Hotel Cabana has a rich, multi-decade history. Originally built in 1947 as a single story building and named Coca Cabana, our hotel has always been a haven for laid-back sun lovers to enjoy the beach in a warm and welcoming environment. We've had many names - including most recently the Hotel Cabana, but we've always had a common goal: to welcome people to Clearwater Beach, one of the most beautiful places on earth. We hope to see you soon and again in years to come!

Detailed Reviews
My family and I stayed at this gem of a hotel for a short beach getaway in the two-bedroom vacation rental a block from the main hotel. This was our first trip to Clearwater Beach and I much appreciated all of the information on Hotel Cabana's website about parking, nearby restaurants, etc. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the hotel is nestled near the residential side of the island in a quiet setting. It was within walking distance to many restaurants, and a beautiful stretch of beach. I loved the main hotel pool and fully anticipated spending my time lounging near it, but the vacation rental on Somerset features a pool right out from of the rooms which was very convenient. The two-bedroom vacation rental is well appointed with plenty of towels and included a full kitchen and 1 full bathroom. Guests at the vacation rental also are provided with a dedicated parking space directly in front of the building on Somerset. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a unique getaway on Clearwater beach.

We really enjoyed the simplicity of this smaller, quiet hotel at the end of the main strip in Clearwater. We stayed in a one bedroom king suite in the newly acquired space across the street from the main lobby. We didn't see the rooms at the main building but our newly renovated room was great and preferred the pool area of this secondary location versus the main building but could use either. The bed was comfortable and the suite was nicely furnished with new furniture and high quality kitchen appliances and everything you'd need for a nice stay. The suite was spacious for just two of us. The bathroom is quite small but had all the necessities and a decent sized walk in shower. Locally roasted coffee available each morning. And some local, craft beers available for purchase in the lobby for a reasonable cost. The lobby is only open 8am to 8pm but that wasn't a bother for us at all. It was nice to have a parking spot right outside of our room. It was about a one block walk to the beach and many restaurants in walking distance less than a mile. It was nice to be able to grab chairs from the hotel to take to the beach. There wasn't an over abundance of them so not guaranteed they will be available for use. If you're looking for a luxurious up scale full service hotel/resort this probably isn't what you're looking for. But if you just want an easy, quiet, comfortable place to spend a few days close to the beach in Clearwater, Hotel Cabana is great!

In March my little family of three stayed in a one bedroom suite for 5 nights. It's been two months and looking through the hotel pictures only brings back fantastic, heartwarming memories. The staff were lovely, the pool and deck so nice and refreshing, the room was cozy and clean. Had some great sleeps in the comfy bed. The coffee in the morning was easy and tasty. Beach was sooooo close and since it's at the northern part of Clearwater Beach, it's much quieter than the other parts. It's a little walk to the main part of the town, but the shopping isn't why you go to Clearwater Beach.
Would especially like to send a big thank you to the housekeeping staff member who helped us call an early morning taxi to the airport when our shuttle showed up without a car seat. Thank you so much! We would've missed our flight if it wasn't for you. Excellent service.
Would recommend to everyone.

If you are looking for a chain hotel, unable/unwilling to walk much or a small bathroom sink will ruin your vacation, then this is probably not the place for you. If you enjoy boutique hotels and can embrace their uniqueness and don't mind a little walking, then Hotel Cabana is a great choice. My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom unit in the hotel section and found it to be very comfortable and clean. Be aware that the kitchen in very limited (only mini refrig, microwave and place setting for 4) so don't plan on much in the way of meal prep but it was sufficient for cereal and snacks and plenty of good and reasonably priced restaurants in the area.. No coffee maker but the coffee poolside in the AM was decent. For location, we appreciated not being in the center of the main drag as it was much quieter yet easily walkable to everything. The beach is one block away and plenty of restaurants, shops, and a CVS are within 1/2 mile with much more within a mile or so. There may be beach chairs/toys under the stairs by the pool (apparently leftovers from prior guests). We had limited contact with the front desk due to Covid restrictions but the young woman was very responsive with our one request. Do be sure you get your check in instructions if you plan to arrive after the front desk closes at 8 pm (although there is an emergency phone number posted on the door if needed). Our only disappointment is that there was no place for recyclables but not sure if this is a lack of hotel or municipality policy. We would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for staying with us and for your detailed review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us on the quiet, but close to everything, north end of the island. We hope you'll stay with us again, and if you do, please let us assist in selecting the perfect suite for your next stay. (This stay, you chose a One Bedroom Suite w/kitchenette, which upon request, we happily provide an in-room coffeemaker, but it not equipped as a full kitchen. We offer full kitchen suites just across the street at our Vacation Rentals.) Hope to see you back on the beach again soon!

The hotel itself was great. Upon check-in, the staff was very helpful at pointing out good places to spend time and eat and attractions. The only downside to the hotel was the shower water pressure was practically non-existant, but other than that the hotel room was very nice and clean. It is a great location right next to the beach.

Decided to stay here to celebrate My boyfriends birthday. So happy we chose this place. Its within perfect walking distance of near by restaurants and beach. Beautiful sunsets. We used an Uber if we needed to travel further which was usually about $5-10. Had to get use to the contact free way of checking in and receipt of info since COVID19. Everything was organized and laid out for you to follow. Premises had ice machine on site and a yummy coffee station in the morning. The room had a romantic chic modern decor and was immaculately clean.. there were excess towels and options to have them refreshed ..there was no house keeping however due to COVID and we were only there for one night. Had it been more nights I would have wanted bed linens to be changed more often. Overall it was an excellent stay and we will definitely be returning to the Hotel Cabana when visiting Clearwater again.

Thanks for staying with us and for your review, Alexa. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and that you plan to return. For the safety of our staff and guests in this new age of COVID-19, we do not enter rooms once a guest has checked-in, but you can easily procure fresh linens by placing what you'd like replaced in the same basket you use to have bath towels replaced. Just place outside your door by 11am, and whatever is in the basket will be replaced by 3pm. Hope to see you back on the beach again soon!

Located at the North end of a row of mid century motels, Hotel Cabana has been beautifully restored with a modern vintage vibe. Great toiletries and linens, and a gorgeous heated pool and patio area. The staff was warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Free parking and pre-pay metered parking if free parking is not available (and still cheaper than many other resorts). It is on the quieter end of the island and a short walk to the pier, shops and restaurants, which was no problem for us. Our A/C unit was a little loud, so this could be an issue if you are a light sleeper, but not an issue for us. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Married couple in 50s headed to Clearwater for a 4 night stay without breaking the bank. Although an older hotel it's quaint, modernly updated and clean! Our room had a separate living space with a very small bathroom (hairdryer included), kitchenette with a regular coffeemaker but no toaster. Located on a quiet corner on the very north end, across the street was access to the beach but a good walk to local restaurants. Hotel staff were very nice, we enjoyed the small pool area which was tropical with a cute sitting area in the evening. They do need to work on the wooden deck. If going to the beach bring or rent beach chairs and umbrella.

My wife and I had a great stay at Hotel Cabana. From the ease when direct booking, a call prior to the visit to ask questions , checking in and the facilities we were extremely impressed. The staff is top notch and were very pleasant to us. Upon check in we were upgraded to a one bedroom at the building across the street and appreciate them doing so. Our room overlooked the heated pool and was nicely decorated and clean. Staying 5 nights the extra space came in handy. Can't stress enough that the Hotel Cabana is a great little hotel. The location worked great for us as we liked the quieter north end of the beach. Parking was not an issue during our stay and liked that each night we could walk the uptown to eat and not pay for parking. Some beach chairs were available to use and that came in handy. Thanks again to the folks at Hotel Cabana and we will be back!

We booked this hotel based on many of the positive reviews and the attractive price. I normally like to go oceanfront resort but the reviews made me curious about this little spot.
Location:It's at the end of a very busy strip of shops and restaurants and adjacent to a cute residential area. Parking is available and free when you stay here. Beach is right across the street, a 2 minute walk.
Check in was easy, a small office open from 8-8, and there's a little cooler in the corner filled with drinks and beers you can buy.
The room is small, well equipped, very clean and pretty. There's a small refrigerator. Note to owners: some hooks in the bathroom would be great for hanging bathing suits and towels.
There's coffee in the AM, in the laundry room housing a washer and dryer which is available for guests.
My favorite is the pool area: comfortable sitting and lounging,
surrounded by beautiful Palm trees filled with singing birds. Very peaceful and zen like and it does feel like an oasis from the very crowded, noisy strip. The pool is heated, so lovely to swim.
If l were to return to Clearwater would definitely stay here.

Hi!
Yes, parking was limited. It took us a minute to find a space when we returned from dinner later that night.
We are not on the beach, but just a short walk across the street to the beach.
