I've always felt that bad weather tests the resourcefulness and hospitality of a hotel. This weekend was no exception. On the second day of our visit to the Rooster Tail Inn, a rare October major noreaster storm roared into Connecticut, dumping 15 inches of snow, downing trees and cutting power to the inn and just about every town around. The...

my wife stayed there when it first opened a few years ago and raved about it. we pickup our kids at a nearby camp so it was the perfect opportunity for me to experience the inn for myself. no disappointment whatsoever. i'm not a hotel snob (i do, however, typically stay in 5-star hotels because of my work) and i...

We stayed here for a weekend with a group and just loved it. Suites are roomy and comfy, the restaurant is very good, the inn is just lovely! Mo and Cliff, the owners, do a wonderful job of making you feel at home. A cozy bar area near the entrance where you can easily mingle with the friendly locals. If...

Upon entering the Rooster Tail Inn for the first time I felt a certain calm and comfortableness I have hardly found anywhere else. The Inn has been exquisitely renovated/updated by it's loving and professional owners Mo and Cliff. The rooms are generously sized to fit varying needs and every time my family has stayed there the Inn has been impeccably...

Our room had a chromatherapy tub which was a delightful treat. The hospitality bar was quite generous and the inn was immaculate. However, the most desirable quality...

I'm happy for those that had positive experiences, but our was just the opposite. Our room was lovely and that's about where the good ends. We checked in found our room and prepared for our stay. The toilet has been used by ?someone and there was feces on the toilet seat! We were told that sometimes they leave the rooms...

The property itself is beautiful inside and out, and the rooms are fabulous. The atmosphere is friendly and cozy, food is good and we really enjoyed having a...

Went to Litchfield Jazz Festival in Kent, CT. Made the mistake of booking at the very distant Danbury Plaza, so had to bail from there and be closer to Kent. Found availability at the Rooster Tail by blind luck and OMG! what a place. Room 4 was spacious, well equipped and we slept wonderfully. Breakfast was tasty and everyone was...

a beautifully renovated house with only 6 suites, one lovelier than the next. fabulous beds, fabulous bathrooms, piles of fluffy towels, and, most important, relaxed and gracious hosts who will make you feel like you're in their home (which is right behind the inn). the inn also has a delightful dining room and outdoor terrace, as well as an indoor...
