My husband and I visited the JW Marriott for an anniversary daycation on November 12, 2024.
I called the spa in advance to ask about any specials and they offered a nice discount for locals (valid Monday to Thursday). My husband and I booked massages. Spa services also come with a day pass for their rooftop pool and we were encouraged to come prior or stay after our massages to take advantage of some pool time.
We booked 4p massages and arrived several hours earlier to spend some time at the pool.
I have to say that this day happened purely by luck as we only booked a day prior and it was the most perfect anniversary - I dare say magical.
From the moment we arrived every single employee we encountered delighted us with their attention, kindness, efficiency and wonderful service.
Beginning with the valet - to the front desk - to Amanda and Miranda at the Spa - the pool staff - Kim at the pool bar - the dinner hostess at The Deep End restaurant and lastly Megan our server for dinner at The Deep End - every single person made us feel happy and cared for.
Our day began with a visit to the seventh floor spa where we checked in for our massages and were given lockers. Amanda then escorted us to the eleventh floor pool where she handed us off to the pool staff who promptly set us up with chairs, towels and an umbrella.
We then walked over to The Deep End restaurant where we sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. We chatted with bartender Kim who had moved here recently from Denver and was originally from St Lucia. We noticed the restaurant menu looked intriguing and Kim told us about a few of his favorites so we decided we would come back to the restaurant after our massages to enjoy dinner and the sunset views.
Our massages wrapped up just after 5pm and we were greeted by a special treat from Amanda and Miranda - chocolate covered strawberries and an anniversary card.
The evening was the absolute cherry on top.
The Deep End hostess helped us secure the best seats in the house where we watched a spectacular sunset over the Gulf of Mexico while sipping complimentary anniversary Prosecco offered by Megan, our server.
Megan truly is in a class of her own with her warm heart, engaging conversation and exquisite service. She topped our day with a truly special experience.
PS - the grouper was just as good as both Kim and Megan said it would be!

This was an amazing experience overall. The room was perfect, the room attendant on the 10th floor was very friendly and made the room fit for royalty. I would also like to recognize James B at valet for right from start to finish going above and beyond with his kindness , attentiveness, attention to detail, and all of his recommendations for where to go and which places to eat turned out perfectly which made my experience at the JW even better, in which I was able to utilize the l location.

We had dinner at Lattitudes at the Marriott. At a JW Marriott you expect great restaurant experience. But our great experience went beyond the restaurant. Valet parking was beyond expectations. Ricky, Erik, and Preston provided service that included directions to restaurant, walked around the car to verify no damage before they drove it. And then when we picked up our car after dinner,asked if we needed corrections, wanted a bottle of water, etc. This service completed the great evening we enjoyed.

Jw Clearwater is the best! My daughter wanted to stay for her 8th birthday!!! We had coordinated with Kimberly and she had organized some special surprises. We checked into the room which had JW Barbie on the room The whole room was decorated BARBIE style!!! it was wonderful pink and lots of balloons. there was also some fun little gifts on the table The day of her Birthday we were given a pink birthday girl sash for her to wear. On the day of her birthday Kimberly had organized for her name to be written in the sand saying happy Birthday!!! She had requested to get a mani and pedi at the salon. Miranda at the spa had organized her favorite snacks and her favorite drink in a champagne flute. She had a wonderful mani and pedi by a lovely lady at the spa. Everywhere we went everyone said Hi Barbie!!! it made it so special. We had a lovely meal at the Deep End and they all sang Happy Birthday to her. This birthday She said was the best ever!!! What wonderful service and how everyone went above and beyond to make it special.

We loved everything about this resort. The staff was warm and friendly from check in to check out. The beach staff greeted us by name, were attentive and wouldn't let us lift a finger. They heard us chatting about going across the street to get some noodles and rafts and went to get some that we didn't know the resort had. Then they brought them to us every day without asking. The food and drinks were amazing. Yes, you pay the higher price, but we decided it was worth it some days! The adult grilled cheese and truffle fries were addicting! We didn't bring a vehicle, but they offered us water each time we waited for an Uber. Most of the time we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The small grocery right across the street was convenient and local restaurants with a variety of options. We had a group of friends in a 3br/3br and it was amazing with balcony beachfront views. We saw manatees every day, dolphins and some rays. I usually prefer to stay on beachfront/long walking beach properties and this resort has changed my thoughts. We can't wait to return:)

The JW Marriott is recently refurbished, and it is spectacular. It seems like every surface shines. The lobby and guest rooms are spotless. The hotel is set on a cove with a small beach. It is quiet with calm water.
Breakfast was a la carte during the week, a buffet over the weekends. These were beautiful: gourmet pastries, fruit, made-to-order eggs.
The lobby bar and cafe took care of between-meal snacks and drinks. Something for everyone.
The rooftop pool and hot tub featured exceptional sunset views.
The highlight of the JW Marriott was its staff. I was there under somewhat difficult circumstances, and the staff were remarkable. They were gracious hosts, warm, welcoming, and they seemed sincere and happy help at every stage.
The JW Marriott is also an easy trip: it is not difficult to reach from the Tampa International Airport. Although there is an array of activities and dining nearby, one could easily just stay on property and enjoy fine food, a lovely view, and kind service.

Our 1st time in Clearwater and a special occasion, our anniversary. I choose JW as much as possible when celebrating because I can count on a certain level of service. This property lives up to that in most areas. It is impeccably clean. The location is PERFECT. Walking distance to everything. Food and drinks on the property are expensive compared to all the other options around, but staff were great about letting us know where all the better tasting and cheaper options were. We are foodies and love to explore locally. Next the room. Please understand if you book an Intracoastal Waterway, you will have to look past a dirt parking lot. When I saw intracoastal waterway, I was thinking about a beautiful view we had once in Fort Lauderdale. This was nothing like that. LOL. The water in the background and view of the city was great for us though, but I will keep that in mind in the future. Only other issue was that bathroom was very tiny. The room had a refrigerator which was a nice surprise. Clean balcony. My only real issue was the friendliness of the staff. Upon arrival, only car there and valet never acknowledged us until my husband got out and approached him. Front desk did not acknowledge our special occasion and it was on the reservation. Beach attendant acted like he did not want to be there. But then the bartender and rooftop restaurant staff were very nice. As well as the staff in the cafe (by the way cafe food is hands down best tasting on the property). So, with all that said we would likely stay here again, but definitely lower expectations on certain points.
