We stayed one night while in the area touring a couple of vineyards. This Inn is just about what you would expect of an Inn built more than 120 years ago. The lobby is a classic scene right out of a movie of an older Inn with antiques to set the tone. Our room was adequate but we did find...

This place is great!! Two teens and myself had a wonderful time. The staff, the food was just great. We saw the movie The Innkeeper before we went. The staff showed us around the inn and gave us a good scare. The inn is very old but kept very well. The location was great because we were across the street...

This is one of those old historic places that have kept the old old ambiance that is so hard to find. Yes it is worn some. Ideally It would be completely repainted inside and new carpeting installed. Understandably this would be a major financial undertaking. While it is old it is very clean, the bed we had was very comfortable...

It was nearly 125 years ago that Frank and Alice Conley wagered an exorbitant amount of money to build a Hotel that would be like no other, for Torrington, for Connecticut, and even the US. For that time, not only did they achieve their magnificent dream, they built a Hotel that still stands proudly today, honoring both the vision and...

Look, I get that it's old and charming. Because of it's age I accept that it is not the Ritz. And it does have a beautiful lobby, elegant staircase and a few nicely done hall ways. And that is where it ends. The rooms are terrible. Old, hard, uncomfortable beds. Dirty old linens, dust along the baseboards, I could go...

Unbeleivable hands down..Second year there. I brought my wife for the mysterious movie (The Innkeepers) ambiance last year and we can't enough of the hosplitality, the energy , and the quiet little town with so much character. When entering, condisider it someone's house your invited to with every need of yours taken care of before you even ask. It's our...

I was placed at the Yankee Pedlar for business and I enjoyed my stay. The entire staff was friendly and offered me anything I needed at the drop of the dime. The Inn is known for its horror background, so i advise asking Billy for the tour, he is really cool. The owner was great and even cooked for us,...

Our one night stay was awful. Pillow cases were used and there was a scarcity of towels. Had to ask for tissues and water and clean linens. Room was shabbily decorated and not so clean.Rooms definitly need a pick me up. The worst was the heat or I should say a lack thereof----we froze all night---no controls in the room....
