I took my in-laws out to eat last Friday for dinner to Cabbage Key and we had a fantastic time!! Our server was Debbie and she couldn't have been any better with service and personality!! We all had cheeseburgers and they were equally fantastic. Thank you Debbie for a memorable night!!

Debbie was thrilled at your compliments! She says to come back soon for our nightly chef’s special, or perhaps the “Fresh Catch of the Day”!

Spent overnight stay in one of their cabins. Beautiful surroundings and service was excellent. Rebecca was our service provided in the restaurant and she was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return again.

We had a fabulous weekend at Cabbage Key. We ate dinner at the Cabbage Key Inn Restaurant each night. Our nights, were by far, the most memorable. A big thanks to all staff, but especially Stella! We met her on only her 10th day on the island, but she was no less knowledgable than if she had been there for...

The food here is basic but its about more than that. Pulling up on a boat, seeing the place, leaving your dollar on the wall...much more an experience than a restaurant. Lovely staff and great island!

Three weeks ago, we vacationed on North Captiva and rented a boat. One of our stops was Cabbage Key where we had heard about the Inn and its history. We had a party of 11 and were seated at 2 separate tables (kids and adults - perfect!!) Our waitress was Kate C (if I remember correctly) with who we connected...

Thank you very much for your awesome review! Your kind words really made Katie’s day, in addition to the rest of the staff! Every dollar that is hung on our walls eventually falls and is donated to various local charities, so a big thank you to your kids for helping out! We all look forward to seeing you again in...

We rented a boat from Captiva to Island Marker 60 to visit the legendary "Cabbage Key Restaurant" & enjoyed every moment! Of course we enjoyed our "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" (we are from New Jersey after all!) & was amazed by the testimonies of people who had visited before us, in the form of one dollar bills! The day was beautiful,...

You’re the first to describe our place as legendary, and we love it! All of our staff were very pleased to hear your glowing words of praise for them! On any given day, there’s about $70,000 of $1 bills hanging from our walls. Some have been there for years, and every dollar that falls is donated to various local charities....

We had a small family reunion and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rented one of the cottages - Snook Cottage which was quaint and comfortable. We had all our meals at the Inn and found the menu to be interesting, the food delicious and the atmosphere casual and fun. The food is brought over from the mainland and they ran...

We’re very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us for your family reunion! The Snook Cottage is one of our larger accommodations, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a full kitchen. It’s our “island on the island”, as it is separated from Cabbage Key Island by a small creek and is connected by a small footbridge. Our kitchen...

Ordered a Reuben, it was delicious! Glad I didn't order a burger like the rest of them did! They could hardly find the beef patty, had so much bun and a little fat burger inside! Come on, even if you have to make the burger flatter and least get in to the edge of the bun!

Thank you for your feedback on your dining experience. Your comments on the burgers have been passed on to our kitchen management, who deal with our food vendors that supply our bread. Our burgers are hand-formed, to ensure they retain the juices and flavor throughout the cooking process. We’re very glad you enjoyed your Reuben sandwich and invite you to...

This is was an amazing getaway. Cabbage Key is a quiet (except at lunch time) location in Southwest Florida. This is a peaceful, beautiful and unique place - my next trip will be more than 2 nights. We will be glad to see you back so soon! We always recommend bug spray, as we are on the water and they love the wet areas of Florida. We are very pleased to hear your getaway was amazing, and we will do our best to ensure all your future stays with us are just as enjoyable. See you soon!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by. ... more   less
