The campground is lovely and we’ll kept. But trailers are packed in a little to close for my comfort. Also traffic noise is loud from Route 11. They are not dog friendly and dogs are not allowed to be walked through the campground only in the woods on the “dog trail”. There is a charge at the showers. A plus is that the sites are shady and lots of trees.

This is a great campground, kids loved the heated pool and beach at the lake. Great organized activities and facilities, ver y clean, super friendly and accommodating staff. The only drawback were the other campers. The families around us were loud during quiet hours, one of the moms dropped the f bomb constantly while the couple was fghting. A lot of unsupervised kids, especially at the playground, engaging in unsafe activities like throwing rocks and climbing up the slide while my kids were trying to slide down. No issues at the pool or lake, we probably will return but hope we have better neighbors.

We only stayed as a one night layover on our way to our next destination. I had to call to make reservations. I usually only use the sites that have immediate online booking. The campground appeared nice and clean. The beach looked very inviting but we did not go to the beach. The staff that checked us in were very friendly and helpful. We have a 35' travel trailer and they put us in the very back 3 sites in from an empty corner site (full disclosure the empty site could have been a paid seasonal site not being used yet) that would have been a lot easier to get into. The area was beautiful but was very tight and hard to get into with our camper. The sites were very close together. We were able to get 4 channels with our antenna amd the wifi wouldn't work correctly. The neighbors were very helpful and kind with helping us get backed in to our site which was very appreciated. There was electric and water at our site but only gray water not full sewer hookup. I think they had a honey wagon service but can't remember. The roads in/out were too narrow for two-way traffic. There is an automatic gate going in and out. You have to give a $5 deposit to get a key for the gate if you plan to come and go. We did drive to the piers in New London, CT to walk around some. So, we had to wait for the office to open at 9 am the next morning before leaving to get our $5 back. When we pulled up, there were a couple staff ppl outside talking. We had our small bag of trash on the back of our pickup and forgot to look for the dumpster on the way out. I said, not quietly but not directly at staff either however they both looked at us, that we needed to find the dumpster and started to look around. Neither staff person helped us. They actually turned their backs to us. So, we just put the bag in the back of our truck to dispose of later. We continued inside the office where there were more staff. One lady practically met us at the door with our $5. I thanked her and she was friendly but it didn't quite reach her face like she was already stressed out for the day. We decided to look around before leaving. We did pick up a few things. While we were looking around, I am assuming the owner was talking to a staff person behind the counter. It sounded like the staff person was getting reprimanded for something. It could have been a discussion about another issue and policy. I tried not to listen but it was hard not to. Then another person came in that must have been a staff member offering a doctor's note. She was told it wouldn't be accepted especially from her. So, I thought staffing issues should been handled in private away from customers.

Overall, we didn't feel it was a terrible campground but because of the tightness and closeness of the sites, we wouldn't return to this one.

Room Tip: The sites are tree lined and tight. I'd say not big camper friendly.

Well I know where the wicked witch of the east went. One of the most unwelcoming campgrounds on the east coast. The seasonal campers are rude as well. Maybe not all but the ones I was unlucky to meet were. They say pets are welcome, Not true you can not walk pets except on your site and and at a nature walk which is not very nice for pets, luckily there was no horseshoe games because you would have to walk right through them, you can't walk your pet to the nature walk so you must drive them there, only problem with that is there is no place to park. The park is crowded sites are on top of each other. pick another place.

You'll have to work very hard to find a place that is this clean. Kid friendly, two swimming options (lake beachfront and pool), entertainment on weekends, food vendor, tennis/basketball courts, softball field. Hands on owner and highly trained staff. Our family has been going there for three generations. We go back because it is really fun.

I really wanted to like this place. We love where it is but the people who work there made it an uncomfortable experience. This was our first greywater only experience and the kids working at night had no idea where to send us to find the right adapter which they had run out of. Finally a more seasoned worker told us to go to another campground's store which I guess was a no-no. After our dog did his business in the prescribed area, we decided to walk around and were confronted by the owner who was more interested in finding out who didn't tell us that was against the rules than realizing we meant no harm so we literally had to carry our dog back to our site. We got the feeling the person who checked in was going to get a beating. We loved the lake and the bathroom cleanliness was the best part but our site was on a slant and pool is not heated despite advertising. Overall, we felt like we were intruding on the seasonals by just being there a short time or maybe it's because we were more diverse than they were...either way, we won't return.

We usually always go to the same campground Brialee in Ashford because we love it, but decided to try something different! Big mistake! Definitely felt unwanted was there with family we had 3 sites! The seasonals definitely get treated great & stick together in clicks make u feel as if u are intruding! To top it off there was a thunderstorm the last night we was there they had an employee come around and advise people they are not responsible for damages which is fine, but then they stood there and kept going back and forth with us til we finally agreed to pack up and leave! So they made $159 off us between our 3 sites! Also my sons girlfriend was made to feel uncomfortable as their pool staff kinda let her know she was the only non-white person there! Would not recommend this place to anyone and will not go back !

When reading their website you get the feeling of a family friendly campground with excellent amenities. This is not the case. We booked a "Full Hookup" 50 Amp site . There are NO sewers in park. Just 2 dump stations. You need to bring a honey pot( which we left home, because we thought we were getting a full hook up) The dump stations are not big rig friendly at all. Very tight and tree lined.
This park is great for the seasonal PBR drinking people with loud un-supervised loud kids who know no boundaries.

If you're looking for a place to do a little drinking and get a little crazy, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you can follow common sense campground etiquette and a few simple rules, adults and kids will have a wonderful time. Ms. Deb runs a tight ship and it shows at this perfectly maintained and immaculately clean campground. It is about 80% seasonal rentals and 20% "drop ins". Very quiet Mon-Friday. A little active with kids Friday evening till Sunday afternoon, but the sounds of children having fun shouldn't bother you at a family campground

The campground was nice, although it's small and the 2-way road leading around the sites is only large enough for one camper, can get tight. Enjoyed the heated pool and that they have adult-swim hours at night. If you have a dog with you they have a nice dog path through the woods. It's good to know that when you take the walk you have to turn around and walk back because dogs aren't allowed to walk within the campground. On Saturday night they had a great band at their pavilion. This campground is definitely geared for families, but my dog and I enjoyed ourselves.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and so were fellow campers.
Thank you for a great get away...
