The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel offers a mixed bag to guests, according to reviews. While its location near the cruise port and airport receives high marks for convenience, opinions on the hotel's amenities and rooms vary, with some visitors praising the modern touches and others pointing out dated aspects and cleanliness issues.
The hotel's atmosphere is generally appreciated for its lively and welcoming vibe. Nonetheless, concerns about value and inconsistent service suggest that experiences can differ widely, with some guests feeling the hotel does not justify the expense.

Detailed Reviews
We were not guests at the hotel, but we were invited to meet friends who had spent the night therefor brunch on Sunday morning. While transient hotels are not known for excellent food, our experience was disappointing. It was clear that since most of the guests had coupons for the buffet, the number of servers was limited so that service was slow and almost nonexistent. After we were seated, we had to find a manager in order to arrange for coffee service, juice and after several requests, water. There was no sweetener on the table for the coffee service when it eventually arrived. We also had to find a manager in order to request menus, because two of us chose to order à la carte rather than spend $22 for the breakfast buffet. The egg white omelette was supposed to contain feta cheese, and there was only enough for one bite. The abundant hash brown potatoes were overcooked and served cold. Our friends who had the coupons for the buffet were satisfied with the offerings, but it certainly was not worth $22. The servers were friendly, but they were clearly overworked being assigned too many tables at one time.

We stayed here 2 nights prior to our cruise and it was great. We had a large corner room overlooking the cruise port and had the concierge lounge on our floor for complimentary breakfast, appetizers and desserts for our Bonvoy Elite Status. There is a large bar in the lobby and a restaurant downstairs. This hotel is close to restaurants and there is a shuttle to the port for a small fee. You can make reservations for the shuttle time you prefer. The only downside to our stay was that the lighting in the guest rooms was very poor. We wish Marriott would take notice.

We stayed here prior to our Celebrity New Year's Cruise and it was great for our needs. The hotel is close to the cruise port and provides transportation to the port for a small per person fee. Well worth the cost. Staff was helpful and elite lounge was very helpful for tired travelers. The hotel is very close to restaurants and more importantly, a Walgreens for those things you may have left at home or did not want to travel by air with, but wanted to take on the cruise.

Slightly tired Hotel but top location. Room musty but very clean. Bell boys excellent, took luggage to the room, booked our shuttle bus USD 7 each to cruise terminal and gave us a voucher for 4 free cocktails at the The Boat House restaurant which was outstanding (Best Fillet steak in YEARS). Would stay at this hotel again. Staff nice and friendly.

I am here for work for just one night. I had to be up at 330. The coffee maker in my room did not work. When I went down to the fri t desk to ask where I could get coffee since the coffee maker did not work O was told “there is no coffee unless in your room.” I explained that the maker in my room was broken and the gentleman at the front t fest at 430 on Saturday the 7th said “I can’t get you coffee!”
Really 4am and no coffee!?!???

If you’re looking for a really nice hotel with great proximity to the Port Everglades Cruise Port, this is a great option. Quite comfortable and upscale room, short ride from FLL, walking distance to a variety of nearby restaurants, and a VERY short ride to the Port (you can practically see the Port entrance from the hotel). They offer a transfer service to the Port, but UBER or Lyft are less.

Seven night stay planned as a laid back vacation. In our late 60’s, We called prior to booking to be sure that the pool was heated (stated it’s heated on their website). Was assured “pool is heated”. Checked in and went to see the pool. Freezing cold. Absolutely no way a person would get into it to swim. Asked front desk why they advertise that the pool is heated when clearly it’s not and was told “we’ll turn it up now”. Next day, no heated pool. This time we were informed “heater broken We watched young children excited to get to in the pool, quickly get out very let down. The bed was so hard we had to purchase a gel foam topper so we could sleep. With the exception of one, the front desk were dismissive and rude. Seventh floor ice machine was broken and not repaired for the entire 7 days. One night we needed a new bag for our ice bucket and asked the house keeper working outside our room and was curtly told she didn’t have a bag. Had to go down to the front desk for one and was told “someone will bring it up”. Nope, never saw the ice bag. Had to use a walmart bag and walk up to the eighth floor for ice. The ONLY bright spot was Absolute...our housekeeper. She was great. This hotel is not for families, or anyone wanting to stay leisure. As with Covid issues, there was no coffee except from 6am to 9am. We had to walk down a block for coffee every morning if we slept in beyond 9am. Sadly, even though I researched hotels prior to our stay, this hotel was a great disappointment.

We stayed using Marriott Points as the nightly rate was very high - as are ALL hotels close tot he Port Everglades Cruise Port. The Renaissance is a really nice hotel, much better than many of the others. Downside is that there is not a shuttle from the airport. Taxi was $20 but since we had a free room it was not a big deal. We had the breakfast buffet which was included with Marriott benefits. The shuttle to the port was $6 per person. The best thing about the hotel is that it’s across the street from a Walgreens which made it perfect for buying wine, sun screen, and other stuff for the cruise. Plus, the BOATYARD restaurant is next door.

Visited last week for some much needed rest and relaxation. That is exactly what I experienced upon arrival. The customer service was excellent from Cree and her entire staff! The property was clean and the pool was excellent. The location is great for travelers who do not rent a car ( beach access, shopping, dining, and airport). I have decided this property will be hideaway and great for solo travelers. I was impressed with the cleanness of the pool and availability of towels and cocktails from the bar/restaurant after 5pm. Every single request was made in a timely manner and most professional tone. Happy with Hospitality at this property!

We have stayed several times at this hotel before a cruise. Did a pre check in the day before & when we arrived we’re told that it would be awhile before the room was ready, so we had lunch (there are many restaurants in the area). When we returned I checked again & Geraldine Seide said she had a room ready for us. Great service with a smile. Room was large with 2 queen beds which were really comfortable. Bathroom good with lots of towels. There is a Walgreen’s across the street & a Winn Dixie supermarket walkable distance to get treats for the room. Housekeeping had our room done early & efficiently. Love the pool area. Shuttle to cruise port is $6 per person. Will definitely stay again.

I’m sorry I was there as a guest and found the place terrific but I do not know about the lounge.
Hokenson is right.
I don't know about the Broward Mall or what you might be looking to purchase . There is a shopping center a short walk from the Renaissance on the right and another further up on the left. Both walking distance.
Sorry, I don't know as we didn't see a menu. Call the hotel.
