We stayed here 3 nights at the end of March and beginning of April 2017. We very much enjoyed staying here. Its away from all the main road and very quiet. Key West is about a 40 minute drive south. We had the Ocean room at beach level and had a great ocean breeze go thru the room at night....

We Enjoyed ourselves. My husband and I stayed 2 nights as we worked our way down the keys. The Barnacle is off the main road back in the Key deer Sanctuary area. It is very quiet and a good place to enjoy nature. The key deer walk around freely. The setting was peaceful and I enjoyed the view of the...

If you are looking for a unique stay off the beaten path, this is your place! Very quirky property with so much charming character. Tim and Jane are warm and welcoming and make an AMAZING breakfast! You will be so full! We had not even unloaded our car, and a tiny Key Deer wandered up to great us. We continued...

This is a wonderful peaceful place to stay with great hosts and lovely breakfasts. It is like staying on a nature reserve with all sorts of quiet places to sit outside and observe the birds and animals that frequent it. We loved seeing the Key deer visiting and also saw some great birdlife. Very quirky and spacious rooms and never...

Where to start! My husband and I spent four nights at the Barnacle -- Jane and Tim are wonderful folks and were great to work with in planning our trip. We stayed in the Atrium room which was bright, spacious, comfy, clean and cheery. Breakfasts were amazing -- not only wonderfully creative but beautifully presented too. Lastly, the grounds of...

A very special place, with tons of common space, big rooms, BBQ grill, amazing ocean view, comfortable seating outdoors and inside -- hammocks, lounge chairs, swing chairs. Great breakfast, lots of extras. Disappointed that the hot tub was not working when we were there, as that was one of the chief draws of the place for us, but the owner...

This is definitely the best kept secret in the keys. It is off the beaten path. The wildlife it's beautiful. But it's close enough where you can go visit Key west or anywhere else in the keys. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and they provide everything that you need. The breakfast was yummy. Our host was excellent tour guide...

We had a downstairs room facing the ocean. The room was comfortable and had everything we could have needed. The host was extremely gracious and helpful. But the key deer were the main attraction. Watching them wander by, cavort and play from our patio or room made this a truly memorable occasion. I will definitely go again.

This is a very nice retreat for people not looking for the crowds. Those who like kayaking will have a wonderful time (bicycles and kayaks are available free), one can have trips around the peninsula. Location is excellent, the sandy beaches Bahia Honda is a 10 minutes drive away. The Atlantic is also good for kitesurfing, though self launching is...

Both my husband and I were delighted to stumble across this gem. It's unique atmosphere, boasting an open view ceiling in the main entrance, lends to it's quaint feel of the outdoors with the romantic feel of a true getaway. The gentle smell of sea breeze wafts through the air and mixes with aroma of flowers. The hosts, Tim and...
