The Hiatus Clearwater Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton stands out for its prime location close to the beach, which garners high praise from guests. While the hotel's chic decor and modern atmosphere provide a relaxed setting, some travelers have expressed discontent with the value, pointing out steep parking fees and lackluster customer service.
Although the spacious, modern rooms and cleanliness are commended, concerns over maintenance and housekeeping consistency remain. Amenities like the attractive pool are popular, yet the high cost of valet parking has not gone unnoticed.

New hotel, room is clean and spacious. The bed is comfortable! Nice design for the shower, toilet and sick spaces with doors to separate the three. Only valet parking is available and pricy but valets are very attentive and helpful! Restaurant service is good and food is okay. If you are Hilton Honors diamond or gold Memeber and looking for late checkout beyond 11am regular check out time, be prepared to pay fees.

New and nice hotel. Rooms are inviting, clean, modern and later out well. Good location on the island and located close to everything you might want. We didn’t eat but reviews for food was good. Really the only negative is the pool. While heated it is very small and 8 beds. Even during our one night stay it was full. They appeared to be short handed because one young lady seemed to be running back and forth manning both the inside 7th floor bar and pool bar and food on top of that. But she handled with grace. Of course this is a boutique hotel so we get it. Just depends on what you are seeking. If a nice location and beach it’s just fine. If a resort layout best to try one of the new Opal properties or Sand Pearl.

The Hiatus Curio by Hilton is a lovely hotel perfect for a weekend getaway with friends and family. Located in the heart of Clearwater Beach, the newly constructed property overlooks the Gulf providing stunning views of the sunset from the rooms, lobby, pool, and hotel bar. The clean, cozy, and elegant atmosphere at the hotel is quite inviting and makes it such a great stay. In addition, the pier, beach, and restaurants are within steps from the hotel. With convenient parking and amenities, this location is great for a family vacation with activities/attractions like downtown St. Pete, the Dalí museum, and Fort Desoto State park. I had an absolutely amazing stay here from the rooms to the service and I highly recommend booking at this property!

The hotel is charming, clean, and ideally located right in front of the beach. The food was the highlight of my stay, with every item on the menu being excellent. Alex Vega, one of the restaurant managers, provided the best customer service I have ever experienced in a hotel, and I travel frequently. He was extremely nice, attentive, and consistently checked in on guests to ensure the food was appreciated and to see if anything else was needed. His exceptional service is the main reason I added an extra star to my review. The waitstaff and valet attendants also provided outstanding customer service, earning a 10/10 rating from me. Additionally, the hotel offers luggage storage on the day of departure, allowing guests to enjoy the beach a bit longer before heading to the airport, which was a significant plus.
Now, for the negatives...
1/ There was construction in a nearby building starting at 6 AM, which was very loud and disrupted our sleep. The hotel did not provide any advance notice of this work, otherwise, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.
2/ Despite the rooms being clean, it was extremely difficult to get housekeeping services. I usually prefer daily cleaning, especially when staying at a beach hotel. However, during our five-day stay, our room was cleaned only once, on the fourth day, and the cleaning was minimal (beds made and towels provided). The reason given was that it was Christmas week, which I do not consider a valid reason for neglecting guest rooms.
3/ The handheld showerhead in the room was beautiful but non-functional. Upon inquiry, I was informed that this issue affected all rooms in the hotel. While the fixed showerhead worked fine, I prefer having a functional handheld showerhead if it is provided.
4/ Valet parking is $31 per night, with no alternative parking options available.
5/ I was disappointed with the front desk service from the Assistant Manager. I think Paul was his name. As a Hilton Diamond member, I have stayed in many Hilton hotels and have never been denied a one-hour late checkout. Paul refused my request, citing expected guests, and displayed a dismissive attitude when I expressed my disappointment. This was my first encounter with such behavior from a Hilton employee, which negatively impacted my perception of the Hiatus front desk staff. However, Paul did redeem himself slightly by allowing us to use the reception area bathrooms to change after returning from the beach before heading to the airport.
All in all, I will not book this hotel again, BUT I will certainly book a reservation for their restaurant which really was the highlight of my stay. Thank you, Alex Vega! T

Let’s start with the positive: the hotel’s location is perfect with the beach directly across the street, the rooms are spacious and we had a partial ocean view. The shower was pretty small compared to the rest of the size of the bathroom. Being a new hotel everything was nice and clean.
We had 1 appetizer and drink which were both good.
Negative: There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO customer/guest service at this hotel. For them to be boutique hotel in the luxury space they 100% dropped the ball at every chance!! We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and I called the hotel to see if they would do anything for us and straight up said no we don’t! At check in they failed to share that they do the sunset champagne toast. We asked through their messaging system for extra towels which never came after 2.5 hrs and had to ask again. As a Hilton gold member we get $15/person per day credit for breakfast but the 2nd night of our stay the credit was not applied and have since followed up twice and still no response or update. We asked for a simple 1hr late checkout again was abruptly denied that request. With all these guest service issues I asked to speak with the GM and was told I would get a call in 1-2 business days and again that also hasn’t happened.
Personally for the price of this hotel I’d stay at one of the many other luxury hotels in Clearwater beach that are in the same price point that offer even a little guest service.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Hiatus for a weekend getaway, and while there were some positive aspects, I felt compelled to share a few important warnings for potential guests.
Construction Noise First and foremost, be aware that there is significant construction happening at the hotel. Starting at 6 AM each morning, the noise can be quite disruptive. If you’re someone who enjoys sleeping in or needs a quiet environment to relax, this may not be the best choice for you. It’s a shame, as the hotel has a lot of potential, but the early morning construction work really detracted from our overall experience.
Fire Alarm Incident To add to our discomfort, on our first night, the fire alarm went off at 2 AM. Understandably, this can happen from time to time, but what was concerning was the lack of response from the front desk. The next morning we asked the front desk for more information, but we received no acknowledgment of the incident. This left us feeling quite unsettled during an already stressful situation.
While the Hilton has some appealing features—such as its location to the beach and amenities—I would recommend considering these factors before booking your stay. If you value peace and quiet during your stay, it might be wise to look elsewhere until the construction is complete.

1st of all, let me start with the positives, the location is great, we spent the afternoon by the pool having lunch and a few drinks which was all lovely! Really pleased with all this and the service was great!
However…..
We booked this hotel months ago as a special treat for the family. On arrival we noticed a large building site next to the hotel (see pictures). I asked for our room to be away from this as we checked in but was told that wasn’t possible. I asked to speak to a manager, Paul dealt with our compliant. I asked why we weren’t told about the building site in advance as other hotels (internationally) would inform you in advance as a matter of courtesy so that you can make an informed decision, Paul (who said he was the manager) said and I quote, ‘the owners have chosen not to tell anyone as this would stop people booking’! The staff on reception also agreed guests should be told in advance. Clearly the owners here are more interested profit over guest experience. I wouldn’t have booked this hotel if I’d have known. There are many others to choose from. Additionally, our room had a large concrete wall on the balcony which completely blocked any view (see pictures) therefore a waste of time, just awful! I told Paul I would leave a review expressing my disappointment, didn’t seem to bother him, he just smirked and shrugged his shoulders which I guess says it all!
A vacation tainted by greedy deceitful owners and a manager who didn’t care, shame on you!
I hope my review and the pictures supports potential future guests in their decision making, if you want to hide the reality of a building site as a view, I won’t!

Front Desk Manager Paul is not customer service friendly at all. I am a 7 year diamond member with over 100 nights stayed this year. I have never come across such a dry manager who isn’t willing to be reasonable. My work travel site accidentally made 2 reservations for the same night the day of and cancelled one right away. They charged me for both rooms and they weren’t fully booked. No flexibility and I highly recommend not staying there. I don’t ever leave negative reviews at all so that should speak volumes about how they run this place. My other work partner was charged over 500 dollars for a room that he locked in at 350 and had to fight to get it corrected.

Arrived late evening and as we made our way to reception, received a text asking if we wished to tip the valet. Valet parking is $31 per night with no alternative. No mention of Hilton status at reception and shunted off to a room at rear of hotel. Room was spacious and bright and, at that stage, quiet. Awakened next morning just after 6am with noise of construction work and trucks. I attach an image the wonderful exterior view from our room. Hotel gave no advance warning of this work otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. This noise continued for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was far short of the usual Hilton spread. On departure we had some dollars to spend before returning to the UK but lady on reception said they did not accept cash. Again we had no prior warning of this. In summary, this is a Hilton in name only and is not recommended.

Family of four stayed in a two queen room. Room was large compared to other places we have stayed. Had a nice view of the beach. Liked the room layout. The vibe of the hotel is modern Beachy which they did a good job. Staff was very friendly. Valet is very convenient and fast. We liked the roof top pool. The only kind of strange part is that the restaurant is pretty fancy and expensive but people are basically walking through the restaurant to get to the pool in their bathing suits. But not that big a deal.
