Gracious living at its best. The Old Carrable Hotel will always be my home away from home. Clean, comfortable, historic, gracious hosts, walking distance to great eateries, and a wrap-around balcony on the second floor that allows you to sit and absorb the history of this wonderful town. 10 star accomodations in my book.

Via Mobile! (--looks Latin--) The mobile road to convenience for all of us--what a difference the "smart" phone has made. We are enjoying a larger and larger portion of our guest reservations from travelers who are already on the way! Not suggested, because we have to say "sorry" frequently, but what a convenience. And convenient to send a review on...

We loved everything about The Old Carabelle Inn. It was very comfortable, casual and very centrally located. As a native Floridian it was SO nice to stay in such a true to Florida place! We were made to feel very welcome and check in/check out couldn't have been any easier. My favorite is the wrap-around porch...loved it! Thank you so...

We stayed 2 nights to explore some of the panhandle. Very comfortable room with coffee available in the am. The breakfast set up is not the best but ok. A quiet and low key place to stay. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at The Old Carabelle and would probably stay again. The main detractor was the lack of ground floor rooms requiring that we climb about 17-18 steps in a poorly lighted hallway. The common small refrigerator is in the hall as well. That said, if you don't need handicapped accommodations, the innkeepers are very nice and the...

We couldn't help but notice the complimentary words in this review: nice, very inviting and comfortable, quite a flair, beautiful, very generous, delicious, large, excellent! 3 balls out of 5 is 60%, or what we used to call in school an F. We really don't think that this reviewer meant to fail us, instead may actually just have clicked the wrong...

We picked Carrabelle out on the map as a stopping point on our road trip to Texas. Knowing nothing about the town or surroundings, we were thrilled to find a side of Florida we had never seen before - and our stay at the Old Carrabelle Hotel made the stop worthwhile. A comfortable room, great breakfast and good company made...

The mutual admiration continues between our Forgotten Coast (the Hotel in particular) and our European visitors. Since Europe has limited coastline availability and unlimited people who want to go there, we are a breath of fresh air--literally. Thank you for your kind words, and send your friends! We have plenty of room. Skip and Kathy

We highly recommend the Old Carrabelle Hotel as the place to stay in Carrabelle, FL. There are no 4 lane highways nor restaurant waits in Carrabelle, so if that is what you want, stay on I-10. Carrabelle in general and the Old Carrabelle Hotel in particular are remnants of Old Florida, graceful and unhurried. We have stayed numerous times at...

We travel a lot a get quite bored with standard motels and wanted somewhere different to stay en-route to New Orleans. Carrabelle township in December is definitely different but does have a little gem in the Old Hotel. The Hotel has all the little quirks expected of a B&B, the rooms are fine, we had no trouble sleeping and having...

For single travelers or couples, this place is unbeatable. From location, to hospitality and cleanliness, there is nothing to complain about. It was not a problem when we stayed, but I can imagine that in high season it could get a little louder since it's close to the main east/west drag along the coast, but if you are a light...

Love the comfort and convenience here and I have stayed with Skip and Kathy many times in the past. I lived here in Carrabelle during the World War 2 when I was a little girl and my Dad was Postmaster of the base (Camp Gordon Johnston). Each year I try and return to the reunions that are being held here...

Miss Vivian celebrated her 11th birthday here during WWII, and a German POW even baked her a cake! His name was Hermann, and he would also stay here with us. Unfortunately, his time on this earth ended a few years ago and we all lost another fascinating glimpse into history. Since she gets younger each year, we expect to see...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Carrabelle Hotel in Carrabelle, Florida is a "Key West style inn on The Forgotten Coast". Once the end-of-the-line railroad hotel, now you may enjoy all the modern comforts in an Old Florida casual atmosphere. There is just something about the experience of a 1900-ish inn at the coast (or a coastal cottage at the coast) that no newer motel-hotel can equal. And we are a very different B&B operation - free beach restaurant breakfasts for Hotel guests, and self check-in -- just for starters. Make your own reservation online, and receive back a confirmation with all the info you may need. Don't Expect: traffic lights, lots of people, McHamburgers, bungee jumps or late-night noise. Do expect: the best seafood, eco-activity opportunities in every direction, cultural/historical activities and a lot of peace and quiet time on the property, in the forest or on the beach or water! ... more   less
