We stayed in room 2016 for a week and loved it. The beach view was great. We didn't have issues with cigarette or weed smells while sitting on our balcony as others have had.
The only bad things to note is the couch was not very comfortable and there was no broom in the condo. Any time we've stayed at a condo on the beach, there has always been a broom so we can keep the sand swept up. We probably could have requested one but we didn't bother with it.
The tiki bar and restaurant were convenient, I just wish they stayed open later. The restaurant closes as 4 and the tiki bar closes at 7. If we decided at last minute to eat on site for dinner, it would always be too late. And if we went out for dinner, it would be too late to get a drink when we got back.
My sons enjoyed the pool, they never seemed too packed.
We had a really nice week and would definitely recommend.

The resort is right on the beach. Great location. All rooms have balconies. The room we stayed in was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We had a great beach and ocean view. Now for the not so great stuff. If you want to sit comfortably on the beach you will have to rent beach chairs and umbrella. They are rather expensive. You can take your own but you have to sit behind the rental chairs. Even with Florida being the new virus hotspot, very few people were wearing masks. My family did, we got lots of strange looks, but there were a few others.
There is a restaurant on site the pizza was pretty good. There is also a bar between pool and beach. There is bar service to the beach, but it is only one server.
We would stay here again.

We had a rental at PBR for 4 nights last week. We had a 2 bed/2 bath on the 18th floor. Beautiful view! A little too high for me. The condo was well stocked and decorated with classy/beachy furnishings. The wait for the elevators can be long sometimes but it's July and there's so many people on vacation at the same time.

My only complaint is the beach chairs for rentals. These are $35 for 2 chairs and umbrella for the day and they are pushed right up into one another with barely space to walk down to the ocean for swimming. If you do not rent from them, you are stuck in the hot sand behind the 4-5 rows of crammed in rentals. Signs say you cannot set up your chairs in front of the rentals. It made it difficult to get to the water without hitting people's umbrellas.

My friends and I had to sit behind 6 rows of rental chairs & umbrellas with no view of the water or a breeze. We were confined to Pelican’s beach area by wristbands, ropes, and private property signs. Do not be fooled by the pictures on their website. Definitely not the beach experience we had expected. Also, No Tents Allowed. Take your own umbrella if you do not want to cook in the sun or spend a fortune renting chairs and umbrellas all week. Just be prepared to sit behind ALL the rentals and even more signs because you decided to bring your own stuff.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your experiences with the beach service company. The beach service company is one of the largest in the area and offer a variety of services and rental products for guests and owners of the resort complex. The overall reviews and satisfaction onsite with the company has been more towards the positive. We appreciate your patronage of the resort and do hope you consider a return visit in the future.

The only “resort” that completely blocks any view of the ocean with empty chairs. They have 6 rows of empty beach chairs and don’t allow anyone to set up inside or in front of the entire beach. All you can see is chair backs. Go to any other resort. The most they have is 1 row. Completely ruins the trip. I repeat...go to any other resort.

We booked our condo through the resort site. Pro’s: We have a family of 5 and rented a one bedroom condo. The condo consisted of one king, a set of bunk beds, and a pull out couch. It was a good size for our family. There were 2 bathrooms in our unit which was also good. We were on the 2nd floor of the condo and the view was nice. It was a direct view of the ocean. It came pretty equipped with all of our cooking needs.
Cons: The check in was fine. Somewhat of a wait but that’s to be expected during peak season. Wrist bands were required for all family members for the week. The unit had 10 bath towels. We reused the bath towels the second night to conserve water. There was no washer and dryer in the condo. When I called to get new towels the lady at the front desk told me you only get one set of towels for the week. I told her we did not have a washer and dryer and she said you had to use the washer and dryer located by the stairs. The dryer was out of order and when I told her that she told me to “go to a different floor.” The trash chute was located on a different floor as well. The condo was not super clean. The cups and some utensils were dirty The bed had some plastic or something stored under it. There was one pool in operation but the large pool was drained and looked like a construction zone around it. There were 4 elevators for our building. It was easier just to take the stairs. Everything could have used a fresh coat of paint.
The beach chairs are rented by another company. There are at least 5-6 rows of chairs with umbrellas so if you want a beach view you need to call as soon as you book your room.
I wouldn’t recommend staying at this resort. We all felt like it was somewhat run down. We definitely won’t be returning to this resort. I’m not one to leave a negative review but when the kids even complain you know it’s bad.

The unit we stayed in was very clean but needed some attention, the huge problem was the beach situation. If you don't reserve beach chairs weeks in advance you are probably going to end up in the 4th or 5th row, if it's available, without a view of the ocean, period. Any private set-up is behind that as long as high tide doesn't push everything else back to where there is no room for them. And don't even think of renting from neighboring property rental company's because they will not rent to anyone staying at Pelican Beach. The attendants said if we were staying at a different resort it wouldn't be a problem. Talk about cornering the market. So with approximately 150 sets of chair set ups and probably 200+ rooms your beachfront vacation might not be so beach front.

Ok, so first Pelican Beach Resort changed our room reservation without even notifying us. We were aware that rooms could be changed, but my wife had her heart dead set on a specific room, and the woman on the phone had assured her that “9/10 times you’ll get the room you reserved”. We understand that it didn’t work out, however, at least extend us the courtesy of a notification! The only way we found out was by wife checking availability as our dates got closer. Now we just showed up after a 9 1/2 hour day of driving, and we were very disappointed to hear our room wasn’t ready at 4pm when we arrived. This was in the confirmation email, but we anticipated that to be the exception, NOT the standard. We’re still without a room and it’s currently 5:06 p.m. On top of that the concierge did not even take the time to apologize for the inconvenience, simply stated the policy. I have worked in customer service before and I’m not usually the type of person to leave a review (negative or positive), but I felt that this warranted it. Just read the fine print, and expect that this resort will meet your minimum expectations when it comes to hospitality.

We're equally disappointed when changes have to be made to a guest's reservation. Sometimes due to unexpected or unusual circumstances, we are forced to do so. We apologize for any inconvenience. We're equally sorry you had to wait until after 5pm to get in your unit. During high season we try to make every effort to make all units ready by check-in time. Many people are not aware of the labor shortage many businesses face in the hospitality industry. We have a good staff who try very hard to meet our promised check-in times. Again, we're sorry we were a little late on your arrival.

We rented a private condo in the Pelican Beach Resort and it was perfect! I highly recommend this complex if you're planning a trip with the kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful, the pools are nice and very clean. We used the BBQ grills one night when we had dinner in the condo, worked out great. If you stay in the Terrace building, they will send over the golf cart to transport you to the main building for the beach. We used this service when we had a lot of stuff to take with us to the beach. Our 7 year old granddaughter loved it!! Don't let the idea of the beach being a 2 minute walk from the Terrace building be a deal breaker. Its just fine.
We loved it and we'd come back again!!!

Pros- nice clean unit, beautiful beach and pool and view of the ocean great, restaurant nice
Cons- stayed 5 nights and could smell marijuana from our balcony every night and cigarette smoke. Also saw people smoking marijuana in groups on the beach in front of our resort at night. I would love to sit on my balcony and enjoy the SMELL OF THE OCEAN NOT MARIJUANA.
