Let me first say that we had stayed at the Fenway in the past visit. This time however was a totally different experience. Let me start with the check in. We got to the hotel and were told that we had to use valet parking $15 dollars a day no exception. I told the young lady at the front desk that we had stayed before and that was not the case, and that on the hotels.com website where we had booked the hotel, there was nothing regarding such a policy. She informed me that I should have read the web site better…..She proceeds to check us into room 230. I would strongly recommend if you do go to this hotel, that is not a room you want to have. First of all the carpet is badly stained, and more importantly the bar is directly above you and it is very noisy ….. My husband and I left early the next morning and did not return to the hotel till almost 6:00 pm, when we opened our door to the room, it had not been cleaned. So I called room service and told them that somehow are room had been missed. She said to me “did you request room service?” ….I told her I did not know I needed to ask to have my room cleaned…well she said ‘ you should have been told when you checked in, if you want room service for the rest of your stay I’ll note it, but there is no one here to clean your room now” ……I had to send my husband down to the main desk to at least get us towels for the next morning. At this point I must say we were very disappointed in our stay. The following day after housekeeping did our rooms, I went to take a shower and guess what there was No soap in the dispenser. So again I sent my husband to the front desk for SOAP! He then called the Marriott customer service and explain what was going on, they were very nice and told us that someone from the hotel would be in touch. It took another full day before we got a phone call from someone at the hotel, we were on our way to the hotel, so my husband said he would speak to the them in person when we arrived in 15 minutes. Well, believe it or not, the Front Desk Supervisor was the person that check us in and was so rude to us. She proceeding to tell my husband that she would explain the rules of the hotel to us….REALLY ….and then she told us a totally different story about the parking then she had told two nights before. She told us that the reasons for the $15 dollar fee was because they had been sold out the day we checked in. Her name is Shayla. (I am not sure if that is spelled correctly) …..well when we went to check out …my husband FINALLY spoke to Savanah who was the Manager and she was extremely nice and credited us for the parking fees. I would like to say that the young men that did the valet were very nice ….but other then that can not say our experience was good. My advice to TA viewers, is find a different hotel. We will not make a third visit here.

We were in town for the Blue Jays final home stand in Dunedin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fenway. It’s a wonderfully restored hotel originally built in the 1920’s. A short 10 minute walk to TD Ballpark and 15 minute walk to downtown. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the covered porch was a delightful way to start the day. The rooftop bar was fun and often hopping. The pool area is small but a nice quiet oasis. The rooms are nicely furnished but, being an older hotel, are on the small side. Also be aware that the hotel restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

We live locally in the area and have been curious about the Fenway for sometime (other friends and neighbors have been as well). I assume this might be the result of their aggressive marketing. We did a mini-staycation here over Memorial Day weekend. Bottom line: it’s an extremely clean, centrally-located property (to Main St Dunedin & Honeymoon/Caledesi Island), and the rooftop view is indeed very cool, but we probably won’t be back. There’s one restaurant located at this property, and it serves as the only food venue for the upstairs bar and room service. We were informed that meant food service stops all together at 9:00; but, in actuality that means food service stops at 8:30 on the rooftop and they won’t seat you at 8:45 at the actual restaurant downstairs. Marriott Elite members: manage your expectations accordingly, as there are no elite benefits at this property. You cannot use suite nights, no room upgrades at check-in, no member breakfast, no late checkouts, no lounge, and no offer of welcome points for Titanium Elites. I think sometimes staff at these properties forget that elite members rest their heads between 75-100 nights in a Marriott property annually, so there’s a frame of reference to what can be expected in rewarding loyalty. There’s absolutely nothing special or remarkable about this property, and you get better experiences (and loyalty rewards) from the Vinoy ab 25 minutes south.

Dear DC_Ryan, First and foremost I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your stay with us. We are beyond grateful that you chose to stay with us during the Memorial Day Weekend and I can assure you that all of your feedback has been shared with our entire team as we strive to do whatever it takes to make our guests happy. We truly value our Elite Members here as a large portion of our guests are our Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members that are utilizing their hard earned Bonvoy points as we love being the property that they can use them at for a vacation. I am truly sorry that you were not able to have the experience we have become known for and I am sure that should you come back to stay with us that we would be able to showcase to you what we are truly capable of. Again, thank you again and have a fantastic day!

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Tons of charm and feels like a world away from the city but only 30 minute drive from Tampa airport. I had a third floor suite which was quite spacious and the bathroom very large with double sinks and a walk in shower. The mini bar selection was vast by most hotel standards and not too bad pricing wise. The common area, particularly the rooftop bar, was nice. Wonderful breeze, beautiful view onto the bay, and a great place to have a cocktail or lunch. I did both! I ate at the restaurant for dinner one night and highly recommend. The food was delicious. The location is also super nice - less than a 10 minute walk to downtown Dunedin and restaurants, etc. The Pinellas biking walking travel is just behind and the Blue Jays park is 2 blocks away. I was able to drive up to Honeymoon bay and rent a kayak (5 mile drive) and used their onsite bikes another day to go up to Tarpon Springs. Tons of things to do in a laid back atmosphere. I noted some comments about the single elevator but this is an older hotel and it only has 3 floors. My room was on the 3rd floor and I only used it once to check in. The stairs were easy to use! I was also fine with the valet - I noticed when I walked by Saturday evening they had cars jammed into the back lots with the wedding, restaurant and hotel guests. There was not enough room to self park and at least for me, the valet was super helpful when I left my phone in the car. A few things to note and recommendations for the hotel: 1. The restaurant is not open all 7 days this time of year - I believe only Wednesday or Thursday through the weekend. Breakfast is also not served until 0800, although I think coffee is available in the lobby before. 2. As mentioned elsewhere, while the room was nice, the carpet was stained and either needed steamed cleaned or replaced. You can't have a top tier hotel with badly stained carpeting. The common areas looked great - this was just in the room. 3. There was no chair for the desk in the room. I realize 95% of the people aren't working while staying but I was one day and a desk chair would have been nice. 4. The landscaping could probably be enhanced a bit, particularly in the front and around the pool but that was pretty minor.

My wife and I recently completed a 4 night stay. It was my 4th visit. The staff is wonderful and the property has great rooms and great public spaces- exterior in front of the hotel with a water view and a great pool area in an interior courtyard. The town of Dunedin is a short 10 minute walk with many excellent bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Finally, the Dunedin Blue Jays ballpark is an eight minute walk! Take me out to the ballgame......
