Grotty room and filthy carpet you literally need to put shoes on to walk around the room.
We were there 2 nights Saturday and Sunday and we had very little sleep due to excessive VERY loud music BLASTING from the hotel nxt door till 2 am. Then till 1 am Sunday.
Air con is so noisy as well so that’s kinda drowns out some of the noise.
Pool/beach was overrun Saturday but a lot quieter Sunday.
Not sure why you need a wristband to access the private beach/pool they don’t provide anything like towels/beds /chairs etc.
Beach is much nicer further along.
God help anyone staying at the Shepards hotel nxt door if they want some peace and quite it was shaking the floor in our room it was that loud.
Pay a little more and stay further along or get a room well away from shepards hotel.
We were glad to leave this hotel.
But Clearwater is a beautiful place with many nice restaurants glad we visited.

Upon checking in an hour early, we were assigned a room. After lugging all our luggage to the 3rd floor on the ONE delapadated elevator, we found the door to the room open and the beds stripped. I called the desk and was told “oops, come back to get a new room” no apology from blonde haired lady at the front desk. She just said she can’t see well without her glasses. Ok so now In room 343. Very basic, run down room but clean. Got unpacked and put on swimsuits and went to the pool. The private beach is fantastic, and this is the one plus, sunsets are amazing too. The pool, however is very very small and dated, the hot tub does not get hot.You must pay to rent chairs on the beach. The front desk lady could not answer a single question about renting chairs because they are not affiliated with the hotel. This hotel offers zero amenities, no food, no drinks no room service and NO housekeeping. Due to covid they are NOT cleaning rooms. Leave your trash outside your door and they will pick it up. Good luck getting towels because they never seem to have any large ones. The air is loud and the room is musty. You are given bracelets for pool and beach but no one checks. The location of the hotel itself is great, and walking distance to food and shops. We saw Dolphins swimming every day of our trip from the beach. This was amazing.
The jolly trolley stop is across the street and will talk you down the strip and I believe it’s free. Taco Bus is a great place to eat and I do not recommend the putt putt golf unless you have a few hours. It’s 19 holes and takes forever. I would also recommend you consider increasing your budget and stay at a better hotel.
Valentina, at the front desk, was so friendly and helpful! We had a great view of the water from our balcony and the room was everything we could want, comfortable beds, cold refrigerator, and good air conditioning. We never had a problem with parking the car in the hotel (free) lot. We loved the pool deck, right on the beach. The bands at Shephards next door were loud but when we closed the balcony door it blocked the noise. Actually we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, listening to the music!
Everything you need is in walking distance, restaurants, groceries, liquor store, and miniature golf. I wouldn't hesitant to book here again as it's a great value for this location.
Inside the hotel the smell of marijuana is almost unbearable. Now we know why the doors were all propped open when we got there. The inside is in major need of upgrading. The luggage carts are all different and they, along with the ice.machine, all have names with laminated signs attached to them telling to be careful with the "staff" as they are overworked. And FYI, do not try and fill your yeti cup with ice, apparently that is considered a cooler and that is not allowed.
Inside the room I thought I took a trip back to the 70's. The thick green curtains were something from a museum. The shower rod was very loose and almost falling off. The fan in the bathroom barely worked. The light fixtures were from the same era as the curtains. Our room had a small sink with a two burner stove on it, we didn't try it. There was a small fridge under it and then directly across from this was another small fridge. The outdoor balcony was nice but the music from the hotel 2 places away kept us up til 1am. The electrical outlets will not keep anything in as they are so loose the charger for my cell phone kept falling out.
There is a sign at the desk that says they don't do daily room cleaning and I am not sure if it is weekly either. You are to place your trash in bags out in the hall and someone will get it later. There are two washers and dryers but no laundry detergent.
Overall, glad we only stayed one night but next time I will pay more and go somewhere else.
My suggestion would be, to add a two bottles of water per room and they can charge the guest if they want to drink the water ( just put tags on it), because that would be convenient( we have been drinking bottles of water, not a fan of florida tap water, there is a funny taste to it, even in the restaurants) and maybe change the hallway lights, for more nicer aesthetic look, put extra mat or change it to a longer one in the ground elevator entrance because I feel like its a little too short, can be quite a little dangerous if you are wearing slippers, I notice that area tends to collect a puddle of water on the right side are that the wasn't covered by a mat. Lastly, maybe have an additional filter in the hallways.
