Brian and Jennifer Cascone, Innkeepers/owners of The Evergreen Bed & Breakfast have breathed new life into the former Curtis House Inn and Restaurant in Woodbury. The Cascone's took on a major renovation of one of Woodbury's oldest landmarks and gave it new life and style. This past Saturday myself and two friends dined at the Evergreen Tavern which was the former City Hall Café located in the basement/rear of the Inn. The Cascone's have honored the buildings historical past but tastefully updated it to the present with elegant functionality. They have extended the bar area, re-arranged the dining room and updated the space beautifully. The menu offers a range of small and middle plates ranging from Chicken Wings, Fried Dumplings, to assorted salads, Chilli, sandwiches, and burgers. For those with a hearty appetite there are also large plates featuring steak, seafood, and pasta. My group and I started with the wings, moved on to the fabulous fried dumplings with sweet chili sauce, then had the tavern burgers, and finished up with ice cream for desert. All were excellent and fine examples of what is available from Chef Dailey's kitchen. The Tavern also offers a wide range of draft and bottle beers, assorted cocktails. The service was excellent, thank you Nolan!, and the price point provided a great evening out without going bankrupt. The Tavern also provides live music on Friday and Saturday. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn last month when we traveled to Southbury for his best friends wedding. Brian and Jen warmly welcomed us when we arrived. The house itself is historical yet very fresh and comfortable. The grounds and pool were extremely inviting and relaxing. We can’t say enough about the delectable treats that Jen whipped up for breakfast each morning. She made us feel like royalty with what was presented! The location can’t be beat, as it’s a stones throw to the Main Street of Southbury and easily accessible to shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend staying at the Evergreen Inn to anyone who is in need of a place while visiting Southbury; including business travel or leisure. My sister and I took my mom and daughter to The Evergreen Inn for a girls weekend for Mother’s Day. Jen and Brian were fabulous hosts from the moment we arrived. They gave us a tour of their lovingly renovated Inn., they cooked us 2 fantastic breakfasts, and they gave us great recommendations for a winery to visit and a nice place for dinner. Our reason for visiting the area was to see the Bellamy-Ferriday House nearby but the highlight of our trip was this beautiful B&B. I would definitely stay there again and have been recommending this gem to my friends and family!

The innkeepers Jen and Brian were wonderful hosts. Dinner recommendations excellent and homemade breakfast perfect! The bed and the sheets were wonderfully comfortable and the snack bar with wine and beer was a lovely touch. This 200 yr. old home and property is filled with character including wide pine board floors , neighboring farm animals, gorgeous garden and grounds yet has all the modern conveniences one needs ie Netflix for a late movie! Very clean , bright and quiet ( even though all rooms were booked)! Great get away!

The best B&B that we’ve stayed in! Owned and run by Brian and Jennifer since August 2017, this Inn has been painstakingly renovated to perfection! This couple are the ultimate innkeepers - a warm and friendly couple who treat their guests as family! Jennifer is an awesome chef, offering the best breakfast we have had at a B&B. They also do weddings, birthdays and company events. We will definitely return - hopefully this summer to take advantage of their pool.
