Housekeeping did not change the bed sheets, towels or anything during our stay our room was always avoided. When you call housekeeping nobody ever answers the phone. When you stay you do smell a lot of pot, which they need to make a new policy for the place so others can enjoy their stay. The pool and hot tub is only open until 7pm and you don’t get much time to enjoy it during the evening hours unlike other hotels that have their pool open until 11pm.

The room was clean, but the toilet rocks back-and-forth like a rocking chair. The bed was positioned so that you could not close the bathroom door. Thankfully, the bed slid easily.

We were told it was not your usual run of the mill continental breakfast, but that there would be sausage and eggs in the morning, but there was not, only powdered eggs, and biscuits that were as hard as if they had been made a week ago. The waffle iron was broken, the juice machine was broken, and many other things around the hotel were also out of order, including the hot tub, something we had shopped for when booking a hotel.

The front desk staff was very nice, other than misleading us about breakfast, but the girl on the breakfast buffet was very dismissive when we asked about the sausage. She looked at us as though that were a strange request.

This one cannot be blamed on the management of the hotel, but whoever the jerk was that stayed in the room before us set the alarm for 6 AM so we got an early wake up on our vacation. Thanks jerk!

Needs serious updating, and communication amongst the staff to know what to tell people and what not to tell people. Would definitely shop for a different place to stay my next time in Clearwater.

This was probably nice back in the day.

First of all, I requested early and late check in/out. I was not allowed to check in early. Our wing was far from completely booked. We stayed in a suite and although dated, it was nice and tidy.

I specifically booked the hotel for the pool which is adjacent to the bar. Unfortunately the pool loungers are old and broken. The cushions have seen better days. I wasn’t about to lay on them, and the bar is closed during the day so no drinks even if we had layer out. We did decide to try the hot tub. It’s really seen better days. The concrete is cracked, it’s missing tiles and although operable, needs an overhaul. This is really disappointing since it could be quite nice AND you are charged a resort fee for lack luster amenities.

While there, extremely loud music was being played in the parking lot and at one point we could not go outside on our balcony due to the nasty skunk weed being smoked beneath our room. There were many people actually living in the hotel (not due to the hurricane) it was very seedy.

Breakfast is poor. Not much at all for gluten free people. Eggs, sausage links, yogurt, apples . I don’t eat pork so I just had eggs. There was only one kind of yogurt and I am allergic to apples. Wanted to make coffee in my room but the coffee maker was broken. At night we ordered drinks from the bar. The price was different depending on who was bar tending.

Although we wouldn’t stay again, it wasn’t the worst. Would be okay for one night, but only in the suite wing.

After 2 awful stays at Choice Hotel properties earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised with this stay. First off I was warmly greeted by Crystal (I think she spells is differently). She was very friendly and efficient. You could tell she liked her job and took pride in it. My room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. This property has been around quite a while but it is very well maintained. They have a bar on premises along with a full breakfast which has been rare at Choice property since Covid. Also there are plenty or choice very close for pretty much anything you want to eat or do. At check out I was greeted by Crystal with the same enthusiasm. I will definitely stay here on my next business trip to the area

This was the worst hotel. The room was musty, someone pounded on our door at night, they refused to provide room service and clean towels, the breakfast was terrible and they overcharged me based on the confirmation. I never got a response from customer service.

Very disappointed in this hotel. Front desk was extremely rude both times we came to check in. First time we just wanted to make sure we could leave our car there while we went to the game but she was lambasting us before we could ask our question. Then the tone changed and she was apologetic and told us we could check in after the game.
We came back after the game and a new desk clerk cut us off and said check in wasn’t until 4 pm when I asked the time it was 3:40. My bad! I made a comment about strict adherence to the rules and she shot back with a very non-professional comment.
The rooms are very old and musty. The mattresses are ok. Very firm but at least not lumpy. Furniture is at least 40 years old, dark wood, chipped and scratched, and needs replaced.
The pool looks fine until you get closer and it also needs updated and bugs removed.
First and last time at Clarion.

Basic motel room. We asked for non smoking room and what we got was a room that stunk like nicotine. So if that’s okay with you then this place should be fine for you…
Has a nice pool and the bar has some good food available at reasonable prices. That came as a surprise.

Where do I start?? First the shower: no curtain - no none at all, nice curved rod with nothing on it. I was the second to shower and found 3 inches of water in the bathtub - pretty gross. When I finished there were 6 inches in the bathtub. Good there wasn't a third and fourth.

One of two table lamps had no bulb, yeah nothing. The vanity lights in the bath were missing one of four. The safe did not work. We had 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels for a room for 2 plus people. Of course since there was no shower curtain maybe we weren't supposed to use any towels.

Hot breakfast consisted of a bag with a Lucky pastry wrapped in plastic, vintage 1980, a bottle of water and an energy bar which I wouldn't give to my neighbor's nasty dog.

All this for the bargain price of about $200!

I suspect they were pretty full from the number of what I believe to be 10 or more families of Latin American descent which I suspect were uninvited guests.

Staff was extremely rude and refused to give me a refund when I complained about the bugs. They said, "welcome to Florida " and said my attitude was the reason they wouldn't give me a full refund. There were small bugs crawling all over the walls and a giant cockroach by the bed. They offered a different room, which I refused d/t the smell and condition of the property.

The room is comfortable. There are no housekeeping services and we were not informed of this until we checked in. We have to swap out our used linens between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm by taking them to the laundry room. If we missed the 2:00 deadline, we had to wait until the next morning. We were only allowed three sets so two of us could not shower in the evening and in the morning without reusing the towels and wash clothes. The room was not cleaned and the trash was not removed our entire five night stay.

I don't know what TV provider this hotel has. But, since I am a member of choicehotels they gave me an upgrade to a great and huge room with 2 TV sets, a balcony, etc. Great staff! And the location is great as well! I would highly recommend this hotel.
