A year ago (september 2011) my boyfriend and I went discovering Eastern Canada, we did not plan any hotels in advance. Arriving to NB we found the Lake View Inn and wanted to stay for 2 nights. In the end we stayed 4 nights as we were so much enjoying the beauty of the region but also the peacefulness of the Inn. Beautiful Inn, very clean, offering nice things to do and a very friendly welcoming. We were out of the high season so we did not had the opportunity of diner and breakfast but when we'd arrive late in the evening and we didn't had anything to eat, the owner even brought us some home made bread and cheese :-)

We found the New Horton Lake Inn on the web while looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights while exploring the Bay of Fundy. After staying for 3 nights, and having a wonderful time, I must say that the web site for the Inn (http://www.newhortonlakeinn.com/) is accurate, if not a bit modest. The place is as beautiful and as clean as the pictures show. There was lots to do on the property, and so much to explore in the area (within 30 minutes drive). The kids have already asked about going back. Alma and Fundy National Park is 20 minutes to the west. Cape Enrage is 15 minutes away, and the Hopewell Rocks are 20 minutes to the east.
We had a spacious room, with 2 queen beds and room for a single roll-away bed, with our own full bathroom. Breakfast was served in the dining room at 8:30; starting with home-made yogurt and fruit preserves, followed by fresh pancakes or waffles, with sausage on the side. Delicious, and Clyde makes sure everyone has enough. As a B&B, you are on your own for lunch and dinner, but just ask Clyde for a recommendation. There are a number of nice restaurants in Alma and Riverside-Albert, and the restaurant at Cape Enrage is quite upscale.
I am glad we stayed at there, and I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the vacation house September 2016 with close friends and our small children. The house is very spacious. The owners are friendly, informative and relaxed. The property is so beautiful. We are planning to go back very soon! I highly recommend New Horton Lake Inn for a relaxing and memorable vacation.

We traveled out to Atlantic Canada this year, and were already away when my husband just happened to check our home-phone voice mails – and boy, did we have a surprise waiting for us! It was Friday night (Aug 17th) and we were already in St. Andrews, NB. We were going to be traveling to New Horton, NB the VERY next day (Saturday the 18th), and staying at the New Horton Lake Inn for 2 nights. We had booked about 3 months prior to arrival. When we picked up our voice messages, we had one from Clyde (at New Horton Lake Inn). My husband called Clyde right away and was told that there was a “situation”; that because of the music festival happening at the Fundy National Park, he could no longer honour our reservations – he’d given our room to someone else! He gave us the names of two other places we may be able to find rooms. We were fortunate and did find another place to stay, but couldn’t believe that a place would do that to us! What if we hadn't checked our messages?! We spent a very stressful Friday night on what was supposed to be our time for R&R. Be very careful about booking at this place! You may OR MAY NOT have a room when you arrive!!

What a nice gem! We stayed 7 friends at the Vacation House in June 2016 and it was incredible. The view is really nice, the place is clean, there are horses (cannot ride them), 2 canoes, 1 kayak and one paddle boat. It was a nice getaway from home.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. If you come again ask to see the chickens, turkeys and pigs, all of whom may have babies. As well we sometimes have puppies and kittens to play and visit with.

I have stayed at New Horton Inn several times. My last stay was February 2015 - I have rebooked for November 2015. There is the main Inn - which is the large house you see in the photos and a small vacation home. I have stayed in the Inn at least once and the vacation home at least twice times. This is a location we consider when staying as a group of 8-12 people (but the inn can sleep more). This is a peaceful, quiet, clean and welcoming place. It is run by a family that lives on property and they area always available if any issues you come up. Part of the reason my group continues to choose New Horton is because of the owners. They are helpful and reasonable and friendly. There is horses, dogs, chickens and other wildlife on the property. Please consider this lovely, homelike accommodation. As for booking issues, we certainly have never had any - we always book well in advance and pay a deposit. Considering that this is a very small independent business and the certainty of having a deposit on reservation is completely reasonable and to be expected. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing place to stay.

This is our second time my friends and our families (8 adults and 4 children) enjoyed the vacation house right on the lake which is a scenic drive and short distance to the hiking trails in Fundy.
The lake, which we can see from our balcony, is very beautiful. They offer free use of their paddle boat, canoes, inner tube and several life jackets of all sizes (children to adults).
It's a very quiet and a very large property. We enjoyed just walking around the property and the kids loved watching the friendly, free range chickens.
The owners are very friendly and informative. We really had a great time and I recommend this location to anyone wanting to visit the Fundy park area or to anyone who just wants to get away with friends and/or family in a quiet location.

We booked three days before and we got a good deal compared to the fares we noticed on the website. Tho, we ended up in another house than the fancy one you see in the pictures.
Don't get me wrong, it was an ok cottage, but I doubt 500$ per night is the right price. There are a lot of beds and washrooms. While the beds in the kids room was pretty clean, in ours we had to remove everything and use ours. As well, the plates in the kitchen was dirty on the edge. Luckily we had ours. More than that, I found an intriguing odour of old. Overall, I give 7/10 for cleanliness.
A lot of room, maybe 15 people can sleep in a bed. There are several couches that can be used as beds, but I didn't found them to be comfortables.
The surrounding area is amazing. BUT the mosquitoes are a nasty plague. Man, hundreds of them attack you from any direction. We used Off! and it kind of worked out. My back received "massage" on every square millimetre. While doing BBQ, I killed dozens while drinking my beer. Those nasty creatures refused to stay outside. The killing show continued until at down. My wife can't stand the buzz of mosquitoes so I had to wake up and resume the massacre. The owner must do something about this. Afterwards, I will consider coming back.

Thanks for the review. The building pictured is our larger house. The house you stayed in is less expensive. We strive for cleanliness and are sorry you did not find the standard you expected. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen for guests convenience. As for the mosquitoes, we are located in a rural area of New Brunswick and can do nothing about them. We do have a prevailing sea breeze during the day that gets rid of them during the daytime and as long as you are inside with the doors closed by dusk you will be fine. We rarely have to use bug spray thanks to our sea breeze. We also have a local company that sprays outside the houses to control the worst of them.

Our family of five adults stayed at the vacation home located near the New Horton Lake Inn proper. We were there last week of May. It is a birder's paradise! So many different species of birds located right on the property; a lake for kayaking or canoeing; trails for walking; across the street is a marsh. Conveniently located between Hopewell Rocks and Mary's Point to the east and Cape Enrage and Fundy Nat'l Park to the west. Very nice, big, comfortable, house. Owners are very nice, too. We used house as a base to go out to see the various Bay of Fundy sights. Very rural.

We had a large group of people coming from all over NB and some from NS coming to stay at the inn recently, which we have done in the past with no issue. We were told one price by email and when we went to check in the price doubled and because we had people from way out of town we could not cancel like that. We were basically blackmailed to pay or leave which was not an option due to the fact we has so many people from all over coming for and entire weekend. Nice place but not very friendly customer service on their part. Will not be returning there ever

Unfortunately the costumer was told by email that the price was the same as last year when they had stayed with us. We do not understand how they can interpret that as doubled but it was not doubled and was indeed the same price that they had payed last year. This year they decided to stay for two nights and that may be why they were confused. As for customer service, they left in the middle of a blizzard and we had to pay overtime to have someone come and clear the road of snow to help them get out and even payed to have them pulled out when they drove their vehicle off the driveway. We did not receive a thank you for our efforts and neither did the man who pulled them out.
