I loved my stay at Sthala! The hotel is on a site that overlooks a small river and valley, which provides absolutely gorgeous views for the restaurant and pool. It is about 30 min south of Ubud center so it's far removed from the gritty streets and traffic typical of Ubud. They offer a complimentary shuttle to and from Ubud to get you in and out of the city center. And above all the staff are amazing. Seriously, I cannot remember the last time I stayed at a hotel where every single member of the staff was as friendly and welcoming as the members at Sthala. They really know how to make me feel taken care of!
Pretty grounds with the hotel situated on a hillside overlooking a river with lush jungle. The views are beautiful, especially from Naga bar on the 7th floor during the sunsets with many kites along the horizon. The hotel has many Balinese arts and sculptures that give the vibe of their beautiful culture. The staff are all very well trained and genuinely care about their guests; all of them from housekeeping to the front desk were all pleasant and helpful. That being said there are some notable exceptions who deserve mentioning: Lasta, the General Manager is a pro: while busy managing two properties he makes himself available and listens to any feedback with grace. I never had an issue but I did speak with him for some length. Front Desk: Ms Agung is a lifesaver. She assisted me with everything from concierge services to arranging for postage to have my passport sent to the Embassy in Jakarta for renewal (she even called to double check my documents were in order and found that my photo had the incorrect shade of white in the background). Always cheerful and high vibration, Marriott is lucky to have her. Naga Bar: Maha the bartender is gentle and knowledgeable about Bali nightlife, he cares about doing a great job. Walking up the stairs I observed him practicing throwing and catching bottles when the bar was empty. A pro. Rian - waiter and total gentleman; I enjoyed dealing with him when he was working Ground floor restaurant: It should be noted the breakfast has a lot of variety of tasty foods, fruits, healthy juices, teas and coffees. Every morning I was greeted by the staff who would seat my at my preferred area (outside) and take my drink order while being seated: they made me individually ordered juices that were not specifically on the menu (including a healthy Balinese drink with turmeric) Karsana the waiter was usually there always asking how I was and if he could get me something (ask for a Nola bowl) Widura the manager, also a pro runs the place so well, I really looked forward to starting my day there. Finally there was Tantra, the IT specialist who helped me print some documents and insured wifi was working great. All around cool person. I highly recommend staying here even for a short time however I was there almost two weeks! Suksema everyone 🙏🏻…
This is a nice secluded hotel surrounded by forest. Great natural views from each corner of hotel Excellent for couples. The staff and services are also awesome. It was a good experience staying here ♥️

The staff are amazing providing the best service, especially Wirsana and Adi Palgura and the shuttle driver was amazing I feel so safe and enjoy my holiday. The massage was incredible , I think the best massage I have ever had. I really had great time there. The room is nice
Superb at everything, comfort, privacy, facilities, product quality used are all good. very comfortable and it was a nice experience staying at sthala. We enjoyed three nights there and exploring ubud in the best way. Thank you sthala.
Greeted with friendly staffs upon arrival and my platinum elite status was recognized. The room are not what you would consider as luxurious but regardless very comfortable. The buffet breakfast has an extensive spread and very delicious! Even comes with Indomie. Hotel also has two delightful pools and a really pretty spa with reasonable pricing
Our stay in Sthala was full of regret..yes, we totally regret that it was one of the shortest stay during our 2-week holiday in Bali. We should’ve stayed much much longer in this spectacular place! Every single thing in this hotel was built to make your holiday an unforgettable experience. From the beautiful views overlooking Wos river and lush, green forest to the superior staffs that treat you like a family. Our check in process was exceptionally smooth, with the help of Jonny. We arrived much much earlier than our check-in schedule so we decided to have a lunch in the Sungai restaurant while we wait for our room. We ordered their signature bebek goreng, which is very crispy on the outside but the meat was superbly moist, the only downside it tasted a little bit bland for me. When we have our lunch, Jonny personally handed us our room card from the lobby, and inform us that the room is ready. We really appreciate his extra mile effort so that we can directly go to our room after we finish our lunch instead of going back to the 5th floor lobby ( the restaurant is located at 1st floor ) . Thanks to Jonny we really begin our stay at Sthala on a sweet, sweet note. The room was spacious, squeaky clean, and totally comfortable. The bed was oh-so-soft, it kinda remind me of Westin’s heavenly bed albeit with different brand ( Sthala use Spring Air’s aero heaven series ). What truly differentiates them from other hotels, your beddings also comes with a set of bolstersss! So-so comfyyyy!. Each of the room has balcony area that we really enjoy, ours are facing the infinity pool and relaxing forest. Every morning i always brew a cup of hot tea ( Sthala provide you with Brew Me’s English breakfast & green teas every day ) and enjoy the calming forest & river sound which truly rejuvenating. The marble bathroom was huge and filled with high quality sanitary stuff from Hansgrohe & Kohler, while the walk-in shower’s water pressure was quite strong and refreshing. A great shower session is exactly what i need especially after you just spend your whole day exploring Ubud area. The breakfast at sungai restaurant was extensive and you will be spoilt with choices. There’s even an Indomie/instant noodle section which i love ( cant get enough of it ) and they cooked them perfectly! I always choose a table with beautiful river view so you can enjoy your breakfast while looking at the serene Wos river. If you need anything, all of the staffs here are brillant and will go above & beyond to make your breakfast a memorable one. Nopi is our favorite tho because she really helps a lot to cater our baby food needs and cutleries. Great job Nopi! Sthala has 2 pools, but the only pool you want to check out is the stunning panorama pool which located at 3rd floor. The infinity pool overlooking picture-esque forest & river was breathtaking and this spot, along with 7th floor Naga bar with its divinely beautiful sunset viewing deck was the most popular areas in Sthala and definitely not to be missed. Their shuttle service was very convenient, on time, and deserves a special mention because of Hendra, which i think is the MVP of our stay. He will surely turn your simple round trip to downtown Ubud into an exciting journey! He is very-very polite, friendly and a great conversationalist. We engaged in numerous topics but his story about pandemic impact to Sthala, was quite moving. How they are able to cope and survive with pandemic’s harshness toward the hotel industry truly amaze me. The shuttle itself will take you to the downtown Ubud, where most of the popular attractions took place such as monkey forest and there are plenty of good restaurants such as L’osteria, Pison Coffee, and Monsieur Spoon, Etc to satisfy your cravings. So will i return? 100% yes! All of the staffs here will try their best to make your stay as perfect as possible and the majestic property along with the spectacular views & surroundings are totally awe-inspiring. Keep it up Sthala!…
The perfect place to stay when you arrive in Ubud Bali! Beautiful views, great food and super comfortable bed!The staff are friendly & helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.Great hospitality, love how fast and smooth the check in experience.Nice linen and bed, comfy sofa😍😍😍😍
My brother and I stayed at Sthala for 2,5 weeks and loved it. The staff is incredible and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Every single employee was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself is beautiful, surrounded by lush green nature and featuring unbeatable sunset views from the swimming pool and rooftop bar. The room was spacious and clean, the housekeeping team is fantastic. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of options (Indonesian as well as western dishes) and always plenty of fresh fruits. My brother loved their mie goreng, which they often made especially for him. We also liked the shuttle service (every two hours and you can WhatsApp the staff to reserve a seat) and also enjoyed their complementary sunrise yoga sessions (twice per week). 10/10 would stay again!…
