What an amazing experience at this local gem, hidden in plain view in the center of Fort Lauderdale!
I recently stayed at The Dalmar & Element Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and was very pleased with the whole experience from beginning to end. They definitely get an A+ for customer service.
Upon arriving, the valet attendants were very welcoming, Jairo, the bellman, collected all of my things, and made sure they were brought securely to the room. He helped me many times during my stay, as we were having an event which required multiple trips.
Pravin was at the check-in and accommodated all our needs very graciously. The room was spacious and clean and had all the items we had requested for our event.
Harrison, Assistant Front Office Manager, made sure that we had everything we needed to transform our hotel suite into an elegant party event for our friends 50th birthday. His attention to detail and added extra effort is one of the many reasons I will return to the Dalmar & Element Hotel.
Another reason is that extra little touches. During the day they serve samples of gelato in the lobby area and even offer complementary champagne on other days as well. A very nice surprise having a sweet treat and some bubbly mid day.
I included various pictures of the lobby areas to give you a seal for the simple elegance of this hotel.

I went to breakfast in the Element breakfast room. Nice selection of items! They had a ham and cheese frittata for the egg dish. Since I don’t eat meat I asked Gusti the room attendant if they happened to have an egg without meat. She informed me that the menu changed daily and the ham and cheese frittata was the egg item they had this day. I told her no problem no worries and she was chatting with me and she said just a minute she’d go check and she went in the back and came out with two vegetarian frittatas for me, I thought that was so kind that she went out of her way to find something that I could enjoy. I watched her throughout my breakfast and noticed that she was constantly working hard to make sure the room was clean and everything was full and fresh. Gusti is a great addition to this property and a valuable asset to the Bonvoy hotels!!!

We stayed here for a few nights before a cruise in March. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to switch rooms bc the first one had damp carpet and a very strange smell, but the hotel dealt with that extremely well. I think the previous guests left the balcony door open and it wasn't reported by housekeeping. They don't over daily housekeeping which is a horrible new change Marriott has adopted to save money and hire fewer people. Bad people at the top charging more and offering less. Seriously making me question our loyalty to the brand. Overall, a good option for a couple of nights.

This is the most expensive cheap hotel I've ever stayed in. I booked a 1-bedroom suite at over $300 per night at this property because we need sound separation for a family of four. We checked in and the floor in the living area and the bathroom had stuff all over it that we could feel on our feet and our feet were dirty. The room was re-cleaned. However, there was no door over the opening between the living room and the bedroom as the pictures for the room on the hotel website showed. Therefore, I had to rent another "discounted" regular hotel room for the price of an additional $199 per night (including the $25 per night destination fee) to get the sound separation we should have had. I should have been given two regular hotel rooms for the price of what I paid for the suite given the deception on the website. I would never have rented at this property if there was no sound separation in the room. The flooring in these rooms is extremely cheap. The carpet is cheap and very thin and uncomfortable. The hard flooring is so cheap that it is coming up and separating from the sub floor so that in places where you step, there is air between the flooring and the sub floor. It is the same in both rooms on different floors so it is a property issue, not a room issue. The food in the 6th floor lounge was good but service was not. The outdoor pool is very small but nice. The beds were comfortable. The suite is the weirdest layout and waste of space for a hotel room. There is no storage in the bedroom for clothing, just a bed and side tables and TV. It feels like the room was undone. There were holes in the furniture and bedding. In our regular hotel room, a previously-used bar of soap was left in the room from a previous guest. Also in that room, one half of the mirror lighting in the bathroom was inoperable and the toilet paper holder would not stay latched. All of those items would have been obvious to housekeeping during their cleanings. Do not pay the price this hotel charges for this property - it is not a good value for your money. You can stay at the beach for the same price.

Woke up to discover a bloodstain on my sheet. Housekeeping changed all of the bedding and provided “fresh” towels, one of which I used right away. As I hung the towel to dry, I noticed what looked to be a mascara stain on the towel and I do not wear makeup. The toilet paper holder was broken so every time we used the bathroom, the TP would fall off. Tried to make tea in the room but the mini Kurig didn’t even work. Nice people work there but it is not a clean hotel!

We arrived late because our flight was delayed so we did only stayed for a few hours. When I got home, we got slapped with a $28 resort fee - RESORT FEE? It was explained to. me that this was for a welcome drink, gelato, and beach chairs - which we never received but we were still charged for. When I called, the hotel receptionist said "If you don't use it, you lose it." HA!
The bed was the most uncomfortable for a hotel I've stayed in, including the pillows - not comfy at all.
Ultimately, they act like a resort but for the price there are wayyyy better options in Ft. Lauderdale!! Stay somewhere else.
The only good thing I remember is the breakfast, but now that I had that resort fee added, I don't even feel so good about that!

The hotel is shared by the Delmar and Element in a single property making it a bit confusing when checking in as the two are on different floors.
Check in was easy and was placed into the room booked - City view king suite (no ambassador upgrades which is understandable. The room itself was a little odd as it feels like it’s missing furnishings. The size is nice with large bedroom and combined kitchenette and living area but the living room was missing a coffee table and the bedroom had no dressers as the closet/dressers were in the living room. There is a wall and opening separating the bedroom and living room but no door so makes it difficult if multiple people and can’t separate noise. The bathroom has a sliding door that doesn’t really cover both sides at the same time- also making for an awkward experience if multiple people are staying.
Common areas were nice with a lively roof deck busy on weekend nights and locked one elevator out to shuttle people from the ground floor up. The elevators were touch controlled by floor and secured with the card - nice for security, but challenging for many who didn’t understand the system and further elevators were slow to arrive. Others mentioned the breakfast with is non existent yet and the coffee bar downstairs is not a good substitute,
Lastly room service was not done every day and a chat sent to the desk via the Marriott app went unanswered leaving the room not cleaned. When I tried calling the phone just rang with no answer. Parking was 32.00 (not waived for ambassador) and I needed to ask for a night not used for parking to be removed after validating with the Valet the night prior that there would not be a charge as it wasn’t used the last night.
Good location, but some opening challenges that need to be worked out.

Great location for Las Olas (10 min walk at most), rooms have a small kitchenette which is handy if required. This hotel claimed to be eco friendly but in order to have hot water we had to run the shower for at least 15 minutes. We reported this 3 times and eventually we gave up with the hotel and contacted booking.com who kindly assisted us by asking the hotel to upgrade us to a suite. This itself took 2 phone calls for 2 different booking.com agents, as the first request was not met and even the second attempt took forever as nobody answered the phone. The hot water was slightly better once moved but not much. Housekeeping only come once a week. They claimed this was due to Covid but we were not told about this upon check in. When we asked about having our room serviced the staff were very disgruntled and said it was only every 3 days but we could ask for house keeping for specific days if required. Not only did the story change from 7 to 3 days but when we did ask it wasn't done, unless you called and asked twice at least. Staff are unfriendly and sigh not only on the phone (that is if they even answer the phone) but in person! Completely disinterested, unhelpful and rude. Without a doubt, the worst customer service we have ever experienced in any hotel ever. The bar area is lovely but both times we went down for a drink there were no staff so we went elsewhere.
Do not stay at this place - this is not what you would expect from the Marriot chain - extremely disappointing.

I had a three-night stay at The Element in late Feb/Early March. I had previously stayed at the Dalmar in November 2022 and was unimpressed so I thought I would try The Element this time. Still not impressed. I guess I need to avoid this property altogether. This double-branding at a single property doesn't work. Two front desks. Two breakfast restaurants. Confusing policy on where Bonvoy elites (Ambassador here) can have a complimentary breakfast. Dalmar says you must eat breakfast at the Element yet the Element says you can have the complementary breakfast at the Element or the Dalmar. Completely non-sensical. Breakfast at the Element is poor. It reminded me of a Fairfield Suites breakfast. I had it one time and then went to the Jewish Deli (The Top Hat is excellent) down the street for the other two mornings.
This property needs to pick one single brand and adjust things accordingly. There is no way this is a five star property. Personally, I feel it could be a Marriott or Sheraton and play that role well.
Get your act together Dalmar/Element.

The rooms were filthy dirty for a Marriot Hotel. The breakfast was cold and I needed a jack hammer to get through the sausages and bacon, scrambled egg was cold and tasteless. I phoned down twice for a pink card so we could check out the restaurants at hotel, they said they would bring it right away, to no avail they did not come and the receptionist was rude by slamming the phone down on me. For a Marriot hotel, it should have been top notch. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
