Nice enough stay. I felt the balcony room, and the balcony itself was a touch small, and the balcony chairs provided were straight out of Walmart. No complimentary breakfast offered. Nice enough stay and pricing was reasonable for a weekday.

I booked this hotel for our crew to stay while in town working. It was extremely clean, very trendy, and welcomingly chic. The front desk associate was very helpful and made the check in process very simple. The sales team made sure that we had our rooms together and everything that we needed so that everything was ready when we checked in. Travis, the sales manager, was exceptional at meeting our needs and getting us a great deal. He had gift baskets for each of the rooms. By going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed it made being away from home feel comfortable. Of all the hotels our company uses throughout the United States this one has to be one of the best between the quality of the stay, the price, location, and exceptional service. This is greatly aided by the sales manager, Travis, who was so helpful and super friendly. Overall such a great experience and would highly suggest staying here.

This DoubleTree property is kept in very good shape, especially in a college town. The staff is very warm and friendly. The customer service was outstanding. It's located next to a lot of restaurants and grocery stores. I find it to be one of the most reasonable higher-end hotels in Gainesville.

My room had so many issues (after only being in it for 5 minutes) it was recommended the I move to another room (I did and employees watched me struggle to gather my belongings and lug a suitcase thru a door that did not stay open.) The outside is run down and dark and the pool area is terrible. The people at the front desk were not interested and/or sympathetic at all to the fact my room had several things wrong: the TV didn't work. The refrigerator wasn't cold and had a smell from previous guests' food. outlets by the beds weren't working so it was difficult to charge my devices unless I brought them to another area in the room. The hotel charges you $25 for incidentals and they say after a few days it will be refunded to your credit card but I haven't seen it posted yet.
I chose this place because of expectations it would meet Hilton standards..it did not. Far from it.

I stayed in this hotel on Mother's Day Weekend with my sons and husband and it was awful!!!! We had 2 rooms.
Little to say lack of hygiene: i have pictures to prove it. Under the circumstance we are currently facing you would think they will be more careful, putting the seal sticker on the door doesnt work if you don't clean inside the room. I found a dirty hand towel under the floating vanity from the previous guest and the magnifying mirror with toothpaste spots from the previous guest. Lost total faith in their cleaning techniques. God know what else on the sheet,s carpet, etc...Just because you are not offering room service doesn't mean you stop customer service, i reached out to 2 of the cleaning staff and they didn't even acknowledge my presence. An extremely bad experience. It was disgusting, based on what we found I didn't want to touch anything or stayed at the room too long. I bought detergent to clean the bathrooms on both rooms and brought in the room the blankets we had in the car to sleep on the beds since my complaint was not acknowledge and everything was fully booked for that weekend.

Terrible. You cannot operate a hotel without soap - and certainly not in a pandemic! Absolutely unconscionable! And there was no regard by Managememt for customer well-being throughout our stay here. Repeatedly asked respectfully to speak with the Manager during our 5 day stay and was told she was not available the whole time and she never responded to the messages left for her. There was no soap in hues rooms, nor in public restrooms. Absolutely unacceptable. This hotel is not in good shape. Looks pretty in the pictures and has great potential, but wallpaper literally falling off the walls, vents sporting giant dust bunnies that clearly have never been cleaned, even while touting cleanliness standArds for the pandemic in what is clearly NOT happening (yes, I took pictures from the bathroom in our room), shower had stains on walls and floors that I tried not to guess what they’re from but either not properly being cleaned or in such disrepair that it can’t be cleaned (yes, have pictures of that too!). You all should be ashamed of yourselves for taking reservations and receiving guests. It was completely unacceptable to be in this condition in a pandemic, much less for someone very familiar with Hilton properties and standards, willing to give some grace for Staffing shortages and other issues during this time, but this did not cut it! Would have left and found another hotel but it was difficult during move in weekend for UF and we have always been brand loyal. This sure made me question that loyalty as due regard clearly wasn’t being show to your customers! There was food at this property… no bottled drinking wAter, so, anyone care to guess how unclean food handlers were when there was NO SOAP in the hotel? Someone at Hilton needs to review this property.

When I arrived in my room, I had no wash clothes, I could not reach anyone at the front desk or housekeeping!! I had to take a shower with one of the hand towels. Then might light in the hallway was out, so I tried calling again, no answer!! The next morning before going to my meeting I wanted to make me a cup of coffee while I was ironing, I found that the electrical outlet to the coffee pot was not working. So I decided to just iron on the opposite side of the room. When I returned to my room on Friday evening after working at a Conference all day, all I wanted to do was take a hot shower and go to bed!! No lights were working in the hallway and bathroom, I called the front desk and got an answer and told them my issue. They told me they would send maintenance up to my room, but after waiting about 30 minutes I received a called from the front desk to check my lights in the bathroom and hallway to see if they would come on. I did and they were working. I was told by the front desk person that the maintenance guy had to flip the breaker. When I woke up the next morning at 5am, my lights in both the bathroom and hallway were out again. So I called the front desk, and no one answered!! I called at least 5 times, no answer!! I decided to ask one of the men in my group who I knew was going downstairs early to go down and report my lights out again so I could take a shower. He went down only to find the front desk person fast asleep at the desk!! At this point, I just took my chances in the dark bathroom and took my shower to get ready for my meeting that day!! This was the worst hotel experience that I have ever had. I have been planning meetings for over 25 years and I have never checked into a property where the hotel contact person does not reach out to just welcome me or say hello. I asked for my contact person on three different occasions and I was never even contacted by phone!! I am totally through with the Doubletree Hilton in Gainesville!!!

Recently stayed at this "hotel" I have stayed at a number of doubletrees in the past and this was so far below the bar I can't explain. First, we had to change rooms due to rusting of the bath in the first room. Second, there was one bath towel in a double room...we called the front desk and they told us to come get the towels. When I arrived at the front desk the employees were there just hanging out (could have brought the towels to the room). Then there is the matter of the toilet, it was a slow flush and then on our last day it just overflowed--nothing major just a number #1 with a few tp and sewage all over. housekeeping could not be bothered initially...that is until the one employee in this God forsaken place that cares heard our distress came to our aide, Joyce Simmons. Joyce saw that we needed help and actually helped. she was the only bright spot during this stay. When I requested to speak to the manager about this, the front desk rep stated that she was unavailable and that she was aware of the situation and that she would give me a call. One week later no call from Carol Lee, so I call Hilton, they also stated that they would look into the matter and call me back with a resolution. 5 days later nothing! Suffice to say, please don't stay at this hotel if you are expecting any decent level of service and don't expect Hilton to hold them accountable.

I can not express enough how amazing this hotel is and how the staff will go above and beyond for their guest! We traveled to played in a softball tournament and it fell on Valentine’s Day. ❤️ I mentioned this to the front desk Supervisor Tyler and went on about it then noticed they had some balloons, I asked if I could have a few for the players. Not only did he give them to me he grabbed some chocolates and went with me to surprise the girls! Wow! I was definitely impressed! A little while later we were hanging out in the lobby which is very spacious and inviting, I said to Tyler how much I was missing my traditional strawberries , chocolate covered of course 😜. The next morning ,while getting ready to head to the games, there was a knock at the door. Can you believe Tyler had chocolate covered strawberries delivered to my room!! He paid attention and went way overboard to make me feel special! This is typically where we stay every year and we are never disappointed! To go to such extremes for us on a holiday only ensured we will always be here ! Thank you so much Tyler and staff for an incredible stay once again!!

Thank you for the huge shout out to Tyler. I appreciate the kind words describing how he went above and beyond to make sure your softball team had a memorable stay. I was a softball parent to two girls that started at t-ball age throughout their college career and I always appreciated the special attention the hotel staff has show our teams. Good luck to the team this year and we hope to see you in the future.

I was somewhat disappointed. There was no carrier for our luggage when we arrived. The room I stayed in was very dark, and I had to call the front desk for them to get maintenance to come out to put a light bulb in the lamp that was the largest in the room, so I could see. In addition, there were just two bath towels in the bathroom. Lastly, we were charged a $40/per room for an incidental deposit that was to be held for a couple of days for both rooms I rented. I still haven’t received my money back, and we had no charges. We did not order any room service or eat breakfast there. I made sure to get a print out saying we had a $0 balance before leaving. Overall, I’m not impressed.
