Close walk to the beach, good breakfast, responsive maintenance team, nice pool. My only gripe is them allowing pets. Not a complaint, just a cheerful gripe due to my family having allergies. Despite that, we would stay at this hotel again and take the daily antihistamine lol. One day I may have a family pet or service animal to bring along and appreciate the pet policy!
This hotel is very clean, spacious and convenient! You can walk to restaurants, entertainment and stores. It is close to the beaches as well. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! Check in was quick and easy and the rooms are spacious! The breakfast buffet was good. They had both hot and cold items and the dining area had a lot of space. We would definitely stay there again!
Spent one night here on a road trip across the gulf coast. Very convenient location along the parkway with numerous shops and restaurants close by. The suites we had were clean and large, with comfortable beds. The breakfast also had great options. We would gladly stay here again.
Excellent all around! Lovely facility and very clean. Super friendly staff. Loved the regular size fridge instead of those under-the-counter thingies that all the other hotels have. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. Since it was a Friday, we did not experience the evening social.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Room was clean and welcoming. I like having a suite with a full size refrigerator and microwave as well as the small two burner stove. Traffic is quite busy and the location made it easy for me to get out at a traffic light when I needed to turn left. Breakfast was good with some variety from day to day. Plenty to choose from. Bonus- Joe’s Crab Shack and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company are right next door.
This is a brand new hotel. It is beautifully decorated. It has a onderful pool, hot tub and splash pad for kids. The best Wednesday happy hour and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very conveniently located across from Henderson Beach and other Destin attractions.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's such a beautiful property, close to the beaches and great restaurants. The room was so clean as well as the lobby. Breakfast is included and was simple but delicious. The staff was great too. The pool area was so relaxing. We loved the grill area as well. We cooked our dinner out there on our last night. They have everything you need in your room and on the property. They even have a splash pad for kids. I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could.
Very clean and well kept hotel! Pool and outdoor area were very spacious and also well maintained. I do suggest getting to evening social early as snacks were gone quickly and were gone well before the end of the gathering. Only issue was the breakfast, as 5 days in a row the hot food was cold even shortly after breakfast began but there was a microwave in the area. I would definitely recommend this property!
Our 5 night stay was nothing less than wonderful for this family of 5. I'll definitely recommend these establishment to anyone who's visiting the Destin area. My wife and kids enjoyed the great hospitality the staff have shown throughout our stay.
I typically stay in Marriott hotels for work, but I selected this Hilton property for a 4 night stay because it was only 2 months old and centrally located. I assumed Homewood Suites was akin to Residence Inn, but my experience was anything but positive for the following reasons: Breakfast: 1. Rock-hard, frozen fruit was taken directly from a kitchen freezer and placed into a metal serving tray. After an hour, the fruit had yet to thaw and remained inedible. 2. My coworker became sick after eating a rancid hardboiled egg. The eggs were not cooked on-site but were instead pre-cooked and presumably served past their expiration date. 3. The milk was sour by day 2 and only got worse on days 3 and 4. Evening Socials: 1. The Hilton website advertised 4 evening socials (light snacks with free alcoholic beverages) from Monday through Thursday. In fact, the hotel only offered this amenity on Wednesday evening. A big let down and false advertising/classic bait-and-switch tactics. Cleanliness: 1. I discovered pubic hairs in the shower and closet areas from the prior guest. 2. On day 3, I noticed that my torso, arms, back, and neck were covered in a thick, red, itchy rash. I consulted with my dermatologist who advised that I had contracted Pseudomonas folliculitis (aka “hot tub rash”). I recalled that the hot tub, which I used every day, had heavy sand deposits and would produce a thick foam immediately upon activation of the jets. This was the first and only hot tub I’ve used in months. 3. I was shocked to learn that this hotel is only 2 months old as it already has quite a bit of wear and tear. I realize that some guests can be rough on property that is not their own, but my hunch is that poor maintenance and inadequate cleaning are the more likely culprits. Staff: 1. On only one occasion did I see any property management onsite. This occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 5pm, coincidentally the only day of the “evening social.” Several members of Hilton management led a “site tour” for what I am assuming were Hilton corporate guests (they were holding brown Hilton goodie bags). The management team appeared to be much more interested in pleasing these Hilton employees than in ensuring the needs of the hotel’s guests were being met. 2. The outdoor splash pad was routinely out of order. I observed several disappointed children attempt to turn on the water only to discover that the splash pad was inoperable. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, but they simply responded that they did not know how to turn on the water. Conclusion: I cannot recommend this hotel absent a major management overhaul. There is no excuse for a Hilton property in a resort location that is only 2 months old to have this many issues. I was fooled by the other positive reviews, so I thought it was worthwhile to share my own experience. I’d be happy to discuss these issues further with Hilton corporate’s customer service team.
