the hotel is well situated and undercover parking is included. Lots of reataurants , entertainment and bars are within a 1 mile radius. Rooms are new , modern and quiet and the beds are comfortable , wifi is fast and in general this hotel meets most expectations. Breakfast is a their achilles heel - one person trying to cater to many guests is a disaster. No coffee or tea available to keep you conteneted while you wait ,and wait and wait..... we left and I suggest you avoid the breakfast offering.
This new Indigo property is spotlessly clean, and has a bar as well as a breakfast cafe. It is located in a new mixed-use retail and residential community just off I-75, and is surrounded by interesting places to eat--sushi, Asian bistro, casual sports bars and dessert shops. Our room was clean, cool and quiet. We thought the bed was very comfy, with nice linens and a light weight duvet. The bathroom was clean and it has a great, double-shower head set up in the walk in shower. We chatted a bit with the friendly management staff, and promised them we'd be back, next time we were traveling by car through the area. You can't go wrong with this hotel, especially if you have furry babies with you--there's a huge dog park within sight of the hotel and the staff is super pet-friendly.
The Hotel Indigo in Gainesville was just what I expected AWESOME I have stayed at a couple of other Indigos and all of them are different. I was surprised when I was told the hotel was 4 years old it looks and feels like it brand new.The King room was excellent great bed the room layout perfect.Food was fantastic the Cheif Eric alway had a smile and kind word for all of the guest.I will be staying here again in the future
From the spacious lobby to the rooms, this hotel is decorated so hip and beautifully. Very moderately priced for the quality. Staff is very nice. Pretty outdoor pool area. Rooms are a good size with fun artwork, refrigerator & Keurig. Breakfast is not free but in a great space. Free covered parking across the street. Within a block of Celebration Point (fun Halloween displays and neat shops) and several wonderful restaurants. Great location right off I-75.
This hotel has a great location with shopping, restaurants and a few bars. It is neatly designed and staff is friendly. Two stars are because during our two night stay we had no hot water at all. The air does not work very well either. The air was turned all the way down to 68 but it never reached a cold temperature. Also be aware that breakfast is not free. There is a coffee maker and mini fridge in the room but no microwave. Upon checking out I heard numerous other guest complaints about the the lack of hot water and issues with their air conditioner as well.
My second floor room at first seemed OK. But little things showed up. No bag over the TV remote, no bag to put in ice bucket. Noisy air handler. The shower door wouldn’t close fully unless I used a wash cloth to block the door from inside the shower stall. Two light bulbs in the room one near the gator chair was almost burned out. The light when you came into the room off to the right was almost burned out also. The toilet seat cheap plastic in the second floor room and even the better 603 room. The view from my second floor room was poor at best over-viewing the parking garage and huge air handler and the large roof where you first drive under to get into the hotel lobby. I forgot my second floor room number 220 or 230. <> I was on the second floor my first night into my second day before some idiots above me. Made so much noise I called the front desk to complain. Then waited 15 minutes and called again. By the third time went to the front desk and asked to be moved. And was given room 603.…
Pros: Good location. Cons: Checked in and not one word from front staff that there is no housekeeping and I booked a reservation for a few days for 4 persons. The manager of the hotel should have front desk clearly communicate this day 1. No excuse Hotel Indigo Management. Put it on your website before people book your place. Tell us - full disclosure! Got back to the hotel on the first evening at 11 pm and room was not cleaned. Went downstairs to find out about housekeeping and I'm told for the first time, no housekeeping. Website boasts Aveda products. . I ask for more shampoo since 4 of us and shampoo bottle is 1 oz for entire room. I'm told hotel ran out of shampoo. What?? Had I known no housekeeping, I would have gone to CVS to buy shampoo, but it was 11 pm. If no housekeeping, give us a larger trashcan. Let us know so we can be prepared. For the pricepoint, you can get another hotel in Gainesville with housekeeping included. We should have been given a 10% discount. Elevators are slow. 1 elevator didn't work and the remaining elevator had water on the floor from people using pool. I could just see an accident waiting to happen. Won't ever return to this hotel. The lady who checked out before me was even more furious asking to speak to management.…
The hotel is very new and nice. Great decorations. The room I stayed was overlooking a terrace and a parking lot, but the whole window view was obstructed by some big thing (A/C output?) The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Added bonus is free self-parking (covered) across the street. The parking is used by people that going to nearby bars and shops, so be a little mindful about possible scratches. The area is a newly developed (open) mall with some good restaurants, a movie theater and some shops. During the stay there were a number of celebrations of UF students, which gave a lively tone in the neighborhood. However this hotel is more distant to UF campus than other hotels in the area, so you will definitely need a car to go around.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past and had a wonderful experience. It is an absolutely beautiful property with comfortable rooms , nice amenities, and a convenient location. This visit however was very disappointing. It was painfully obvious that they are critically short staffed. Check in went smoothly. We were told housekeeping was limited during our three night stay. We asked for minimal services including fresh towels. After contacting the front desk several times over the course of our stay, we were told housekeeping was unavailable. We were even told there was no housekeeping on Sunday. I don’t know how you turn over a room without housekeeping. With days worth of towels and garbage piling up in our room we went to the hotel bar to hang out. The public spaces were closed due to a private event. Even the breakfast restaurant which has a delightful menu went to a Buffet-only format I assume because of staffing shortages. I feel like we were staying in a hostel more than a hotel. We are very disappointed we did not receive the services we paid for. I want to like this hotel but it’s operations are chaotic. Buyer Beware.…
We met with friends and visited our son; a freshman at UF. Location of the property is great. Rooms were high end and top notch. Restaurants within walking distance. We could see new living space being built which will enhance the area even more.
