The hotel is in a great downtown location with a pool, work out room and a wonderful breakfast. The room was comfortable with a good sized work station and plenty of outlets. The only negative was it was a bit dusty—I could see dust particles flying in the air. Also, valet parking was $20 per day unless you were lucky enough to find after hours parking on the street.

Everything was clean, there were hand sanitizing stations everywhere. Gym had antibacterial wipes for the 2 treadmills, elliptical, and bike. Within walking distance of a dozen or more appetizing restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, literally around the corner. Though according to Trip Advisor I learned there are 52 within .3 miles. This was especially a bonus since the bagged breakfast was the only downside - · The bagged breakfast had two bars, an orange, and some water.I know these are "unprecedented times" but I would have loved some protein. But on the plus side both a Starbucks and a Wyatt's Coffee (scones on point!!) about a block away.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a great location in downtown Gainesville, very close to a variety of restaurants and bars.We had a great time at Harry's, delicious drinks and food at Oak and a delicious Italian dinner at Amelia's . These restaurants are in walking distance to the hotel.

The staff was so friendly but when I arrive to my room, I noticed it smelled... old. Not sure how to describe it. Like not well ventilated or like a dirty carpet. I was given a suite on the ground floor, and the bathroom connected to the room was so dirty. The floor had a couple of sticky spots (not sure why?) and there were hairs stuck there. There was a clump of hair too on the corner next to the wall and bathtub. Clearly an employee had come in to set up the room because the bed was made and the bathroom curtain was arranged, but this person didn’t clean at all. The bed had a small hair on it and a small brown stain. Little things... but really did not make me feel comfortable sleeping in it. Can’t imagine how dirty the brown carpet would’ve been considering the state of the bathroom.

Used blistex container and dirty fork found under bed at check in. Valet run by a bunch of stoners. Approximately half the equipment in the fitness center is inoperative. Restaurant adjacent shuts down at 2:00 am. They lock the doors and typically have a clean up party with the stereo fully cranked. Front desk staff has dealt with this often and knew exactly where it was coming from when I called in the middle of the night.

I’m an airline pilot. I live in hotels. Avoid this one. The location is not worth the hassle.

Hello Mr. Eisterhold, I would like to apologize for the issues you encountered while you were here. The items under the bed are inexcusable and will be used as a training opportunity. I have passed your comments regarding the valet to the valet company. Your choice of adjectives is certainly yours to have. As for the noise from the restaurant, as the GM I can address. As a pilot, you know that some items are out of your individual control. Thank you again and thank you for what you do during these trying travel times. Brad

I found two drug test kits in my room. One still had urine in it. WHAT A HEALTH HAZARD!! I took them to the front desk, the clerk simply looed in it and put it in the back. I had to ask for another room. I later asked for the manager, but she wasn’t available, so I requested an upgrade for the inconvenience. I was upgraded to a suite and this room was filthy. I didn’t say anything because I felt I was already being a pain. The bathroom mirror still had toothpaste splatter from the previous guest. The soap dish was covered with soap scum, I mean thick soap scum, not just a little from one time use. And the counter was dirty as well. I cleaned all of this myself. I should have had to do this. Then the carpet. It obviously was not vacuumed. There were visible white crumbs everywhere. Not very dense but could be seen throughout the floor. If these could be seen, there’s no telling what else is on the carpet. Two of the pillowcases had stains. One looked like a small spec of blood and the other was a light brown stain. I imagine they were clean, but it is very off-putting, nevertheless. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel before. I know Gainesville is a college town and the kids probably don’t care as much, but there’s no excuse for not cleaning rooms.

They raised the cost of the room for the festival that was in town. You would imagine that they would provide more service with this but the room was disgusting when we came in and they had no cleaning services during out stay. Crumbs, stains in the bed, dead ants , not enough staff in the building to help guest.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel, staff was friendly and the location is very central. We travel yearly to Tampa for health needs, and are always making sure that we choose reliable hotels. We chose Hilton. After the first night we had to move to another room, and it seems that there are no standards in this hotel. The infrastructure is old and not always functioning, for example, there is no central air system, just some old air-conditioning boxes next to the windows. When cooling, some of these boxes make a lot of noise, day and night. In the first room, the fridge did not work and it damaged our medicine. We asked to speak to a manager but no one contacted us. In the second room, the air-conditioning box was probably broken and it was impossible to change the temperature or even to turn it off. We did not complain this time since there were so many issues with our rooms, and no one from management contacted us after the medicine was damaged. We will not come back.

I had been told that there was free valet parking. Wrong!! They stopped it with the
pandemia. No place to stop momentarily in front. When called the hotel, they told me to park on the street. After 15 minutes looking for parking, I went into a garage paying $25 for the night. The garage had an elevator (scary noises) leading me to a few steps (carrying a lot of luggage) and about a 100 yards walking outside. If I had known, I would have liked for another hotel. Paid $195 for this?????

Good morning chloriflai, I am sorry to hear of the parking issues you had during your stay. Unfortunately, valet parking which is not free has been temporarily suspended during the pandemic. Parking is currently free on the street, but as you saw, spaces are sometimes limited. I have spoken to the owner of the garage about the elevator issues you mentioned. Thank you for your feedback on TripAdvisor. Brad

We stayed here 1 night passing through. This is a college town, be aware of that, and the timing of your visit (to what events are going on). They have valet parking, there is a spot blocked off with a cone in front to drop off your car. It can take a few tries to get in there, it’s a busy area. The staff was friendly, room was clean. There are a ton of restaurants right outside it’s doors.
