Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port & Convention Center enjoys a prime location that guests highly value for its proximity to the cruise port and local attractions. While the hotel's shuttle service and breakfast offerings receive positive mentions, some guests feel these amenities, along with the hotel itself, could benefit from modernization and a less crowded breakfast area.
Although the service is often described as friendly, there are mixed reviews about room cleanliness and decor, with several guests suggesting a need for refurbishment to match the expectations set by the room rates.

Detailed Reviews
My quick stay provided exactly what I expect from a Hyatt Place - a large, clean, comfortable room with a convenient location, all at a quite reasonable price.
For this stay, I used the Hyatt app to check in and check out, also utilizing the digital key feature. All worked well and made things a breeze. The front desk staff, although I didn't use their services, provided a friendly greeting the times I passed them by. Upon walking into the hotel, I instantly remembered the lobby scent (which I love) from other Hyatt Place stays elsewhere.
The room itself was large & spacious, and while a bit dated/bland with some noticeable wear and tear, it wasn't anything that seriously detracted from my enjoyment. The bathroom, which could actually benefit from a bit more space to maneuver, did its job. Actually, the water pressure in the shower was probably the best I've experienced anywhere. The shower products are pleasant. I read in another review that a refresh of the rooms might be happening soon, which will only elevate the experience. I didn't experience any noise either during my stay.
Breakfast was sufficient, easy and appreciated. I was able to safely walk to a Mexican restaurant for dinner, which is just one of the choices available within easy walking distance. It won't take you long to get to/from the airport or cruise port as well.
All in all, my brief stay was pleasurable and I would happily stay here again.

I picked this hotel because it was close to the cruise port and the rooms at Hyatt Place are so much bigger than most hotel rooms, but NOT more money! We arrived in late afternoon, checked in and signed up for the cruise shuttle for the next morning ($9.00 each person), ate dinner at the hotel restaurant, we spent the night in a lovely room, had a great complimentary breakfast the next morning, brought our luggage down and the shuttle company loaded our luggage into a comfortable shuttle bus, and then a brief drive to the Port, where the shuttle drive unloaded our luggage and gave me a card to call them when we got back from our cruise. A cruise porter took over from there. Such a great hotel and services offered.

I just wanted to write this as soon as so could. I traveled from Massachusetts yesterday and with delays and travel transportation issues left at 11am and didn’t get to the hotel until close to 10pm. I was tired hungry sweaty and felt gross.
Tina greeted me at the front desk and was the highlight of my day. She worked to get me a nice room let me know the kitchen closed soon and let me put an order in for dinner made great recommendations and told me to go to my room relax and she would call when the food was prepared.
It gave me a few minutes to settle into my room and wash up a little. She called a few minutes later and as requested had my dinner packed up to take to my room.
The room is clean neat and tidy. The temperature control worked very well
This am I went down for breakfast. Another pleasant surprise. Big selection fresh clean hot items hot cold items cold. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and kind. He answered my questions about a number of ways to get to the cruise port
I am very happy with my experience and thank the people here at Hyatt Place for making this a very nice stay.

The location is convenient to FLL airport and the cruise terminal. It is also within walking distance to a grocery store and some restaurants and bars. Las Olas beach is about a 10 minute drive and also convenient.
The rooms are pretty outdated and the shower tub/toilet room is about as tiny as humanly possible. If you are large, elderly or have mobility problems, you will have difficulty using the restroom. The halogen light also does not light up the area well at all so you are showering in dim light. The only good thing about the bathroom is that the water pressure is intense. I also do not care for the communal soap and shampoo in those locked up cannisters no matter how green it is to not have individual hygiene bottles.
The living room is huge for some reason. Amble space for a small gathering even though space would have been better utilized for the bed area or bathroom. The bed is surprisingly above average for comfort.
The staff is decent enough, but the breakfast is very poor at Hyatt Places. The quality has surely declined over the past few years. It used to be at least adequate to eat, but now the food is so subpar, I cannot get value out of the "free" breakfast when I am forced to eat elsewhere. The elevators are also super slow so I ended up taking the stairs from the 4th floor half the time.
Overall, if you are just using it as a pit stop for your real vacation for a night, then it will check the box. Any longer and I would seek alternate locations.

Thanks for your review, K0vi! We appreciate you giving us a try and appreciate the feedback. I would love to hear specifically what you felt was lacking with our breakfast offerings, as this is certainly an anomaly for us to hear. We offer a wide variety of breakfast items from eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, an assortment of breads, cereals, juices, etc...and we typically are given high praises for our breakfast. We are disappointed that it missed the mark for you. As for our room layout, we are a conversion property and until we receive a room renovation (very soon!), we won't be able to make structural changes to our building. We hope you give us another opportunity to regain your confidence in the future. Be well!

Hotel is average. We stay here before a cruise as we like the Publix within walking distance and several restaurants. Hotel is looking shabby and needs redoing but rooms are clean. The pool and free breakfast are nice. Also, like the transportation to port(fee). We have stayed here about 4 times. What we don’t like is the price gouging! We usually pay about $170 a night. When there is an event they raise price significantly. In October, Taylor Swift is in MIAMI and their prices are averaging $375 - 450 a night, which is way more than this place is worth. We are staying at a popular hotel that does not gouge their customers in October.

Hi B0nnieJH and thank you for your review! We appreciate your repeat business but are terribly sorry to hear that you feel our hotel price gauges. Our business, just like any other business, prices itself based on supply and demand and we are always in-line with our nearby competitors. Seasonality, special events, or city-wide events will always dictate the direction we go with our hotel's pricing. We do hope you give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

Stayed here one night before boarding a cruise. The staff were kind and helpful. The rooms were the size and comfort that I expect from this brand. The room was clean. The exhaust fan was so loud that if turned on at night it would wake anyone asleep. The shower took over 5 minutes to warm up each time we used it. Breakfast was nice but the eating area is crowded and not laid out well. There are restaurants and a drugstore within walking distance. We were able to schedule a reasonably priced shuttle to our cruise ship. This is a loud area being near the port. The cost for one night was very high for what it is.

Let's be honest... I had low expectations of this place to begin with, and rightly so. But it wasn't all bad.
Pros: The front desk employees are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included. Great location near the cruise port. The rooms are spacious. The shuttle to the cruise port was very efficient, and even though it cost more than a Lyft, my family felt like it was worth the price because of the reliability and ease.
Cons: The rooms are pretty run down and smelly. The air conditioner dripped so much water on the floor that the carpet was SOAKED. There is no way to get ready for bed while someone else is trying to go to sleep because the bright vanity light is right by the beds with no door to close it off. Breakfast food was not terrible but there are not enough places to sit.
We were glad we only had to stay here for one night.

Conveniently located near the cruise port for Princess. Uber rides from the port for our group ranged from $9 to $15 depending on time and demand. They were super helpful about letting us check in early for one of our three rooms so we had a place to store luggage and hang out until the other rooms are ready. I like that there is a strip mall a block and a half away that had Ross, a luggage store, on a couple great restaurants that we tried: Kelly's Landing for seafood and Laspada's which were exceptionally good hoagies. Our flight wasn't until late the next day so we enjoyed hanging out in the outdoor seating and chatting with other guests about cruises since pretty much everybody here is coming from or going to a cruise. They had a fabulous giant room to store luggage in. Staff was very friendly and super helpful! The rooms were incredibly spacious even if the bathrooms were slightly dated. I would definitely stay there again especially before or after a cruise.

First off, let me say that I am a long time Hyatt member and I try to stay at Hyatt properties whenever and wherever I travel. In this regard, I have stayed at multiple Hyatt properties in both the USA and Canada. I like to book these, as I can then generally know what to expect in advance.
Not so this time. This property in Fort Lauderdale was a very big disappointment and most certainly not at the level of quality expected for a Hyatt property. My wife didn't even want to stay when we first walked into the lobby. Simply put, the hotel is old and worn out. Our room was on the first floor across from the laundry (even though I am pretty sure that I had asked for an upper floor). This was a noisy location with doors slamming well into the evening. The room itself looked worn and tired. The hide-a-bed sofa (where my son was to sleep) was old, worn out, ratty and the cushions soiled from many, many years of use. The AC unit rattled. The bathroom lock did not work, the toilet seat would not stay up, the blind on the window would not close, the wall paper had a large slash in it - well you get the picture. I am not sure how this ended up in the Hyatt portfolio, when it had the appearance of an older Quality Inn. For over $500 USD a night, I expected better.
I gave two out five only because the front desk and the staff generally were pretty good for the one night we stayed. We did not complain about the above because we figured we were one and done anyway and by the time we got there it was late and we were tired and hungry.

Thank you for your honest feedback, Spaman. We genuinely want to hear what our guests have to say and share your sentiments. I am happy to hear that our service was what you have come to expect, but apologize that you did not have a positive guest room experience. Our location endures heavy foot traffic and high occupancy most of the year due to our prime location and we certainly try our best to keep the rooms in the best condition possible. We are slated for a full renovation and can't wait for you to try us again once that is completed. Be well and thank you for choosing Hyatt!

The hotel has ample parking, but note that within 5 mins. safe walking distance are the Harbordale shops which includes Publix, a wine store, restaurants and massage & nail salons. The staff were superb in handling the influx of visitors from the Gulf Coast escaping Hurricane Ian and were friendly & helpful. The large clean rooms with mini fridge & wet bar + large TV with movie options made it very comfortable during the 4 days spent on this visit. The freshly cooked breakfast and evening bar options were very welcome. This is a firm favorite for my business trips and family visits.

Yes it is. Call the hotel for rates.
Haven't gotten an answer here but did find out that by the time we stay there, the shuttle is no longer associated with the hotel so the price will be much higher. Not very nice of them to do this with no warning. Might have picked a better place to stay.
No, take a shuttle/uber.
Sorry for the delayed response. Both of the answers below are correct. We do offer an airport shuttle which costs $5 per room (not per person) and this gets billed to your room. Once you have collected your bags, please call the shuttle company at 954-655-1376.
Unfortunately, the cruise port shuttle fee has increased to $9 per person, you may sign up for it at check in. This gets paid to the driver directly via cash or credit card.
