We booked one night in cottage #9 for a weekend getaway to quiet Cedar Key. Like most of the area, it's not fancy or shiny new. However, we found this to be part of its charm. We had the cottage closest to the road, so there was a little bit of noise when motorcycles went by. We had a comfortable... More

I had seen Mermaid's Landing and knew exactly what it was like before going. It met my needs perfectly. I cooked all of my meals in the cottage, I walked or rode my bike everywhere, it was quiet, adequate, and peaceful. It is not the Ritz but fit my budget for a 4 day retreat alone.

Remote did not work. Bathroom door when open blocked TV buy would not stay closed. Dingy, felt place was not clean. Glad I travel with my... More

My wife and I stayed in cottage 9 for 3 nights and left yesterday morning. The cottage has a bedroom, equipped kitchen, dining room and screened in porch with water view. It has homey touches and we immediately felt comfortable. The room was clean when we arrived and the lady came daily, cleaned and changed our towels. The owner, Kathy,... More

The place is run down and in great need of some TLC. We usually like staying in "Old Florida" Mom and Pop motels, but this place was disgusting!! When we first went into the room it had a peculiar odor, the owner Cathy, later told me the previous tenants, who stay there regularly, use an air freshener (wonder why they... More

We stayed in cottage #1 plenty of space, clean, quaint, and definitely cozy!! The owner is also very friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again. It was quiet and was surprised that it even had a kitchen where we could cook during the day. If anyone follows the tiny house movement this would be a great place to stay!!!!... More

This was a memorable honeymoon spot for us! We plan on visiting again for our 25th! Nice private dock, complete with blue crab baskets filled daily, great wine and super cozy. We enjoyed the "lazy" town feel and we literally witnessed rainbows our entire drive down from Georgia. The Honeymooners cabin was great for a private-yet fun filled honeymoon with... More

When we arrived we had some issues but they were fixed right away. The door had gaps in between the door and the frame we did use duck tape to seal it because I didn't want lizards getting in ha ha. But overall we loved it here and plan on coming back with kids. Great little family town very peaceful... More

We looked forward to our stay for weeks. Looked at photos of the place several times and kept seeing ourselves down by the water with a couple of beers in hand watching the sunset. We stayed in a smaller cabin and it was nothing like the photos. The grounds were over grown and the outside sitting area was nasty. We... More

I spent 5 days in Cedar Key, staying at Mermaids Landing. It's exactly what I was looking for. No crowds, no one in the room over head, and no elevators. Just a pleasant walk through the natural lawn full of flowers and fruit trees, and right into a quaint cabin. This one was right on the water, so I could... More
