional decoration.
Taken in hand by the welcome desk, we were immediately able to realize that our week would be unique.
The kindness and professionalism of the hotel employees comforted us instantly.
Always attentive, eager to help you constantly, they make you exceptional. We feel unique, and we are treated with such kindness.
The room is spacious, and the decoration pleasant.
The bathroom offers the essentials, but remains modest in size.
The hotel offers several levels of living, from the Spa downstairs to the extremely pleasant rooftop bar.
The restaurant overlooks the garden and the river.
10 minutes from the center of Ubud, the hotel provides you with a free shuttle which drops you off just a stone's throw from the Sacred Monkey Forest.
What makes this place so charming is its calm, its serenity, and above all the constant attention that the staff pays to you.
Whether it's the people at reception, housekeeping, bars, various servers, room service, everyone goes out of their way to serve you.
The central location of the hotel allows you to plan many outdoor activities and discover this corner of Bali that inspires so much.
A quick dip in the pool to cool off at the end of the day and we're off again.
Also note the breakfast, varied and offered in various buffets with different geographical inspirations, it is a suspended break.
The smile and warmth of Adhi's welcome will make you melt, the girls then strive to continue to extend your well-being.
Stunning.

The hotel is not actually in Ubud , it about 8 km to the Ubud center so not within walking distance. But the hotel provides scheduled free shuttle service to town which stops at the coco market ( meters away from the monkey forest) and from there it’s an easy walk to Ubud center and palace etc. the last shuttle bus back to hotel is 9 pm I think so you can have a leisure meals in the town then return to hotel if you don’t want to have dinner at the hotel. I didn’t pay much attention to the vegetarian food as I m not but as far as I know there is a huge variety of the breakfast choices in fact it was the best among the three hotels we stayed this time
