First time staying at a Homewood Suite and the following is our observations. To concur with other reviewers, the free shuttle service was non existent. We patiently waited at the airport pickup location for an hour and no shuttle. We literally saw other shuttles make at least two rounds of pick ups. So of course we ended up taking a cab to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, check in was fast and efficient and they recognized us as Hilton members providing water and cookies. Upon informing the front desk clerk that the shuttle never picked us up she looked to see if they had the request written down and confirmed they did and with that she apologized without explanation or anything else. The good news is that the room we had was extremely spacious, it had a microwave, full size fridge, stove top, dishwasher and cutlery and plates and a full table. The bed was quite comfortable and all bathroom amenities one requires. It had a nice pool although we did not have time to make use of it. The only restaurant we saw was Wendy's which is literally a 2 minute walk across the parking lot. We found the complimentary breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold offerings. Shuttle experience aside, it is a good hotel to stay at. As a tip, if you are taking a cruise and require transportation to the cruise port they contract with a company ( that most hotels do) that costs $20.00 per passenger. If you arrange a cab, depending on traffic you can get there for around $25.00 for the trip. We had four people so that was a saving of $55 well worth the cab ride.

I stayed here for a week for work. After I returned to the hotel on the 2nd day I found my room was not serviced. I called the hotel the next day to request that they service my room and when I returned at 3pm it had not been done. I had to call the front desk to request it and someone came by at 4:30 to service the room. The room was serviced each day after that but not everything was done. One day my bed was not made but they picked up dirty towels. On various days they didn't replace the towels that were used and on the day before I checked out the took the bath mat and didn't replace it with a clean one while also leaving the only bath towel I had (that I used) and not replacing it with additional. Other days they didn't replenish the wash cloths.
The front desk staff was courteous as was the breakfast staff. I did find the breakfast to be okay, just not great, especially that the eggs were clearly powdered.
After I checked out I called to talk to the manager to provide them with my feedback and I even left a VM but my call was never returned.
Overall the hotel seemed to be very clean and thankfully they have very thick windows to greatly reduce the airplane noise.
The entire time I was there my AC was set to 66 (the lowest it can go) and at no time did it ever get that cold. I think one morning it said the room was at 69 was the coldest I ever noticed. Thankfully there is a fan above the beds. I even asked them to check this but no change.
I would like to stay here again as this is a convenient location to the airport and my past stays here were so much better but I will have to read future reviews to see if they resolved the room service issues. I would also add that my coworker experienced room service issues too.

Front desk staff was very nice. The furnishings and bathrooms are a bit dated and complementary breakfast, strictly average but this hotel worked for a one night’s stay prior to a cruise. We booked the hotel’s cruise package, which allowed us to park our vehicle for 10 days and also offered transportation to the pier.
The only negative thing I would say was I tried to take the hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel and they said it would be about 45 minutes before it could pick me up. Much easier to just hop in an Uber to get to the hotel since it was only 2 miles away from the airport

Awesome hotel to stay prior to a cruise. Clean and good sized rooms plus hot breakfast. I used their free airport shuttle and had no wait time. The hotel lobby is very up to date and staff was very nice. The hot breakfast was not extensive but plenty to fill you up. I love having a kitchen in the room. This will be my new pre-cruise hotel choice going forward.

Ugh! Most horrendous check-in experience I've ever had with a Hilton chain, I don't care if it was near a cruise port. We had checked in 24 hrs in advance, and our room still wasn't ready upon arrival in the afternoon. We had to wait over 2.5 hrs for our room. Staff didn't bother with an apology or even a welcome to us. Other families had upwards of a 3 hr wait! Staff wasn't friendly, and all they said was we're fully staffed. Today, 24 Feb, guests were asking for pool towels, shower curtains for their rooms, and adding insult to injury, they put away the coffee at 1045 am. The only reason didn't give 1 star was had a nice discussion with the day manager who comped us for our check-in experience.

I stayed in Homewood suite by Hilton for 2 nights in April before we went on the cruise ship on Monday. I’m a Hilton Honor’s member for 7yrs, we’ve always stayed one of Hilton for my family vacation, Hampton Inn, hilton garden in and double tree etc… I’ve been very happy with all my stays with Hilton all this years except this time. My room was in As soon as we walked in the room , the unit smelled like old room with old carpet. I turned AC on high to refresh it , thought it can be just Florida humid air. Nope it didn’t go away until we left. There was one sofa bed so dirty and old , I couldn’t believe my eyes how dirty it was. We put bed sheets over to sit on. Bedroom facet was broken , turning more than 360dgree🤬 I went down to Desk and complained, of course there was no other rooms available. They came up fix the shower faucet and gave me more sheets and blankets(because I complained that sheets and blankets were not white and clean) which were cleaner than what we had on our bed. Why couldn’t we have nicer bedding already?? No answer for that…. They couldn’t accommodate us at all for 2nights of staying, I just couldn’t wait till my departure day to cruise. It was horrendous experience I ever had. Do Not Stay here !!! Oh another thing, they offered you a shuttle to the Port?? They charge you $20 per person!! I took Uber for 5of us for $23 ! Cheaper !!!

My family stayed here over Christmas while visiting extended family in the area. It was our second stay because the price and location were right. Our first stay was underwhelming but not bad enough to discourage us from returning based on the location. After our second stay, we will not be back.
Issues we ran into during both visits, but were forgiving of after the first visit because the price and location were right, and we understand this is a mid tier property, not a luxury property: • The whole property is poorly maintained and due for some updates. • The bathtub was stained and there was peeling paint. • Many of the lights in the parking lot were out.
Issues we ran into during the second visit: • The elastic for the mattress pad was so worn out that the mattress pad and fitted sheet wouldn’t stay on the mattress. I woke up multiple mornings laying directly on the mattress after the pad and sheet had come loose. • The lid for the toilet seat broke off and no one came to fix it after I contacted the front desk. • Where the duvet/bed spread should have been, they had put a bed skirt inside the duvet and placed that on top of the bed. • We had a room in the back of the property. For the entirety of our stay, the card reader for the back door (entrance closest to our room) was broken. That meant most of the time we had to walk all the way through the building from the front entrance to access our room. It also meant other guests sometimes propped the door open creating a security issue.
At checkout for the second stay, I complained about the above issues from the second stay, received an apology, and was told I would be given a Hilton HHonors points credit as compensation. Six weeks later, the credit hasn’t shown up in my account. I have called the hotel four times and emailed the manager once without success. Twice the front desk confirmed my credit was in progress, once I was told to call back another time, and once I was told to email the manager. The manager did not respond to the email I sent. I am a Hilton HHonors Diamond member and this property is not up to Hilton’s standards for customer service.

We were very disappointed with this place. Our microwave and coffee maker didn't work, we had no dish towels or dish soap, and there is not much to eat around the Hotel. Some other travelers told us about a place 1/2 mile or so away and it was good but it's about the only place nearby. It took a long time to get checked in and the lady at the front desk seemed to have problems finding our reservations even after my wife showed her the email. We had a wait about 30 t0 40 minutes and they finally got our room. Once in the room we discovered that the shower didn't work but a nice man in maintenance came up and fixed it pretty quickly. We normally stay at Dania Beach but where we usually stay (for a cruise) is about a mile away and we wish we had stayed there again. We won't be staying at this Homewood again.

We spent the night before our cruise and regretted it. I can deal with construction and some noise, but dirty rooms is something I won’t put up with. When we checked in, we were informed that they were oversold, and wanted to know if we would move to a different property at their expense. I let them know we would as long as we had the same type of room since I was traveling with my daughter and son-in-law, and got them a separate bedroom. He wanted to put us in a room with two double beds and I told him no. When we went up to our room that I had reserved It looked like they did a very poor job of cleaning. There was pee and poop on the toilet. We went down to the front desk and told them that while we were at dinner we wanted our room cleaned and the girl said she would take care of it. When we returned about an hour and a half later, it still was not done. I called down to the front desk and spoke with the night manager and he told me everybody was gone and I told him that he would need to come up and clean our bathroom. He showed up with a bath towel and a can of Lysol and attempted to do what he thought it was a good job. I have included a picture of what was still left after he was done, and we will never stay at this hotel again.

Quite possibly the worst Hilton property I've ever stayed in. I've never been to a property in such disrepair. My thoughts are that since the hotel is next to the aiport, they will constatnly get a stream of guests who will need a place to stay, a never ending supply of patrons. Consequently, the hotel does nothing to keep the hotel up to Hilton standards..... where to begin!?
1) The Towels are sandpaper quality and extra small. It literally hurt to dry off. 2) The rooms all smell like smoke or mold. Clearly this property has had some water damage and they have not made any renovations to mitigate the foul smell in the rooms 3) The gym is the most tragic gym I've ever seen in a hilton. They have about 2 cardio machines and nothing else. No free weights, nothings. Shame on Hilton Corporate for allowing this. One reason I stay at Hilton properties as a Diamond member is I can always count on there being a decent gym with either lifting machines or dumbells. This "gym" was tragic beyond tragic. 4) Spanish is the first language here which I didn't think would be problem, except for when two workers attempted to enter my room when I had my do not distrub sign on. When I ran over to the door to stop them, they looked shocked they got caught. The two women only spoke Spanish and I don't speak Spanish so I'm not sure what their excuse was. 5. The TV didn't work and I had to get maitenace to fix the tv. He fixed the tv while taking a phone call from his screaming children on speaker phone, that was interesting to listen to.... again, he spoke Spanish so I have no idea what the kids were saying but listening to them screamy and cry on speaker phone while he worked on the TV for 25 minutes was quite the experience. 6. The breakfast food is inedible.
At the end of the day, I'm hoping Hilton investigates this property - they don't deserve the Hilton brand. For comparison, I'm currently staying in the Reston, Virginia Homewood suites and it is immaculate, bright, friendly staff, outstanding breakfast, incredible gym, lovely toiletrees, functioning electronics, etc.... Literally the opposite of this dump.
