Without being advised that they are under construction we checked into this hotel after a cruise. We had stayed there previously and liked it so rebooked this year by phone. The agent who took the reservation did not disclose that it is basically a construction site at the moment. Be forewarned. There is no front entry and no back entry to the beach which we found very convenient last year. There is no pool or a deck to sit around. There is no place to sit besides their lobby which has been cut in half due to the construction out front. To their benefit we did find the staff to be good and somewhat helpful. The room we had, a junior suite on an upper floor with a view of the beach, was large and great. Very similar to the one we had last year though we were told we were in a renovated room, it was the same as last year's room. The breakfast we had was outrageously expensive. a cup of tea, a cup of coffee, one scone and one prewrapped piece of pound cake coming to $28.00. Probably could have gone for a full breakfast for not much more. They charge guests $52.00 a night to park overnight. What they have going for them is the location. Once the renovations are done which we were told would be next March we are sure it will be beautiful with a price to match. The price this year should have been discounted for the lack of facility or at least include the minimal breakfast offerings in the room price.

rhondapH5337RD, thank you for your feedback. It’s clear you’re a returning guest, and your insights are greatly valued. The construction you experienced is part of ongoing improvements, and it is unfortunate this was not communicated beforehand. It's great to hear that our team members made a positive impression and that you enjoyed the junior suite and its views. Your comments about breakfast pricing and parking will be taken into consideration. We are grateful for your patience and understanding during this transitional period and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back once improvements are complete.

I will start with the positive…the location is central to beach, restaurants and beach shopping. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The rooms ( we had three) were clean. One room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke.
Unfortunately…the hotel is under renovation and needs it. This is not the quality of “ Courtyard Marriott” that we have stayed in the past. Don’t look at old photos on this site to judge whether you will stay here…you will be disappointed.
We got a letter in the room stating that we may hear the renovation work on the upper floors…and we did.
At check-in I asked if we could have 3 rooms together. I was told that they would work it out and that we would be upgraded to “ ocean view” rooms on the third floor. We were very excited…until we opened the curtains to reveal our “ ocean view.” 😳
I am grateful that we were at the beach for a family gathering. I just want others to be aware before they book.

Sherry, thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear you appreciated the central location and found our team members accommodating. Your comments about the cleanliness are valued as well. Regarding your concerns, the hotel will undergo a complete renovation starting April 2024, which will address the issues you mentioned. The age and quality of the property are being updated to meet guests' expectations. We apologize for any inconvenience with room proximity and the view, and will ensure better communication moving forward. We're glad you enjoyed your family gathering by the beach and appreciate your understanding during this period.

We stayed here recently for a family long weekend. I contacted the hotel twice before arriving asking for early check in and the lowest floor possible. Arrived at 11am and told I will be called when room was ready. 2 hours later we went back on the off chance room was ready and it was, on the top floor. Reluctantly we went up and the room was a sauna, the bathroom had a horrible smell, the safe did not work and the lock on the room to the door was not working properly. After 2 hours and 2 maintenance visits we asked to move rooms and were moved to the second floor. The safe in this room was also not working and the water was pouring out the bathtub spout and could not be shut off. We asked to be moved again. Now we are in 317, obstructed views of the beach and inter coastal waters but a bit larger so we overlooked the tiredness of the room. There was a note in the room giving details of the renovation plans (urgently needed).
The pool area is awful. The pool bar is absolutely disgusting, the tile is all uneven and a trip hazard. The pictures on the website of the pool area are clearly not recent.
Easy access to the beach, restaurants and shops.
Basic Starbucks open for breakfast (limited menu) only.
Staff were for the most part friendly and addressed our concerns re the room issues.
After checking out at 5:30 am I received my email bill which included 2 restaurant charges we did not make. Two attempts to contact the hotel to get these removed have been met with silence which is quite disappointing.
I would definitely not recommend staying here until the renovations are completed.

427kirstyc, first, your input is greatly appreciated. We regret to hear your visit was affected by various room issues, from the initial check-in experience to the conditions of each room you were moved to. We apologize for the discomfort these situations may have caused. We also acknowledge your concerns regarding our pool area and rest assured, its renovation is part of our upcoming update plan. In light of the feedback about the charges, we urge you to continue reaching out to resolve this matter swiftly. It's disappointing to hear about the communication difficulties you had following your stay and we apologize for any dismay this caused. We agree that areas of our hotel are in need of an update, and we're pleased to share that a full hotel renovation is planned for May 2024, which includes the pool area. This transformation will significantly enhance our guest experience, and we hope you consider revisiting us after completion to assess these improvements yourself. Despite your recent experience, we assure you that our team members strive towards providing warm service, which you seem to appreciate. Thank you for pointing out our easy access to the beach, restaurants and shops, along with our Starbucks offering. These are indeed features that many guests enjoy. Once again, thank you for your review.

Where do I start to hopefully get you to never stay at this location? I'll start off with the good. The location is close to a bunch of restaurants and bars and also a quick Uber right away to even more. Now to the actual hotel, we ended up going during spring break so we expected exactly what we got. Many young breakers but I will say they were pretty quiet (at least around our room).

I appreciate that because our neighbors weren't even loud but the walls were so thin it felt like we were all in the room together. Again we got lucky because after a certain time, they were either out or fairly quiet. The cleaning crew comes every couple of days and it shows. Some of our wash clothes looked dated, worn, and stained, but the real kicker was the bed sheets. We went to get under the sheets and there was what looked like grease and BLOOD STAINS. The darker blood stains were on the duvet and sheets. At almost 11 pm having to call the front desk and work with the cleaner to get not just the sheets but everything changed because it was obvious the sheets weren't fresh and just tucked back in after the last guest and it set the tone.

We honestly tried to stay away as much as possible as the room is already outdated and I'm pretty sure the couch was missing pillows, the remotes needed new batteries and the entire room needs a deep scrub.

There are way too many hotels and probably motels nearby that aren't that much more expensive and are probably worth the actual money you'll spend. Don't waste your time here.

We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and understand that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We do strive for cleanliness and comfort in all our rooms, so it's disappointing to know that you found that lacking. Once again, we apologize for the discomfort you experienced due to thin walls and the condition of the linen, as well as the shortcomings in room maintenance. It's important to note, in response to your concerns over the room's appearance, that we are undergoing a complete hotel renovation from April 2024 to improve and address all these issues. While we understand your hesitation, we hope that after the renovation, you might consider giving us another opportunity to provide the high quality stay you deserve and expect. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve.

After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried that we would be staying at a low budget and run down beach hotel but I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival.

The decor is indeed a little dated but the room was clean and we barely spent much time in the room, but to sleep and get ready to go back out to enjoy the pool, beach and exploring.

I noticed that there was also always someone cleaning and/or wiping down door handles and common areas. I could tell that our room was cleaned while we were away because our beds were made when we returned and the trash was taken out. Clean towels were provided when asked. Front desk staff was very kind and helpful whenever I asked questions.

I recommend getting a room with an ocean view if you can. Our view from the 2nd floor was so nice and overlooked the pool and ocean. The proximity to everything was so convenient. The 711 is just across the street and CVS just a short 4-6 min walk. There is shopping and restaurants along the strip and more shopping just a short trolley or shuttle ride away. There is also a bar at the pool that serves great food and drinks.

Kid review: My six year old did have one complaint…she felt like the toilet paper in the room was too far away from the toilet. She says it needs to be closer so that a child can reach it. (She cracks me up). Other than that she says the hotel room was beautiful, the pool was awesome and she’d love to stay again!

My family would definitely recommend this hotel!

I was coming down to the area for a weekend visit for a family celebration and booked two rooms- a king with a water view connected or next to to a double queen. I specifically stated when I called to reserve (didn’t book online because the connecting rooms or having them next to one another were important since putting 2 teens in the other room and we needed to get ready for a formal party). Of course when we arrived they didn’t have the rooms we booked and put my kids on a totally different floor. With our clothes all packed in the same luggage we now had to carry stuff up and down and back and forth, which led to the loss of a $600 blazer that must’ve gotten dropped while I was carrying formal wear through the hallway and up to the room with the luggage. I have now attempted to call this hotel a dozen times to see if it’s been found by housekeeping or security but it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone. I finally got a front desk manager yesterday who took my number and said she would call me back in 30 min after she looked into it…. I’m still waiting for that return call. And frustrated because this is an expensive article of clothing that was lost at the hotel and this wouldn’t have happened if we had been given the rooms the way we booked them. And since it did happen, it shouldn’t be so hard to get a human on the phone to help determine if it’s been located.

The location of the hotel across from the beach is fine enough. No chairs available on the beach for the hotel which defeats the purpose of booking the hotel for the location. When we checked in and asked about beach chairs they said that we could find someone’s discarded chairs there. Wow.

The breakfast bistro was meh. I ordered s breakfast bowl one morning for over $20 and asked for the potatoes in it. Got rice instead. Eggs over easy were over cooked. No food served there after 11 which was annoying.

Overall it’s a basic low end hotel across from the beach that doesn’t feel like a Bonvoy at all. And the lack of communication from the front desk has been frustrating.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, Mindarella24. I do apologize that there was lack of communication during your booking and that it was not conveyed clearly that we unfortunately do not have rooms with two beds that connect to rooms with one bed. We currently only have either King Jr. Suites that connect with other King Jr. Suites, or rooms with 2 queen beds that connect with other rooms with 2 queen beds. In regards to our beach amenities, the hotel does not charge a resort fee as of present so that we may leave the decision to purchase chairs solely up to the guest. Hotels around the area that do charge a resort fee have chairs included, but we have decided that our guests should be able to decide for themselves if they want those amenities, instead of charging for them regardless. I also do apologize that there was an error with your breakfast in the Bistro. We would have been happy to remake it for you while you were here. We do serve lunch items at the pool bar until 2 PM and Bubba Gump’s is on the ocean side of the hotel, and is open for lunch and dinner. We're also extremely disappointed to hear about your misplaced item and that we couldn't assist you during your stay. We do have a website for inquiries regarding lost and found items and we kindly ask that you visit www.ileftmystuff.com in order to further assist you. We do hope you give us the opportunity to share a more positive experience with you the next time you're in town.

Great location across the road from the beach. The hotel pool is being refurbished but they provide free sun beds on the beach directly opposite the hotel, umbrellas cost $30 per day to hire. Within short walk of plenty of bars and restaurants. We were upgraded to a junior suite on floor 7, which was very nice and spacious with a nice lounge area and a side sea view. We found the valet parking (no self parking available) extremely expensive at $52 plus tax per night, but perhaps that’s normal in this area. Rooms and hotel nice and clean and can’t fault it. We would happily recommend the hotel.

Property is in a good location and staff were very nice but otherwise this hotel was a disaster. The pool and other outdoor areas are closed for renovations, which didn’t really impact us but would be a big problem if you planned to stay more than one night.

Unlike other Courtyard hotels I’ve stayed in the Bistro only serves food at breakfast and for three hours in the evening and closes very early for cocktails. The market also was very poorly stocked especially given the limited Bistro service.

Moving on to the room things get much worse. The room is run down and the carpet is filthy. Then there are just weird things like the hot and cold faucets in the bathroom being backwards and the tv in the bedroom shutting off every hour.

Worst of all, at check-in we were told that some rooms were having a/c problems and might not cool below 70 or so. They didn’t seem to have a clear picture of what rooms were impacted and what rooms weren’t. There was a list of supposedly good rooms and we were assigned one of those but it was very warm when we arrived and uncomfortable for most of the night. As morning approached, however, it got increasingly warm and it’s currently 81 degrees in the room. Most of the common areas were cool last night and we were planning to spend some time there before checking out but now it’s hot down there too.

I would have tried to get a different room if it seemed as if they would be able to locate one with working a/c. Based on our experience at check in, however, that was clearly going to be a crapshoot and likely would have meant cycling through multiple rooms that may or may not have been any better.

Stayed here because colleague from out of town wanted to stay at the beach. There are so many other choices, but we're both Marriott loyalty branded so we stayed here. My stay April 22 - 24 2024
Besides being run down and just plain tired, I had several issues with my room that were never resolved, or even addressed by the management team. I asked for a conversation with them, left my cell number so I could be easily reached, and even called and left a message that has not been returned even after 10 business days since my stay .
Here were my issues:
* Toilet that made disturbing noises, and splashed all over itself so it had to be dried before each use...DISGUSTING & it prevented me from getting a good night rest
* Outlet in bathroom that tripped every time it was used
* No USB ports for charging devices
* very few conveniently accessible electrical outlets
* Internet connection did not work consistently during my stay - had to leave room to get connection in run-down common area
* Front desk team member I relayed my concerns to did nothing to help me with resolution
Bottom line...outdated, poorly equipped with a team that knows you're a tourist and doesn't care about your experience. Find somewhere else that is cleaner, newer, and has a better team to help you with your stay.

Spent 3 days here with daughter and granddaughter in an oceanfron room. The room was nice, hotel was modern and clean. We didn't know until 3 days prior to arrival that the pool area would be closed. Feel we should have gotten some compensation (we got free beach chairs). Wow. Beach umbrellas were $30 per day. We did not get one.

My main complaint was the exhorbitant pricing. We were charged $52 per day for valet parking (an outrage when already spending $273/night + approx. $40/night in taxes). On top of that, when we texted to have our rental car brought up to the front, we were asked if we wanted to add a $7.00 tip to the already $52/night charge!

Went to the Bistro the first morning for breakfast and the bill was $48 for 2 fruit cups and 1 breakfast sandwich. My total bill for 3 nights was $1159, or $386/night. Nice being on the beach, but not worth the price. Not everyone has money.
