I am not an Aloft fan and generally avoid them. They are too industrial and minimalistic for me. I don't care for the layout where the sink is right next to the door. Breakfast options are minimal and unappealing although at least some food/snacks are available. That said, this new Aloft was far better than most and my stay was enjoyable. The furnishings were newish and all was in working order. An extremely affordable option at prices that were again well below most major campus areas. Located on the edge of the sprawling UF campus do not assume all things UF are within walking distance. On the flip side, parking is free which is often a rarity on large campus like this. Bed was comfortable. In room ac unit worked well and could be set to be relatively quiet. The whole hotel was quiet. Workout room was standard Aloft and very complete. Available 24/7 with free weights, a few machines, treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. Overall this hotel presented an outstanding value.

Location is 6-8 minutes off I 75 and behind a town center area with many shops and restaurants. Student apartments behind hotel but no noise issues at all. Free parking lounge and restaurants closed due to covid.

Rooms are narrow and comfy, shower has very low water pressure so do not expect a nice shower. No tub in rooms. Pets welcome not sure of an added fee. Pool located on property. I am not a fan of the new smaller european type hotels this is modeled after. It is fine for a quick stay at most.

The Aloft is a newish property near Archer Rd shopping. The location is pretty decent but surrounded by mostly student apartments. Check-in was smooth and rooms were ready as requested. The bedsheet has a stain and some
of the towels were frayed but overall everything was in working order. I wish hotels would have soft close on the room doors to account to fellow guests who let the door slam.

Overall, a good hotel in a very good location.

At check-in, I asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. Although I am a Gold member which they failed to acknowledge, they refused to accommodate this simple request. So disapponting. They were completely inflexible. The hotel looks half-empty but they seem extremely short on staff so they probably cannot clean the rooms. Keep your expectations to a minimum.

When the blankets were lifted to lay down for bed it was obvious that the sheets HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED. The sheets were wrinkled as if they had been slept on. There was also debris on the edge of the bed, on top of the fitted sheet therefore under the top blanket. It looked like dried up boogers. The front desk was called and the person told us that all beds are changed, I totally disagree. I have stayed in enough hotels and watched enough documentaries on this to know without a shadow of a doubt that those sheets hadn’t been changed. Won’t be staying there again especially in this COVID era. A supervisor needs to be checking on this constantly!

Convenient to campus. Helpful friendly staff. Rooms are clean, comfortable, small, but well laid out. Although I did not use the lounge & bar area in the lobby, it appeared quite nice. No breakfast served but did have a small canteen. Nice coffee pot in room. No self-service ice machine for the rooms on the first floor - had to have the desk person get ice from the bar.

I have stayed in other Aloft hotels, which were cleaner and nicer. The biggest issue is the thin walls. We could hear full conversations and other (pretty disagreeable) noises from guests on all sides, above and below us. It kept us from sleeping. The breakfast offerings are exceedingly overpriced, although if you have a car, it's easy to find other options for breakfast.

located close to all gainesville action but not walkable. Uber rides to football stadium about 2 miles so not bad location. Full bar in lobby, very nice bartenders on staff. no food available, breakfast options are not worth the effort.

Rooms are good but walls are paper thin. Neighboring guest when talking sounds like that are inside your room.

Free parking, no valet has a decent fitness facility has outdoor pool with outdoor tv area.

During football season room rates are crazy if you do not make an early reservation. Wait to long and the rooms will be $450+ a night which is crazy.

The room itself was nice enough but they forced me to pay a “checkin fee” even though I had a prepaid reservation and the front desk staff was rude and condescending. Since it was a nonrefundable reservation I was forced to pay their ransom. Lesson learned. Won’t stay at any Aloft again.

Hello Kairoschris, Marriott hotels like Aloft do not have a "check-in" fee, however every hotel does require an incidental hold to each reservation upon arrival to cover anything that may be charged to the room. If none of these funds are used they are returned back to your card upon departure. I would be happy to review your folio to ensure their are no fees that you speak of. Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel "Oliver".developed a severe eye condition that required us to bring him to UF small animal hospital Gainesville - a 4 hour drive.. After getting Oliver settled in we needed a place to spend the night. A lady in the waiting room was staying at the Aloft and highly recommended it.
We were not disappointed.
The room was fine, the vibe great, the breakfast offerings may be limited - but try the "Classic", outstanding, and the Staff "Wonderful"- We miss you folks
BTW we spent 3 nights at the Aloft while Oliver had his room at UF .He's home now and doing well .
