I've stayed in MANY motels in my day and I always stay here when I visit Gainesville. It's within walking distance to downtown, which is something you won't get at any other motel in town. Idk what other reviews are taking about with the roaches, I've never seen a single bug. The accommodations are all pretty average, nothing is great or terrible. Also, the pool no longer exists. The main selling point here is the location. And the price. 60 bucks a night is as good as you'll find literally anywhere.
There was roaches all over the room and the air conditioner was no good and the shower was nasty for the money which was to much by the way that we payed🤬🤬🤬🤯🤯🤯 I dont recommend this motel to my worse enemy ..,,,,,....so stay away everyone if you dont want roaches all over you.......
I'm giving it 2 stars because the lady at the front desk & the house keeper were very nice BUT....THIS PLACE IS A ROACH MOTEL!!!!!! I stayed 2 nights, the first night I saw 1 large roach & 3 babies. The 2nd night the rest of the family came out to play!!!! I killed 4 big roaches & about a dozen babies!!!! It was HORRIBLE!!!! I "slept" with the ceiling light on because I was afraid of what might come out in the dark!!! I even considered sleeping in my car, but I had already paid for the room AND it was too hot & humid!! I know this is Florida & if they had been Palmetto bugs I might have been a bit more understanding, but these were nasty filthy disgusting ROACHES!!!!
Average motel at a low price. Not good but not bad either. Good location, would have been nice if the pool was open. The room had all the facilities you would expect, but was a bit dark and thus unwelcoming.
We were in town for a UF football game and chose the Gainesville Lodge for its location to the stadium and the rating. We arrived and checked in and left our bags in the car and walked to the stadium. After the game, we walked back to the motel and grabbed the bags out of the car. Walked up to our room and went in. Immediately upon turning on the lights I noticed scurrying on the floor. Lots of small cockroaches were everywhere. I stomped what I could as they ran under the beds and the tv stand. So glad I didn't leave my bags in the room during the game. To the clerks credit she didn't even put up an argument for a refund as we left to find another room.
