We were flying in to Melbourne Intl from the UK and booked three nights at the Inn at Cocoa Beach to get rid of our jet lag and have some time at the beach.
The hotel is in a central area in Cocoa Beach. There is beach access right at the back of the hotel via a gate near the pool and you can walk to Ron Jon’s and several other restaurants and shops.
The hotel is very much ‘old Florida’ and we love that. Relatively low rise and painted Floridean pink, it has very well kept garden and pool areas as well as free parking and friendly staff.
We booked a sea view room. In fairness, we could see the sea but a higher floor in the central block would be better if that’s important for you.
The room was reasonably large with all the facilities you’d expect and a private terrace with rocking chairs (very nice). I’d say the room furnishings are a little ‘tired’ and a refurb’ is due. However, the hospitality makes up for it.
There’s always free coffee etc from the lobby. Every day ,they offer complimentary cheese and wine late afternoon and there’s a useful and reasonably priced honour bar where you can get everything from a coke to a martini!
The big plus for us was the breakfast - also included. Served in a lovely terrace room by some very charming staff, it includes homemade quiche, muffins and all the usual items. It’s not an extensive choice - but it is very good.
Every now and then, the reception is graced by some very cute dogs and you make also encounter the parrots.
If you are interested, you get a good view of Cape Canaveral’s launch pads just from the beach at the rear of the hotel.
A lovely place to stay. Could do with a little updating but it more than makes up for it with charm.

I cannot say enough to express how much I love this Inn! It is charming and welcoming with some personal touches that make it feel so inviting such as the living-room like lobby and of course the two resident small dogs Lily and Lucy! The grounds are well-kept, our rooms were spotless. Everyone was so friendly and nice. There is a fresh breakfast every morning, two resident parrots and iced tea and coffee always available in the lobby, relaxing and well maintaine pool area. There is also an honor bar and a refrigerator stocked with a variety of drinks and water. The location is also amazing, across Alan Shepard Park from the beach. They have beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for guests. Room sizes and styles vary, so make sure you specify when you make your reservation. We will try to make this an annual destination!

The Inn at Cocoa Beach in Cocoa Beach Florida is a perfect place to stay if you are going to the beach for a relaxing holiday. It is located directly behind the world famous Ron Jon’s right off North Atlantic Highway. Upon entering the front Lobby you feel you have stepped into a French Country home. Check in us easy with the friendly staff. You are offered fresh baked cookie. In the late afternoon, there is a Happy Hour in a gathering room that is decorated in a comfortable French Country style. They offer a very nice complimentary breakfast which is served in a large dining room with lots of natural light streaming through the windows that go across the entire back wall. Walk through the French doors and you are in the courtyard that leads to the patio and pool. When you are ready to go to the beach, an attendant will assist you with towels and beach chairs. The beach is right across the short walkway to the sandy beach and the mighty Atlantic Ocean.
There are lots of excellent restaurants near by, many which have live entertainment in the evening. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well appointed. Comfortable beds await after a fun filled day at the beach or shopping at many of the local shops. Rates are reasonable for a retired lady! If you are into keeping in shape, they have a fitness center and of course a gift shop! This is our favorite place to stay when we feel the call of the beach.

Very clean and by far the best air conditioning unit I’ve ever had at a hotel. Room 202 was small, especially the bathroom. If you are staying for more than one night, or with two guests in a room, I’d recommend opting for a larger room. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable. No microwave or refrigerator in room so be sure to bring/purchase a cooler if staying multiple nights. No ice machine on premises, 7/11 in walking distance to purchase ice. Breakfast was good, freshly made crust less quiche and muffins. Kitchen staff/cook was very nice. It was not buffet style as someone else had mentioned in reviews. Honor bar is a good idea and nice that it’s open til 2:00am but felt as if certain staff member was watching us to make sure we marked down drinks. All in all it was a clean decent place to stay and basically right on the beach.

The only good thing about this property is its amenities. Good location, beach access, free beach chair and umbrellas to check out, decent breakfast, free parking, and free wine and cheese in the evenings. Now for the bad - rooms are very very small and need updating big time, pillows and sheets are paper thin, housekeeping a joke (bed 1/2 way made up and emptied trash cans left out in the middle of the bathroom and bedroom, ice machine still broken since my last visit (ice bucket in the room was the smallest I've ever seen), and the front desk staff were rude and un-personable. It was like they didn't care if I was there or not. In fact, one couldn't even say good morning when I said good morning to her - she just stared at me. Next cruise I will stay at one of the newer hotels closer to the cruise port.

While the amenities are attractive in print, we would have preferred an updated bathroom where you turn on the sink and shower without struggling to do so. I read the "brochure" before we went for our stay and certainly did not expect the oldest room in the place! No view but a parking lot. The bathroom was circa 1950 - with sink and bath definitely needing replacements!
A glass of wine and some cheese in the sfternoon be damned - I wanted a refrigerator in the room.

What a wonderful surprise the Inn at Cocoa Beach was. This conveniently located beautiful property had such a warm welcoming feel and was a throw back in true hospitality. The unnique 50 room property was right across from the beach with immacuiatly maintained grounds that included a pool, shuffleboard, putting green, hammack, fountains, courtyards, a beautiful deck overlooking the beach, and a variety of seating areas all throughout the property. The breakfast was homemade fresh and delicious which included fruit, mini quiches, homemade muffins and so much more. Coffee, and tea are available 24/7, as is an honor bar. They serve wine and cheese in the afternoon. We had a standard oceanview which was modern and comfortable with rockers on the balcony overlooking the pool and beach. A perfect place to relax or visit all the attractions in the area. One of a kind wonderful must-stay inn!

If you want to be dissatisfied with a hotel, this is the place. Dear at our visit which was on Saturday evening in April was $330 a night almost double any hotel on A1A which would make you think it Hass to be a great place. The place does not even offer you a hairdryer not to mention a refrigerator coffee maker or any convenience that any other hotel would’ve easily provided. If you want coffee, you have to go to the lobby to pour yourself a cup. They promote a breakfast, which is another building and is only offered for two hours , the thing about the place is that the beds were comfortable, but the room overall was terrible. They don’t offer an extra blanket absolutely no amenities except for a bar of soap. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. We immediately checked out and lost our money because we originally booked for two nights of which I could not stomach , staying there another night and went to the Crown Plaza for less than 1/2 the price that has all of the amenities. The place is not very pleasant either. There is no beach view which they say there is a beach and they are oceanfront nothing nice to report about this place, except that it becomes more upsetting that it is the most expensive hotel and offers little to nothing .

So, you've decided to do the 'rights of passage' Orlando theme parks from the UK and do realise that you are stepping into a very well managed corporate America or you perhaps just want to visit Kennedy Space Centre..
Handily, the Inn at cocoa beach is just like your best friends house perched right on the seafront (20metres to dunes/boardwalk) with a very nice pool and the complete antithesis of the generic and anonymous corporate rooms back in Orlando.
After a very friendly welcome from Heidi, You get your own en-suite room (no fridge, but don't panic) which you can park for free right outside of so no bellhop issues here.
Our stay was really like being at your best mates house with nice simple fruit & yoghurt based/coffee/fresh baked muffin breakfast served by friendly people and no shouting at you to tidy your room whilst you either laze by the pool on the deckchairs or borrow a couple and sit on the 30m wide sandy atlantic beach. Being sociable, we were coached back by grapes and cheese and white wine at 1700 each day when we got to meet fellow and interesting travellers like Danny 'unmade bed' Doyle and Laura his lovely wife as well as some newly- weds and other North American natives whom we all helped to put the world to rights with in our very polite english way.
Room was great with comfy queen size, good shower and TV and a small patio with a sea view which we had really missed whilst in Orlando. Evening meal choices abound and have been ranked by the hotel so you can look at menus in advance before taking a short drive or even walk out. As for the lack of a room fridge, there is a very large honesty fridge on the ground floor which is well stocked with water, sodas, wine & beer which we didnt use, having no handle on non-corporate prices after our time at the parks.
My drive to Kennedy space centre was a comfortable 45 minutes and very straightforward, the drive back to MCO was 1 hour . Inland of the Cocoa beach strip you get your shopping malls and it was only on our final day that we found a Steak and Shake..Dohh!!!
We were both so glad that we decompressed at the Inn and both wished that we had split our holiday with more time there rather than the Parks at Orlando.....as you may have guessed from the review we are not teenagers any more and it was incredibly refreshing to be in a genuine adult environment to wind down in.....a very brave operational decision by the Inn's management who obviously run a tight ship. Wholeheartedly recommend to adults for R&R time.

We took a chance on something other than a chain hotel and are so happy that we did. The room and common areas are nicely appointed. You can tell that the innkeepers took great care to add their special touches everywhere down to the toiletries provided. Check-in by Michael was courteous and friendly, the 5PM wine and cheese social was a good way to meet fellow travelers and the breakfast was very enjoyable. The inn is just across the street from Ron Jon's surf shop and very centrally located. A short walk across the public beach access parking lot and you are on the beach. We are dog lovers so we enjoyed meeting Lucy the Shorkie at the front desk too. All in all, this was one heck of an enjoyable stay. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cocoa Beach if you are beach-bound or just want to hang out a little longer after your Kennedy Space Center visit or returning from a cruise at Port Canaveral.
