We came to stay as a family of 4. Arriving at 12 on a busy Saturday we were delighted that our room was as ready, the service at reception was fantastic in checking us in (and at check-out). The valet parking is very convenient and after we dropped the car we didn’t need it again as everything was walkable. The room was nice, spacious, and clean with a fantastic view. The location of the hotel is great for the beach and also for the marina, pier and beach walk. Lots of activity nearby. 2 sunloungers and an umbrella by the beach are included which was ideal. We spent most of our time at the beach. We also went to the pool on 2 of the days for part of the day and didn’t have trouble finding sunloungers (although on arrival day it did look full). There was a handy bar in reception where you could get breakfast (very large pastries $5, yoghurts, fruit etc) if you don’t want to eat in the restaurant or venture out. We didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant or try the food at the pool. Would definitely stay here again if coming to Clearwater.

After an absence of a few years from our Annual celebratory vacation at the Wyndham Grand in Clearwater, my wife and I booked our trip a few months ago for a return visit to Clearwater beach, which we fell in love with 14 years ago during our first visit to the Beach.
We had booked and communicated with the first GM David Yamada in late 2022, who grew to be more of a friend with each passing year. Sadly, I learned from his wife of his passing earlier this year after he had worked on a successful transfer to a new ownership group who brought in a new management company to run the Property while keeping the Wyndham name.
We debated about our trip but wanted to visit the Property to remember David and see the changes from 2019.
Fortunately, the Property named as GM Seth McDaniels one of the senior management staff of the new operating Group who worked closely with David and was an obvious choice to run the Property. Mr McDaniels was very courteous to respond to my reach-out and despite being scheduled to be away during our visit, put me in touch with one of his senior staff Nick Darato while we visited. It was very nice of Management to give us a great upgrade as a Diamond Member and extra special while celebrating at Ocean Hai (the best restaurant in the area hands-down) to arrange a nice surprise for my wife and I.
The Property still is awesome, with its location, facilities (gym, pool, spa) staff (shout out to Tammy), Housekeeping (shout out to Lisa) , Pool area (shout out to the towel attendants) and restaurant (shout out to Manger Sergio and Rauf).
Given the addition of new hotels, I saw new faces among staff, which is to be expected and clearly the new GM is building his team to maintain (and grow) the excellent reputation of this property. No easy task with all of the new properties built as well as bring built.
Our stay was great and we thank all the staff for their courtesy, friendliness and service. Clearly GM McDaniels deserves kudos for the seamless transition.
Now a few tips to my fellow travelers.
When the hotel is sold out and there can be line at the elevator, take the elevators around the corner to the 3rd floor and walk over to the room elevators and push down or up for a faster ride to your rooms.
Second I found out the hard way that if your valet auto is parked on floor 4 or 5, you will have to wait a while to have your car brought around (I spoke to Tammy about this)
Third when you receive a voucher that gives discounts ranging from 10-20% to visit various facilities, start with the lobby bar and then if your are visiting Ocean Hai, use that second is worth a 15% discount.
Fourth, these employees work really hard to give you a great experience. Please remember to tip not just Housekeeping, but valet and also the towel attendants (clearly it was unusual because I received the widest smiles and thank yous)
Enjoy the great experience at this wonderful Resort.

So much to say. Starting with the first services agent, Madeeha, who I spoke with prior to our trip. She put me at ease about our reservation which was a little unclear before our trip. Madeeha took the time to listen and emphasize and confirmed everything. A fun perk about the Wyndham Grabd is that your room comes with 2 beach chairs and an umbrella each day as part of the resort fee. I haven’t found another beach property that does that. Also, making requests for housekeeping or other questions was so way too do via text message. The hotel gives you the option to text with them and the response time is very quick. Extra has a bunk bed room that has a pool/beach view. It was perfect! Good space and many drawers and closet space to unpack and organize. Housekeeping staff was so nice and did a great job tidying our room! The pool and hot tub area are well kept with pool towels easily accessible. One thing to note in November is that the sun hits pool area starting around 11am and by 2pm the whole area sees sun. We would just do the beach in the morning and head to the pool in the afternoon. This is one of our favorite properties to stay at when in Clearwater Beach. You cannot beat the location. We could walk everywhere and the Jolly Trolley stops nearby for longer distances. Thank you for the beach vacation we had hoped for!!

First of all I'll state the positives: most of staff was very attentive and plesant Good location right across the beach Decent breakfast Good ocean view from room What i did not like was paying a resort fee although we did not use beach chairs since it was too cold nor did we use the pool or hot tub for the reason being that the hot tub was full of screaming kids for the majority of the time and way too small for such a large property, pool was also crowded with unruly children. I also felt that the 9% charge attached to the dining or cocktail bill was nickle and diming and we are expected to tip 20% on top of that. The guest rooms were spacious carpets need cleaning or done away with and why is there one chair at the dinette table in the corner of room what if a coule orders room service where is the other suppose to sit and eat on the chaise lounge or bed ? The bathrooms should have a hand held shower and a magnifying mirror at the sink like most of the 4 star hotels these days. All in all our stay wasn't horrible but we expected better..

Wyndham Grand is a pristine and large higher end hotel Front entrance and lobby areas are stunning and spotless. Front desk clerks are friiendly and helpful. It is directly scross from a beautiful and inviting beach. Be aware though, you have to pay $40 per day for parking. Only choice is valet. This fee is too high. We were not made aware of this fee until we arrived. Additionally, there is a charge of $35 daily resort fee, which allows you to use 2 beach chairs and umbrella.

The Wyndham Grand was the perfect hotel for a long weekend getaway for our anniversary. The hotel was beautiful, clean and new. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. They had accommodated an earlier check in where we got into our room as soon as we got there and upgraded us for our special weekend(without even asking them to do so!) This allowed us to get the max out of our short stay. They also surprised us and gave us champagne and strawberries one night it was so sweet ! ….The hotel offers complementary (free) lounge chairs and umbrella at the beach & a $30-$45 up charge if you choose to stay in a cabana with a daybed or loungers. The hotel is located in a prime location next to pier 60 ,the heart of clearwater beach. The pool was small for the amount of guests but the lively music, waiting service and bar was a great addition and you go to Clearwater Beach for the Beach anyways! Would definitely recommend and be returning :)

Don’t look any further. This is the resort at which to stay. Top drawer service is provided by all team members from the restaurant and the pool to the cleanliness of rooms and public areas. It is clear that training is a priority for this entire operation. Thank you to the entire team and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

We recently enjoyed another wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. This time, we splurged on an oceanfront room, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The sunsets were simply stunning. The room itself was impeccably clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hotel's location is perfect, with the beach just steps away. The staff, from the front desk to cleaning ladies were all very courteous and helpful. We also had a delicious dinner at Ocean Hai. We highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Clearwater. Our only complaint was the very sharp corners of the bed frames. Unfortunately, I bumped my leg, resulting in a hematoma. We recommend considering protecting the corners with guards or opting for a larger mattress to cover the sharp corners.

We loved where this Hotel is situated on Clearwater Beach, so we decided to stay here for a 5-day vacation. The Hotel itself was clean and their main restaurant had very good food, but we did have some issues that weren't really settled, just acknowledged with a promise they will try harder. While at the pool someone found a bloody tampon on the floor of the pool and when the staff was alerted, they really didn't know what to do, so they quietly had the person who found it scoop it up with a net and then the staff put it in a bag. There were family's swimming nearby not even knowing what was going on next to them and I'm sure if they did, they would have exited the pool. They had a staff member come over to check chlorine levels etc. I guess to make sure they were up to par, but that was all that was done. We were a little shocked, but I guess that all they have to do. We were also misled about the tipping practice at the pool bar and tipped more then we should have. Even though we are Wyndham rewards members, we were not getting any discounts, and this is a very expensive hotel. We booked our trip thru one of the travel sites and got a much better rate. Even though we are Wyndham rewards members, we received no credit for this stay in the form of points because we did not book thru Wyndham. Needless to say, we will be cancelling our membership.

We visited in mid-November 2024 and had a great time at this hotel. While there were several areas businesses affected by the hurricane and not accessible or open, our three-day stay was still amazing. The biggest issue is the $40 resort fee. Here’s the catch: if you don’t use the beach chairs, you’re not charged the fee. For example, if you go to the beach and sit down, there are people in blue shirts who ask if you’re staying at the Wyndham. If you are, they say “chairs are complimentary with your stay” but they’ll ask you to fill out a tablet and leave a tip. Take the tip off! A cheaper alternative would be to just buy your own chairs rather than paying $40 each day for two.
Our room was in a great location and was very clean. They also provided robes, which I really appreciated. The pool was nice, too. The only other issue is I felt like they were being sneaky with the resort fee. I talked to someone that said it was $36 then online it says $35 per day then charged $39 with some change. Also, they did refuse to give us the access code for the WiFi. Overall, we had a good time though.

I don’t know the answer due in part to using the pool everyday I was there. When I wanted to swim in the Gulf, all I did was cross the street and I was on the beach. If you don’t ask, you’ll never know.
There are more places to choose from in the Clearwater area.
