Everything was great. We had the extended queen suite and also had our pet. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Great location to get to the beach. Staff very welcoming. All was good and would definitely go again.
Having grown up in the Florida Panhandle ww avoided Destin as much as possible during the season. I like to go there in the off season the place is gorgeous and the seafood is excellent. I found this place online and got a good price under a 100 dollars on a Saturday night. The place is very well kept and clean. The staff is awesome I will definitely make this our go to place in Destin
David made the whole experience easy & affordable with great kindness. Really happy with this place. Clean, convenient and efficient. I can safely say this place is great !!!! Again, Without David, this is just another storage place but he sold me on safety, convenient and he is almost always there. Patrick ONeil Destin Fl
SummerPlace was a good value for what we paid for a five-night stay. All the staff I talked with were pleasant and helpful. The room did initially have a bit of strong smell, I think from cleaning products, but we got used to it right away. I am not a big breakfast eater, and the breakfast was fine for me, although I didn't care for the scrambled eggs. Although the pools are rather small, there is a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool, which my kids enjoyed (the heated indoor). So although it worked for my family, if you want a 4+ star hotel, this is not your place. I will say the location is nearly ideal for everything we did in Destin. There is cool go kart track/arcade/mini golf place next door (3 tracks actually, we rode on all 3), and there were two restaurants we easily walked to (we recommend the Back Porch, and it's on the beach), and we even walked to the beach from the hotel (although not carrying all the beach chairs, umbrella, etc). …
this was one of the best places to stay, Alley and her team went above and beyond for our visit there. The breakfast was always on top of it making everyone had everything they needed. Housekeeping was always available. This will always be a place that we stay when we are in Destin
This is not a rant. It's me citing a reversible deficiency that is so easily prevented that I feel I have to let it out. SUMMERPLACE is a nice place, really it is, to the extent that I can recommend it for price, cleanliness, room amenities well-kempt , walking distance to public beach access and a pretty sweet free breakfast. However…[stop the presses] we found trash on the ground at the entry, and some ugly trash bins right inside the entryway. Yuck! To boot, the same trash was still there 2 shifts later ( the next day). A note to the day and night managers: This is not the way to say "Welcome, thanks for choosing us". This is not the way to say "please stay with us the next time you come back to Destin". Why not have your front desk staff be the entry watchers? They are the closest to the door, they have eyes on it and authority to call housekeeping. What an easy solve for a preventable bad first impression. Every once in a while pull out the old rustoleum spray paint and resurface the old, ugly look of the surface of your entryway trash pails. They look like they came from a bus stop instead of receptacles belonging to a $200 a night hotel that cares. Two shifts of managers from checkin on Oct 1 to checkout Oct 2 failed to police up the entrance...what a failure of duty. Own it! Say not on my watch, be a boss, "manage"... that’s my expectation cause that's your job, right? I was thinking of how this review might come across as a rant in a time when service people are hard to find and keep…but in a climate of keeping tourism coming to Destin…someone has to care about repeat business. I review Destin often. I wasn't happy. Please fix this! Without this blotch, I would have given 5 stars! To my loyal followers, you know I tell it like it is...and you know I don't put up bashing reviews..so this is my honesty showing truth be told…
This is a budget hotel , I gave it 4 stars for being that. Check in was easy and room was available at 3pm although check in is at 4pm. Room was clean and smelled fine. There is age showing , couch is old with some wear and tear , bathroom soap dish cracked. You get 2 towels which was fine for us. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was packed each morning so we skipped. My husband did say the coffee is great. They got a cute snack area that you can purchase beer , candy or a toiletrie you might of forgot. You might want to ask for a room farther away from the fun zone next store. We were the closest room to it and you can hear it if u try. But it did close at 9 while we were there and wasn’t an issue. Overall an enjoyable experience and for the price you can’t beat it. The beach is directly across the street but u do need to drive it but it’s a very nice beach , great for sunsets. A ton of restaurants close by , the back porch restaurant has great views from every table right on the beach if u want to splurge.…
I love this place the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the location and above all the staff and their remarkable genuine professionalism and care for you as a guest. This is now my home away from home. My family, friends and business/personal acquaintances will be directed to this amazing hotel. Thank you Christine,Christie, Curtis, Laura, ALL housekeeping and employees. Everyone was so healthful and it was obvious as a guest I wasn't a bother but a pleasure to serve and now part of their hotel family. Honest hard-working individuals who are making this country proud. A Forever Guest and Friend See you guys again soon Teresa Parsons Nashville Tennessee
Stayed here Thursday, July 28, 2022, through Saturday, July 30, 2022. Hotel was clean and front desk personnel was polite. On the main drag in Destin so of course it is extremely noisy. It is also located beside "The Track" and you hear go carts and whistle blowing until late night. You could also hear doors slamming at all hours. Hotel was full and with only 1 elevator you had a long wait to get downstairs. Free breakfast was a draw, but the dining area was small, and it was hard to get a table. Limited items - eggs, sausage and you could make your own waffle and toast. We ate the first morning but skipped it the second morning. There was an indoor and outdoor pool, but both were so small it was hard to get in and swim due to the number of guests. The hot tub was luke warm at best and was nasty. If and when we return to the area, we would not stay here again.…
